Guy finds most valuable comic book ever. Gets in argument. Comic gets ripped.
An original Action Comics #1 recently fetched $2.16 million at auction (http://bit.ly/11je0rl). The most ever paid.
This was the first Superman comic and the introduction of the character. A guy found another copy hidden in insulation in a wall. He and a relative got into a debate over its value and the back cover was torn off. Ugh...

This is hysterical. After video of his falling asleep during an interview went viral (http://on.mash.to/12SKoQ1) he explained that it was all a misunderstanding:
"Regarding my recent interview, I wasn't exactly sleeping. I'm a beta tester for Google Eyelids and I was merely taking the opportunity to update my Facebook page."

I'm a huge fan and Piano Man was one of the first songs I learned to sing and play on the harmonica. I saw Billy and Elton John in concret. We were in the 8th row. It was fantastic.

The media is freaking out because President Obama forgot to salute a Marine. They shouldn't.
First of all, only people in uniform usually salute. An officer in civilian clothes wouldn't salute. Gen. Dwight Eisenhower did not return salutes when President. No other Presidents had either. It is a way to note that the military is controlled by civilians.
President Reagan started the tradition in 1981 as a show of respect. It was controversial at the time. President Clinton saluted troops and that was controversial as well since he was not a veteran.
I am for it. But isn't really protocol. And in this case, President Obama's head was somewhere else and he realized it and when back outside to say 'oops.'
This is a non issue. Presidents have a lot on their plate. So does the country. I'm sure Fox will talk about this all day though.... more »

Google Said to Consider Buying Waze Presaging Bidding War - Bloomberg
Waze is fielding expressions of interest from multiple parties and is seeking more than $1 billion, said one of the people, who asked not to be identified because the talks are private. The Palo Alto, California-based startup might also remain independent, instead seeking to raise a round of venture capital financing, the people said.

Lady in Michigan rents chickens
This is odd but kind of cool. Leslie Suitor launched Rent-A-Chicken and people pay $250 for a couple hens, a coop and feed for the spring and summer and then turn them back in for the winter. (They are labeled in case you want the same one back next year...)
There are even walking tours of people's homes who have chickens. They're called 'Coop Loops.'

Interesting piece from actor, former US Senator and Watergate minority counsel Fred Thompson. He says that when Lerner (the woman in charge of the IRS employees who targeted conservative groups) invoked her 5th Amendment right to not answer questions yesterday, it may have been too late.
You can't selectively refuse to answer questions. You either testify or you don't. She had previously answered some committee questions and also read an opening statement asserting she had commited no crime nor violated any IRS policy.

Cleveland Kidnap Rescuer Charles Ramsey Offered Free Burgers For Life
You can't make this stuff up: "We want to honor our local hero with local food," said Scott Kuhn of Driftwood Restaurant Group, which operates four of the restaurants participating in the offer. "He stopped his meal midway through to help those women. We're now making sure he has other opportunities to go out and fully enjoy his burger."
More than a dozen restaurants have offered free burgers. One has named one after Ramsey, who burst to prominence after noting he was "just eating his McDonald's" when he happened by the home where three kidnap victims were being held.

Today I decided to write a book. Phew.
Based on my Tips and Tricks for Hangouts on Air and Marketing Guide for Hangouts on Air, I wrote up a big ebook on how to run and market your Hangouts on Air. It's completely revised, expanded and improved based on what I've learned after running literally hundreds of Hangouts on Air.
This is a rough draft of the book, but I've made it open to the public, and anyone can make comments. Please let me know if there are any ideas you'd like me to include. At some point I'll actually get it designed, with picture examples and then release it as a free PDF.

I just watched this guy slice up some really cool meatloaf. Looked delicious!
I know there is melodrama, silly rules and they are very low budget. But I love to cook and I always learn something and they are fun. If I ever had to compete on one of these I would get creamed. (See what I did there...)
I can tell you from my time on the Real Housewives of DC set that the drama is often real. When they seem mad at each other they really are. I also know they specifically pick out people who will clash or be odd for good TV.

The craziest thing was watching some lady with her stroller just walk by as the big muslim with two big blood-soaked knives has a mini press conference to explain why he had just murdered some random guy.

The cops came and took both of the terrorists down. Medieval animals.

This will be a shock coming from me. I am not in any way an Apple fanboy. But I always try to tell the truth. This is a MUST SEE video. I wish it had outgoing Sen. Carl Levin's angry response in it as well. I was watching the live stream and it wasn't pretty...
Apple is following the law. If the lawmakers want to change the law, do it. But don't drag America's successful CEOs before a committee for a show trial that only proves how hypocritical Congress actually is.
Any corporation that voluntarily pays more taxes than it is legally required to pay would be sued by its shareholders. The United States has a corporate rate of 35%, one of the highest in the world.
Rand Paul is obviously running for president and this was clearly political theater. But it was great theater.... more »

The latest HTC news is sad. I wish they'd come out with a stock Android One.
We need strong players in the game. The HTC One is a fantastic phone. I really like their commitment to good audio! It's a big deal as more of us want to be able to stick a phone on a car seat on speaker mode and be able to hear. Even with the air conditioning on full blast.
When I mentioned that Samsung was partnering with Google on an S4 with stock Android, +Craig Shipp's first comment was "If it was an HTC One I'd buy it."

Here's a beautiful vegan magazine with some neat non-dairy milk recipes
I went vegan for a while and lost a ton of weight. I fell off the wagon one day at Sam's Club in Lynchburg, Va. They were giving away free samples of their hot pepperoni pizza and that was all she wrote...
I am not a milk drinker but I love my cheese.
Anyway, there are some really crazy milk recipes in here. Everything from oats to hemp seeds. Even sunflower seed milk!

VIDEO: Record-setting Burmese python captured in Florida
Release: A Miami man has caught and killed the longest Burmese python ever captured in Florida: 18 feet, 8 inches. The python was a 128-pound female that was not carrying eggs, according to University of Florida scientists who examined the snake. The previous record length for a Burmese python captured in the wild in Florida was 17 feet, 7 inches.
On May 11, Jason Leon was riding late at night in a rural area of southeast Miami-Dade County when he and his passenger spotted the python. About 3 feet of the snake was sticking out of the roadside brush. Leon stopped his car, grabbed the snake behind its head and started dragging it out of the brush. 3D-printable food? NASA wants a taste
"NASA has bestowed a $125,000 grant upon a research corporation to pursue the development of 3D-printable food, according to a report from Quartz. Anjan Contractor, who runs Systems & Materials Research Corporation, hopes to design a system that will turn shelf-stable cartridges of sugars, complex carbs, and protein into edible food on demand."

Recent Update
Many thanks to the great and might Hangouts API team, for because of their work, I've been able to add two valuable new features:
► "YouTube Stream" now allows you to cycle between three states:
☼ FOCUSED FEED (Always display main feed only)
☼ HANGOUT VIEW (Always display main feed and filmstrip)
☼ AUTO (Automatically hide filmstrip when there is one user)
► "Notifications" can now be set to default to "Audible" or "Muted" for new users entering the Hangout. No more [ding] every time something happens in the Hangout :).
Please remember to set Notifications early! I believe it affects new participants as they enter, not those already in the Hangout.
As always, your feedback makes things happen, so please let me know how it goes.
