Announcing the continuation of +Waterscape Art Wednesday

Still Life Painting on Canvas "Love Triangle" by Jill Saur

This 36"x48" over-sized painting, "Love Triangle", hangs in the home of a patron who had their eye on it for over a year before they purchased it. I've also reproduced this in a hand-embellished limited edition giclee on canvas, for clients who need a focal point for their room and who love the story this painting tells.
This painting is about unrequited love. The two pears on the left represent two people in a relationship, ignoring the third suitor on the right, who eventually has to turn away. Unrequited love is painful. But what we want, is not always what we nee... more »

There are now over 400 themes, theme pages, and perhaps as many as 1000 curators but not all themes are created equal. I often talk about what it means to me to curate a theme and how I view things. To me, the best themes are the ones that have highly interactive curators and a theme page. To me, a theme page says the curator cares about the theme and about the community. I posted a butterfly a few days ago from my recent visit to the local Papiliorama, geodesic dome housing a tropical garden and dozens of species of butterflies. This little guy was hiding in the plans but I sort of snuck up on him.

After a rather long gap I finally have something to share. This was an assignment where we had to put a crouching figure in context and create a narrative along with good sense of foreground, middle and background. I asked my roommate to pose and took a picture of her. Used the photographic reference to sketch this in charcoal.
