Using a gene from a jellyfish, allowing them to produce a green fluorescent protein, scientists in Uruguay have announced the world's first genetically-modified phosphorescent sheep. IS IT A HOAX?

My first reaction to this news was thinking that it was a hoax. While reading I realised that it comes with 'Stanford seal' which makes it no hoax.

Dr Steven Greer, who led the project and documentary, has hit back at critics who claim the body is a hoax.
'The CAT scan clearly shows internal chest organs -lungs and what  appears to be the remains of a heart structure,' he said.
'There is absolutely no doubt that the specimen is an actual organism and that it is not a hoax of any kind. 
'This fact has been confirmed by Dr. Nolan and Dr. Lachman at Stanford.'

So there we go .. they found something that is going to create an HUGE debate ....

American author, inventor and futurist Raymond Kurzweil has become well known for predicting the future of artificial intelligence and the human race. His first book, The Age of Intelligent Machines, published in 1990, put forth his theories on the results of the increasing use of technology and predicted the explosive growth in the internet, among other predictions. Later works, 1999's The Age of Spiritual Machines and 2005's The Singularity is Near outlined other theories including the rise of clouds of nano-robots called foglets and the development of Human Body 2.0 and 3.0, whereby nanotechnology is incorporated into many internal organs.

This video, released by the IDSIA Robotics Lab as part of the ongoing work in the EU-funded project IM-CLeVeR, shows recent skills learned by the iCub humanoid.

The IM-CleVeR project, launched in 2009, aims at “developing a new methodology for designing robots that can cumulatively learn new skills through autonomous development based on intrinsic motivations, and reuse such skills for accomplishing multiple, complex, and externally-assigned tasks.”

This documentary gives an overview of the technologies, architectures and algorithms required to make this humanoid robot learn more autonomously. Skills include active perception, reasoning and manipulation of the environment.

Samsung is researching how to bring mind control to its mobile devices with the hope of developing ways for people with mobility impairments to connect to the world.
