KANDAHAR: Sitting on a dirty straw mat on the parched ground of southern Afghanistan, Masooma sank deeper inside a giant black shawl. Hidden from view, her words burst forth as she told her side of what happened to her family sometime before dawn on March 11, 2012.

According to Masooma, an American soldier wearing a helmet equipped with a flashlight burst into her two-room mud home while everyone slept. He killed her husband, Dawood, punched her 7-year-old son and shoved a pistol into the mouth of his baby brother.

''We were asleep. He came in and he was shouting, saying something about Taliban, Taliban, and then he pulled my husband up. I screamed and screamed and said, 'We are not Taliban, we are not government. We are no one. Please don't hurt us,''' she said.

Combined Strength

People I have met in rural areas who partner with animals to earn money are always respectful and loving towards their beasts. The man in picture transports bricks, the carrier is adequately cushioned and donkeys are never overloaded, decorative traditional woolen adornments are always present. Shows a lot about the bond between the two.

A #straightoutofcamera  shot of an evening in rural #punjab , #Pakistan .

In rural Punjab, Pakistan, people cut fodder from the fields for consumption of cattle and transport it on their donkeys, cattle is not taken out for grazing as crops grow everywhere and there are no grazing grounds, except in seasons when crops are harvested and fields remain vacant. This activity of chopping fodder takes place twice in a day i.e. morning and evening. Alfalfa is mostly used as fodder after mixing it up with dried and chopped hay.

A wooden structure over hanging a sheer cliff by the road side in Kaghan Valley being used as mosque and Jamat offering Zuhr prayers. It was a great sight.

Nanga Parbat on Fire

Nanga Parbat is the second highest mountain peak of Pakistan and is the ninth highest mountain of world. It is located in Himalayan mountain range. The name Nanga Parbat which means “Naked Mountain” is derived from sanskrit language. The sanskrit word parvata means “mountain rocks” and nanga means “bare”. It is also among the list of Deadlist Mountains to climb up and is also known as the “Killer Mountain” because of its immense and dramatic rises far above its surrounding terrain. It is also been given the name “Murder Mountain” by Germans and “Mountain of the Devil” by sherpas localities’ of the Himalayan region. It is the only peaks which have the longest list of human deaths and tragedies.
