If anyone is interested in Christian flavoured millennialist numerology you might find this blog interesting.  But no teasing   If this is genuine then this the writer is probably deeply troubled.

Has anyone else been watching Utopia, on Channel 4 in the UK.  If not then you bloody should be.  It is the best conspiratorially tinged, dystopian, gritty thriller I have ever seen.

Ok so +Niles Calder pointed me at this story.  Short version is that she shaved her head as an act of contrition and posted a tearful apology for breaking the rules of her 'girl band'.  I say 'girl band' because there are 90 of them, all young women, they're not allowed to date and the threat of expulsion leads to this.  That's not a girl band it's a cult.

Well that's what I though the moment I read it.  That might be western prejudice.  And it's probably something to do with being a mother.  For all I know it's a publicity stunt.

Anyway.  It's way more fun if it is a cult.  So who's really in charge, what do they want and what does it all mean?

There's a couple of fantastic cliff walks near me but I don't have a car and the start points are hard to reach by public transport.  If there are any other people in the North East of Scotland who fancy either a joint trip or my recommendation for a  walk of their own then please let me know.

With all the Birthers demanding Obama's birth certificate and the like, I'm honestly surprised no one's done the same for Romney. So, right here, right now, in front of the world, I am demanding:

Show us your source code and design schematics, Romney. The American people deserve to know if all your circuit boards and your exceedingly life-like exoskeleton were Made In America, or if those Chinese Copyright criminals you keep going on about had a hand in it.

I havve been tin the pub this afternoon.  We wer playing a d20 drinking game called "Drink, Feck, Arse, Girls.

Everybody gets a drink and you share a d20.  When it's your turn you role the die and forllo the chart.

Even number below 20:  Shout "Drink" and point at someone. They hae to drink.
Odd number above 1:  Shout "Arse" and drink.
1: Shout "Feck" and drink whatever is left in your glass then buy another drink.
20: Choose between "That would be an ecumenical matter." or "I love my brick". If the first one everyone but you takes a drink, if the second then whoever you are pointing at must down their drink.

I'll proably post a more co-herent description when I've sobered up.

Something for my American friends to read.  Yes British Police Officers still take to the street without guns.  

Oh and answer to the question asked by the Louisiana officer half way down the article:  When a British Police Officer is faced with a knife wielding assailant they either disarm them using their baton or they call in the Armed Response Unit snipers.

This latest debate is triggered by the tragic death of two women officers who were attacked with a gun and a grenade.  Given that they were ambushed while responding to a routine call it's unlikely that carrying guns would have saved them.
