Photo taken last Sunday while visiting city of Šibenik on Adriatic coast.
I was climbing up to the cemetery in old town.
Spotted one cat in the street but on the cemetery there was much more of them :)

We haven't quite made it to the markets yet, +Cathy Samuels and I, but I can already smell the coffee... okay, okay - I can't really smell the coffee as we're still some hundreds of metres away - but I hadn't had my morning coffee hit as yet so I was imagining I could smell the coffee.

In the Back of a Ute

Earlier in the week, +Benjamin Kappel Schmidt posted a rather #Cableicous   image of cut cables and I noted that I'd spotted something similar on the back a ute.  I didn't manage to get an image of those cables on that ute but I did manage to make an image of these cables on another ute.

The huntering and gatherering is complete - it's now time for an afternoon nap (after a spot of reading, of course).

It's Not All Storks, Storks, Storks, you know.
By the way, the storks are back!

On the 29th of March the storks come back to Lithuania after they migrated back from Africa. The male arrives first (gandras) and prepares the nest (the same one used the year before) for his "wife", gandriene.
Curiosity, it seems that storks are very faithful to each others and once the couple is formed they live together for life.
After a week or so the female arrives too, and this happened 2 or 3 days ago. Unfortunately the weather was miserable (on Saturday we had snow too) and just today a marvellous sun came out.
I couldn't miss this shot as it was incredible to see, and wanted to share it on Google+

Based on posts and comments I've seen, especially from the US folk, I'm getting the feeling that some distractions, and/or levity, could be useful.

I tend to be rather bad at knowing how to "appropriately" handle emotional distress, and I often turn to jokes in such times.

Specifically, elephant jokes.

So, until y'all me to quit, or I get tired/distracted, I shall be posting elephant jokes.

Starting with my current favourite, the Periodic Table of Elephants.

I go to Melbourne at least twice a year.  The reason that I visit Melbourne regularly is to visit a specialist of the medical variety.  The joy of visiting Melbourne is in re-engaging with friends that I've known from when I lived there in the 80s as well as the forming of new friendships with people that I've met through G+: live long and proper Melbournites - see you again soon (though not soon enough).

One of the benefits of being a member of Zoos Victoria is that you can visit any of three zoos in Victoria (and quite a few interstate) as many times as you like during the year.  Whilst I would have hoped to get better shots of the beautiful elephants during my most recent visit (and no... I still haven't processed the images from #Derek), I did at least manage to get the cables. ;-)

Spaced Power

A duo of trios of power lines, with some of spacers keeping the cables parallel.
One of the stranger, to me, sights of power lines when I came to Recife was to see that they use some structures as spacers to keep the lines appart. 
I suspect people from Recife (at least those that look at electric lines) may be surprised to see cables hanging loose in other cities.  ;-)
In some cases I can see that the cables are coated with insulators, so maybe the separators are metal, most of them look very matte not metallic, I haven't taken a closer look (not that I'd like to, those are live wires!)

It's been a day of heavy rain, with transient flooding in some parts of the city, this photo is the only blue skies I've seen today (and then I had to go and process it making it less blue than it was originally :)
