I love this poem and have always thought of it as having a sort of melancholy romance, but the last verse taken in isolation potentially has a completely different atmosphere.

I was inspired by the concept of desperately trying to stay awake in what should be beautiful surroundings, but everything is tinged with exhaustion-induced paranoia.

This image is a digital overlay, a digital darkroom technique comprised of layering separate images (three, in this case) to create one picture in the way that one piece of photographic paper could be exposed to a number of individual negatives to create one finished print.

I recently took part in a Naming Ceremony ritual for a friend’s daughter and was given Pinkie Pie as a thank you gift. Not that I’m obsessively into kitsch tat or anything. Much. One day I will grow up and stop liking My Little Pony and Hello Kitty. Maybe.

This is Erin, Beltane Fire Society's May Queen. There are lots of gorgeous photos of her in full character and costume, so she wanted pictures which showed her personality as well as that of the Goddess aspect she embodies every year at Beltane.

Her make-up (which I did - I love creating looks!) isn't the traditional May Queen make-up. The white base and red vertical line are elements of her Beltane manifestation but in general, it's an interpretation based on the character but also on Erin's own lovely combination of tom-boy strength and natural femininity.
