Raising the bandwidth.... perhaps someone seeing this will want to play? Or pass it on.

For all of my fellow Google+ people, this is one of the few times I post something that is, on a serious note of direct relation to myself and my personal endeavors, that you are all able to help me with, if you so choose, or are into this sort of thing. Please take the time to read, share, comment or plus if you will. I'm not going to spam you guys with this, but I appreciate anyone willing to do me a solid, on it.

Twitch.tv was brought to my attention by +Farrell Helios a while back as a useful way to stream gaming content to friends and followers, and I've recently taken it up myself. It's a very slow process to build a following of folks who enjoy watching, and interacting with a gamer doing what they enjoy. It allows people to see the games I may be playing, experience my reactions and idle banter, and interact using a chat window. It's effectively a way of digitally emulating the feel of sitting behind me and having a chat while I game, in my free time.

So recently I've been stepping my game up on Twitch, and have started to stream much more regularly, with a lot of encouragement from my friends and loved ones. I know that videogame livestreams are not everyone's thing, but anywhore, here's what's new: The stream location has not changed. It's still located at--

http://www.twitch.tv/atomicnomnom

and has been remodeled a bit. I've been playing near every day, with the encouragement I've received from +Kush Khan and the help she's given to keep the viewing open, I've developed a very tiny startup following.

Then, at the suggestion of another +Gregory Pratt whom has played alongside and joined in a few of the streams, I've recently added a donation link to the page, which serves as a means of giving supporters an option to help build the stream. Donations aren't required, but those who want to are more than welcome to, and they help expand content, by pushing me closer to being able to purchase a wider variety of games, equipment, et cetera, and expand the content of the stream. This link can be found on the page, and is here for reference--

https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=XW4QGEBMUB4MA

Finally at the suggestion of another follower on the stream, who I assume to be another friend from G+ but I'm unsure of because the names are different. I've found another service to offer: My Twitch also has a link which allows viewers to purchase games, services and accessories from a retailer that provides them on the cheap, and using the link leading from my page will also generate revenue for yours truly. This link is found here--

https://www.g2a.com/?reflink=user-55bb03bb0327e

The reasoning for writing this is because I'm hoping to keep this up, and with a little good fortune may be able to expand my following, to a point of being able to do livestreams for a living.

If anyone would like to help this along, feel free to check out the stream, which usually operates on a tentative schedule in the afternoons/evenings EST if you're interested in viewing. If you like it, follow, if you don't that's okay. If you're not into that sort of thing you're also able to help by sharing this post, if you like to friends or circles who MIGHT be interested. Fellow gamers, streamers or people interested in my particular brand of fuckery. Any little bit can help me make this thing a reality, so I do strongly encourage that people pass this post around, and help me reach as many people as possible. Shout outs will definitely be given to anyone who helps me expand the reach of this info.

Disclaimer: Those of you who know me, this goes without saying. My stream is meant to be viewed by a mature audience. I play violent and M rated games, I curse like a fucking sailor and I occasionally drink while streaming. It's not exactly an after school special.___Raising the bandwidth.... perhaps someone seeing this will want to play? Or pass it on.

Stand with Elizabeth Warren: Tell Congress to rein in Wall Street with the 21st Century Glass-Steagall Act

"Pass the 21st Century Glass-Steagall Act. Enough is enough. It's time to restore sanity to Wall Street and the banking system."

Wall Street is going to hate this: Glass-Steagall is back with a vengeance, in a new bipartisan bill co-sponsored by Senator Elizabeth Warren and Senator John McCain.1

For decades, the original Glass-Steagall Act separated general banking, like savings deposits and small business loans, from the kind of high-risk speculative trading done by investment banks that crashed the economy.

But ever since banks first started chipping away at the law in the 1980’s, we’ve seen a resurgence of risky gambles and financial crashes.

The new, “21st Century Glass-Steagall Act” would help fix that problem by declaring that Wall Street mega-banks can engage in high-risk trading all they want – but not if they also take out federally-insured deposits.2

Big banks, right-wing conservatives, and corporate Democrats will stop at nothing to keep this proposal from becoming law.

We need to seize on the momentum from the bill’s bipartisan introduction to demand that it become law – and show that Americans will not stop fighting for bold action against Wall Street greed.

After Glass-Steagall passed in the 1930’s in response to the Great Depression, America entered a long period of financial stability built on a simple trade-off.

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) would insure the money everyday Americans deposited in banks, ensuring middle class economic stability.

In return, any bank that took deposits could not engage in risky trades and speculative gambles. It was a clear bright line between boring, essential banking and the wild chase for profits.3

But as Senator Warren put it, “That high wall between high-risk trading and boring banking was punched full of holes until in the late 1990s, it was knocked down when Glass-Steagall was eventually repealed.

And not long after that, the worst crash since the 1930s hit the American economy.”4

The 21st Century Glass-Steagall Act is a modern, updated version of the old law, designed to tackle the complexities of modern banking, but Glass-Steagall is fundamentally about setting tough, clear rules and forcing Wall Street to work for Main Street, not the other way around.

This law is needed today more than ever before.

The 21st Century Glass-Steagall Act has been introduced in years past, and regularly attracts a broad cohort of bipartisan sponsors.

But today, the biggest banks continue to balloon in size and control huge portions of our economy.5

Risky trading continues, with high-frequency computer-driven trading adding new risks.6

And nearly five years after Congress passed Wall Street reform, the Federal Reserve continues to delay implementing the Volcker Rule, a ban on using federally insured funds for risky trades that is considered “Glass-Steagall light.”7,8

A massive push for this legislation right now will press corporate Democrats to back down, and expose the right-wing Republicans who are siding with Wall Street.

We need to speak loud and clear, demand that Congress act, and boldly show that Americans won’t tolerate inaction any longer.

Stand with Elizabeth Warren: Tell Congress to rein in Wall Street with the 21st Century Glass-Steagall Act.

Thank you for speaking out.

Paws Workout
If you have a kitty the chances are she's already helped you workout anyway. So here's the chance to use the Paws workout and formalize the arrangement. This is precision work, it calls for smooth control of muscles and attention to the way you move your body, of course.

Instructions: Repeat each move with no rest in between until the set is done, rest up to 2 minutes and repeat the whole set again 3, 5 or 7 times depending on your fitness level.

What it works: Quads, deltoids, chest, obliques, triceps, chest, abs, front hip flexors, glutes, hamstrings, cardiovascular system.

Make it better:  You can't or rather, you shouldn't.

Make it harder: Get a heavier kitty? try it with two?

Perfect for: Every cat owner and cat who wants to exercise with its owner.

I'm Becoming a Democrat Today    from -> http://goo.gl/3Yv04z
-"I have lurked for so long, but decided to open a Daily Kos account this morning.  My political journey has a been a long one.  I have been a Republican, then a Libertarian, then I joined the Green party.  Today, I am changing my voter registration to Democrat for the first time ever in my life.  Why?  Because of Bernie Sanders.

Bernie Sanders is the kind of candidate that does not come along too very often.  I really hope the Democratic party will choose him as their candidate in the election.  I have followed his campaign since he announced that he was running.  His economic platform speaks to me.

I grew up in a middle class family, went to college and got a great job right out of school.  I worked hard and made decent money.  I bought a house I probably couldn't afford.  When I lost my job during the recession, I lost my house.  For the first time in my life I was poor.  I had nowhere to go.  I stayed in a hotel room that cost me $39 a night for a while until I couldn't afford that anymore.  I went hungry many nights.  I ended up sleeping in my car for a few months until I lost that too.

I slept outside at a park on a bench for a few weeks.  Finally, as it began to get cold, I went to a shelter.  They were able to feed me, give me a warm place to stay and help me find a job.  Now, I have my own modest apartment, and a 15 year old car.  I feel the most successful I have ever felt in my life.  Thanks to a helping hand, I was able to get back on my feet.  I make $9.50 an hour at one job, and $8.75 at my second job.  I work very hard at both of these jobs and between the two, I often work 50-60 hours a week.

Bernie Sanders is the only candidate advocating for a $15 minimum wage.  For this reason, he gets my support.  He's the only candidate that is talking about helping the poor.  He understands the plight of so many.

I like Hillary Clinton.  I just feel that she doesn't understand me.  She is so close to many large corporations and I worry that she has their best interest at heart instead of mine.  I don't think she understands how a middle class person can become homeless in a matter of months.  Many of us are one or two paychecks away from disaster.  It wouldn't take much for me to become homeless again.

One of my jobs is talking about cutting back my hours after the summer.  I won't starve if they do, but I won't be comfortable either.  I'll do what I've had to do all summer.  Eat cheaply.  Keep the lights off as much as possible.  Open the windows to cool off.  If Bernie Sanders is elected and passes the $15 minimum wage, I would be able to afford to save some money possibly.  I would be able to put a few dollars away in case I have an emergency.

I plan to hit the streets for Bernie Sanders to help him win.  I've told all my co-workers about him already and several of them are excited for him too.  When you vote in the election, please do remember the working poor and the middle class.  Many middle class people are on the brink of becoming poor and are one problem away from it.

Please vote Bernie Sanders."

note:  I normally don't copy an entire letter or article into a post.  I made an exception here, due to the power of this piece in its entirety, and its relative brevity.

What a way cool idea. I have never wanted to be cremated, and I never wanted a coffin. I want to be bedded in the ground on flowers with a silk wrapping. I'd do this tho.

Here is another alternative....

How do we get out of this MESS?

from +Bernie Sanders' recent interview in the Washington Post:
"So we have to very straightforwardly and unashamedly address this wealth inequality. We have come up with some tax proposals already, which begins that process – a transaction tax on Wall Street, a program that would end the ability of corporations to stash their money in the Cayman Islands..
When we are seeing a massive redistribution of wealth since 1985 from the middle class to the top one tenth of one percent, our economic goals have got to be to redistribute that wealth back to the people who had it. How do you do that? You start, you have to create decent-paying jobs. I have introduced legislation that would spend about $1 trillion over the next five years to rebuild our crumbling infrastructure. That would create about 13 million new jobs and maintain some jobs. Clearly, we’ve got to raise the minimum wage to a living wage, which would be $15 an hour. We need pay equity for women."    http://goo.gl/Ent4Q4         http://goo.gl/f6e9Fb

INFO REQUEST! Please folks, if there's anybody out there who meets ALL of the following criteria, then I need to know...

If you:
- use Google+ daily, or at least almost daily, for posting comments and sharing posts or pictures.
AND
- Use the G+ Android app as your Primary method of using the plus
AND
- Have done so for at least the last three months continually.
AND
- Have NO complaints about speed or "App Not Responding" errors. (complaints about features are fine).

If you can agree with all these things, then I want to know what Android device you are using. Also details about it like whether it's rooted, what version of Android, if you use any system monitoring apps, things like that.

There's got to be some device out there that this crap works on. Whatever the programmers use to write the program, probably. I need to upgrade, mine's falling apart anyway - time for a new one. So I want to know which options work best. I'll still probably go with the cheapest thing I find that works, but first knowing what works is vital.

If you know of someone or something that you think fits these criteria, PLEASE send them my way or comment on my post. Or even reshare this if that's what it takes.___Signal boost!

Get to know what he thinks, what he wants to do. His back history is solid.

                                          Why Not?
by Bernie Sanders                                http://goo.gl/KVMHls

Our job is not to think small. It is to think big.

The United States is the wealthiest nation in the history of the world. Why are we so far behind so many other countries when it comes to meeting the needs of working families and the American middle class?

Why doesn't every American have access to healthcare as a basic right?

Why can't every American who is qualified get a higher education, regardless of family income?

Why can't we have full employment at a decent living wage?

Why must many older Americans be forced to choose between paying for food, shelter, or medical care?

Why can't working parents have access to affordable, high-quality childcare?

We should be asking questions like these every day. We have more billionaires in this country than any other nation on earth. We also have more child poverty than any other major industrialized nation. We have the highest rate of student debt. We have more prisoners, more homeless people and more economic inequality.

It doesn't have to be this way. These conditions are the result of deliberate policy decisions. We provide outrageous tax loopholes for billionaires and large corporations. The top tax rate is less than half of what it was during the postwar economic boom. The real minimum wage has fallen dramatically since the 1960s.

We can make better choices. Let's look at some of the issues that matter most to the American people:

Health Care for All

35 million Americans still lack health insurance. Millions of others are under-insured, with high deductibles and copayments that can make needed medical treatment unaffordable.

We are the only major industrialized country in the world that does not provide universal health care for all its citizens. Medicare is much more cost-effective than private insurers, and could serve as the foundation for a single-payer system like those in Great Britain, Spain, Norway, Italy, Iceland and Portugal. Other countries, including Japan, France, Germany, Canada and Denmark, provide universal coverage without a single-payer system but with better controls on costs and service.

If these countries can provide universal health care, why can't we?

Tuition-Free Public Higher Education

Student debt has reached crisis proportions in this country. 41 million Americans are burdened with student debt. Student debt has surpassed credit card debt and is now the second-largest source of personal indebtedness in this country.

People who graduated in 2014 with student debt owed an average of $30,000 each. That's unsustainable, and unforgivable.

College tuition is free in Germany, even for citizens of other countries. It's also free in Denmark, Norway Sweden, Finland, Ireland, Iceland, and Mexico. If they can do it, why can't we? Why do we accept a situation where hundreds of thousands of qualified people are unable to go to college because their families don't have enough money?

Paid Family Leave

We are the only major nation in the world that doesn't guarantee paid time off for new parents. Of 182 nations that do provide paid leave, more than half guarantee at least 14 weeks off.

In Great Britain, new mothers get 40 weeks of paid leave. 70 percent of countries offer paid leave to new fathers as well. Dads get two weeks of paid leave in Great Britain, Denmark, and Austria.

We are a nation that prides itself on its dedication to family values. Why can't we ensure that new parents have time to bond with their children?

Sick Leave

Even when working Americans face a serious disease like cancer, they have no guarantee of paid sick leave.

The average worker in other developed countries is guaranteed paid sick leave for long-term cancer treatment, for periods that range from 22 days in Canada to 44 days in Germany and 50 days in Norway.

We are the only one of 22 wealthy nations that does not guarantee some type of paid sick leave. When will we join the rest of the world in ensuring that ailing workers can get well without going broke?

Paid Vacation

We are the only advanced economy, and one of only 13 nations in the entire world, that doesn't guarantee workers a paid vacation. Workers in France get an entire month of paid time off every year. Scandinavian workers are guaranteed 25 paid vacation days per year. In Germany the figure is 20 days, and Japan and Canada each guarantee 10 paid vacation days per year.

It's common (although not guaranteed) for higher-paid American workers to get some vacation time. But half of all low-wage workers in this country get no paid time off at all.

Overwork

Americans are overworked in other ways, too. Despite huge increases in productivity over the last 100 years, Americans continue to work some of the longest hours on earth. Vast majorities of working people (85.8 percent of men and 66.5 percent of women) work more than 40 hours per week. Compare that to a country like Norway, where only 23 percent of males and 8 percent of females work more than 40 hours per week.

Every year Americans work 137 hours more than Japanese workers, 260 hours more than British workers, and 499 hours (62.3 days) more than French workers -- despite the fact that productivity has risen 400 percent since 1950!

Other countries are moving in the opposite direction. Spain, Norway, and the Netherlands have all shortened their workweeks to 35 hours. Interestingly, those countries have higher productivity than those with a 40-hour workweek.

We're also spending more years of our life at work. Millions of Americans are delaying retirement -- and, in some cases, working until the day they die. Polls have shown that a third of Americans are afraid they will never be able to retire.

Inequality

We're lagging behind in other areas too, ranging from childcare costs to internet access. We can and must do better. That means addressing the great economic, political, and moral issue of our time: wealth and income inequality. We have more inequality today than at any time since 1928. That is unacceptable.

We must send a simple message to the billionaire class: You can't have it all.

They will argue, of course. So will the politicians who serve them. They will insist that we can't do better, that we can't have the same basic rights as citizens of other countries.

It's time to ask them, and ourselves, a simple but very important question: Why not?

The Secret Loves of Geek Girls
a Kickstarter project

This already-seriously cool deal has been made even more seriously cool by the new found knowledge that Margaret Atwood can draw!

The Secret Loves of Geek Girls is the brainchild of Hope Nicholson, a Canadian comic-book publisher and editor, who called it “a celebration of the stories we tell each other but never make public – until now”. Atwood is the most high-profile of a host of women, both creators and fans, contributing a mix of prose stories and comics to the anthology.

How I hope this spreads. The idea of a system treating people as people, of doing what is right instead of what is easy or "the rules"....

"Calabrese was using what have become the four principles of procedural justice: first, that people who come before a judge trust that the process is impartial; second, that they are treated with respect; third, that they understand what is going on and what they are expected to do; fourth, that they have a voice. Defendants find the procedure fairer when they are allowed to state their views. Experimental evidence shows that this is true even when they are allowed to speak only after the judge has announced their decision. No one likes to lose a court case. But people accept losing more willingly if they believe the procedures used to handle their case are fair."

Since I have been noticing how MANY people are being prescribed anti-depressants.... passing this on so that info is spread.

Are Psych Drugs Killing 500,000 Seniors?

By Margie King June 23, 2015

Does the long term use of psychiatric drugs cause more harm than good?

Yes, says Professor Peter C. Gotzche.

And, he contends, the harm done by psych drugs causes a shocking 500,000 deaths in adults aged 65 and older every year in the Western World.

Professor Gotzche is a professor at the Nordic Cochrane Centre in Denmark, part of the prestigious Cochrane Collaboration.

He presented his argument in the 52nd Maudsley Debate at King's College London.[i]  The Maudsley Debates take place three times a year at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN) of King's College.

How could this information go unnoticed?

Professor Gotzche blames biased drug trials.

Almost all randomized trials include patients already taking another psychiatric drug.

They are taken off their medication, and after a short "wash-out" period, are randomized to a placebo or the test drug.

But the patients going "cold turkey" are dealing with withdrawal symptoms.

As a group they make the new drug look good in comparison.

In addition, Professor Gotzche blames under-reporting of deaths in drug company trials.

As an example, he cites studies showing 14 suicides per 9,956 patients (a .14% rate) taking fluoxetine (Prozac) or paroxetine (Paxil).

But because the FDA only included adverse events occurring up to 24 hours after patients stop taking the drug, they report only 5 suicides in 52,960 patients or just .0009%.

Based on statistics like those and other studies, Professor Gotzche estimates there are 15 times more suicides among people taking antidepressants than are reported by the FDA.

He also looked at Danish prescription statistics to determine the number of deaths in people 65 and older from antipsychotics, benzodiazepines, and antidepressants.

He conservatively estimated that the death rate from antipsychotic drugs in that group is 1%.  For benzodiazepines he estimated the death rate at 1% and for antidepressants 2%.

Based on those death rates he estimated that approximately 539,000 people over 65 die from these drugs in the U.S. and European Union combined.

Compared to the minimal benefits of these drugs, Professor Gotzche calls for stopping almost all psychotropic drugs.

He advocates stopping ALL antidepressants, ADHD drugs, and dementia drugs.

He also calls for using only a fraction of the antipsychotics and benzodiazepines currently in use.

And because psychotropic drugs are so harmful when used long term, he advocates restricting them to acute situations and only with a plan in place for tapering them off.

Older adults are particularly vulnerable to benzodiazepines and other psychotropic drugs.

They have a more difficult time eliminating them from their bloodstreams.

The drugs can accumulate in the body and increase the risk of overdose.

Common side effects of these drugs include:

Dizziness
Unsteady gait, falling, hip fractures
Impaired thinking, and memory loss
Nausea
Diarrhea
Sexual dysfunction
Insomnia
Fatigue

It's even estimated that psych meds put 49 million Americans at risk for cancer.

If you are given a prescription for one of these drugs check the Beers Criteria.

A panel of 11 experts in geriatric care and pharmacology reviewed 2,000 studies on different drugs.  They published a list of 53 medications that may be inappropriate for older adults.  Their guidelines are called the Beers Criteria.  Click here to check your drugs against the Beers Criteria:

http://www.americangeriatrics.org/files/documents/beers/2012AGSBeersCriteriaCitations.pdf

Even if a drug is on the list it may be essential for some patients, so talk to your doctor.
