I swear lawyers make people stupid.  I saw a layout issue that should be fixed in the +Nest mobile app and E-mailed their support contact from within the Play Store and got this response:

"I apologize, but we're unable to accept product suggestions over email due to our legal policy."

It goes on to suggest that I post it to their website instead ... a layout change.  Please stop making me scroll on a large tablet.  That's all I suggested.  Sigh.

That's the first rejection E-mail I've ever received from an app developer ... not all have been implemented, but all the rest have been smart enough to accept the feedback they're given and not ask their lawyers first.

Hidden Beach

You won't believe how this gorgeous hidden beach was formed. Located on the Marieta Islands in Puerto Vallarta, this is a former bomb site used by the Mexican Government in the early 1900's. To reach the hidden beach, known as Playa de Amor, you have to swim through a short tunnel which opens up into the spectacular beach, which is surrounded by rare wildlife.

My little girl just finished the second (and longest) book in the Sword of Truth series and as she debates reading the third before or after her stack of unfinished reading material, I tried convincing her that she should blog her reading experiences.

Has anyone found a good stable car mount for the Nexus 7 yet other than the $50-120 ProClip models?  I'd love to dash-mount my Nexus7 and pogo-pin charge but USB will work too.
I had my Dell Streak 5" phone mounted nicely in its Otterbox case for a while and it was really nice but I'd prefer to mount the larger Nexus7 now.

Needed practice working with RADIUS as an authentication system for 802.1x and some new Wi-Fi work I'm doing so I configured my home access point as WPA-Enterprise instead of Personal and got playing.

Gotta say, it feels a bit special to have individualized logins and passwords for everyone in the house (not to mention guests being on a private VLAN).

An article on Slashdot points out that Google's Schmidt said to The Telegraph, "You have to fight for your privacy, or you will lose it." and that "this is quite different from his infamous 2009 remark: 'If you have something that you don't want anyone to know, maybe you shouldn't be doing it in the first place.'" but I disagree.  I think they're quite compatible -- those things you don't want people to know about you probably shouldn't do because the Internet isn't private right now.  But that doesn't stop us from fighting for more privacy ...

Alright fellow audio type people and generic computer geeks, I have a desk full of devices with eighth inch headphone jacks for audio out and one pair of speakers on this desk.  I want an inconspicuous but decent quality "mixer/switch" to connect four or five devices' inputs into and set individual volume levels from.

Having spent way too much time doing actual mixing, and owning a nice multi-channel multi-input Yamaha system for my livingroom I'm feeling left out in the small speaker desktop arena and feel like something must exist to fill this niche.

Thoughts?  Suggestions?  Actual products?

This was done overnight. This is actual fields created in game.

I finally completed the fantastic and emotionally draining Heavy Rain last weekend.  I almost feel the need to start over and get a different outcome, partly because I let one of my characters die part way through.  What a great game ... can't wait for Beyond: Two Souls.

Maybe I should finish Two Worlds 2 now.
