In January, Beatrix, Queen of the Netherlands announced that she was abdicating the thrown to her heir-apparent, her son, the Prince of Orange. Her announcement made headlines because it's very uncommon that a monarch step-down. It also made headlines because it will be the first time in over 100 years that a king has ruled in the Netherlands.
In just a couple of days (on the 30th of April), the transition will formally begin, when Beatrix officially relinquishes herself as Queen. The Prince of Orange will then become Willem-Alexander, King of the Netherlands.

I actually thought up something similar to this a while ago, but never did anything with it.... Perhaps I'll try to turn it into a book or something.
Verrrry powerful and moving, even though the concept itself shouldn't be. Just shows how terrified people are of things they don't understand. For a race of highly advanced sentient creatures, we sure suck at comprehension and acceptance of things we haven't experienced.

iPhone question:
Any iPhone users have experienced with portable batteries? I'm accustomed to simply popping my Android's battery out when I'm running low or using my portable battery charger. Can anyone recommend an affordable portable battery charger? I know Morphie's out there... But it's 80 bucks/ pack (100 for the decent sized).
My battery usually dies after about being on 3g for 2.5 hours or so.
Suggestions are welcome!

The houses blow down very easily. People live proudly in tents on the streets. North Korea is responsible for our walls and roofing material. The Empire State does it again
Today, New York State passed its third budget on time... with a couple of days to spare!
+Thomson Reuters reports: "As a package the budget holds spending growth under 2 percent; raises the minimum wage incrementally to $9 an hour by the end of 2015; extends higher tax rates for millionaires and tax breaks for the middle class that were to expire next year."
The budget also calls for an additional $1 billion to schools. So, I'm excited to see how that pans out. Just as New York's working to rebuild its infrastructures, there also appears to be intentions to improve and revamp our schools. Now, districts within the State will have the opportunity to lengthen school days, which is part of the Governor's plan to reform schools.

Today was amazing. We stood #UnitedforMarriage and proud. There were few in attendance who didn't support equality, but the overwhelming majority did.
I'm proud to have been a small part of history today.
I'll be in Washington DC tomorrow below the steps of the Supreme Court in spirit where I know justice will prevail when the Justices hold that love is love and we are all to be treated equally under the law.
There were Republican speakers and Democratic speakers. There was true bipartisanship.
Many faiths and spiritual leaders spoke to the crowd. They reaffirmed their support for the fight of marriage equality.
Today, in front of the United States Supreme Court, Republicans and Democrats stood united, athletes stood united, families stood united, the LGBT community and allies stood united.

Former Deputy Prime Minister suggests that Queen Elizabeth II should abdicate the throne
+The Telegraph reports: " The former Labour deputy Prime Minister said he wanted to pass on concerns from a friend that, at the age of 86, the Monarch was “overburdening” herself and was risking her health by continuing on the throne.
