Why I'll continue using Instagram

I'm sharing an email that I sent to my colleagues at onOne about this whole insane overreaction to Instagram's ToS revision. I hope it helps balance what already is a very one-sided reaction:

"...This whole torch and pitchfork mob mentality that has sparked online since yesterday's announcement is not surprising. It happens anytime the topics of copyright, ownership, or potential income is mentioned. Look at it in three ways:

1. If you're truly (and I really stress this) concerned about how your images could be used, why would you be posting them on a shared social media network? A stock or working photographer would be using his/her own proprietary website and/or a bonafide stock agency like Getty, iStockPhoto, etc to promote and sell their images... not Facebook or Instagram.

My good friend +Marcel Schmitz developed Heliog, an amazing iOS app for manage and sharing photos using a Dropbox account. I've been a beta tester of the app and all I can say is that it will change the way I storage and show photos to my clients on the go. It's not on the Apple Store yet but it will be very soon. He's also the developer of FlickrBoard (http://flickrboardapp.com/).
