The Mushroom Fountain

Fountain located at Frauenplatz, Munich. This place is perfect for hot summer days, where you can find nice place to take some rest and cool a little bit, and during night it becomes really a beautiful place.

Sunset over Arrecife

It's been long time without sharing anything, so it's time to add something for you, especially that I see a lot of new followers :) I took this picture during the recent holidays, shortly after sunset over city Arrecife. At the ocean you can see a lot of swaying boats, while in the background you can see volcanoes of Lanzarote.

Somewhere over Alps

Maybe not the best shot, but you know, sometimes it's kinda hard to make a good photo from the plane. Dirty windows, sun shining in your direction etc. But to see this view over the mountains - priceless. So maybe some of you will like it.

Today something for #caturday curated by +Lee Daniels and +Christophe Friedli. This is one from a pack of several wild cats I've met during my last vacations. They were rather shy and scared if one was trying to play with them, but they liked when someone was bringing them any food. Cat from photo below was very lazy, he spent most of his time in this position, but in its own way he was charming.

Charco de los Clicos

For some it'll be good news, for others not, but... I'm back! ;)
But seriously, after several days of my absence, finally I had some time to process some photos to share them with you. Below you can see Charco de los Clicos - azure pond, situated near El Golfo on Lanzarote (Canary Islands). The whole area of the pond is a remnant of the explosion of underwater volcano. The pond itself is filled with ocean water, which owes its color to endemic algae. Beautiful place, beautiful views. Simply a 'must see' on Lanzarote.

Autumn colors

Winter is coming (sigh)... but fortunately we still have an autumn. And its beautiful colors on every step. So as I had some free time last weekend, I went with my friends to Lednice (Czech Republic) to take some pictures of the castle which is located there, and take a walk in castle's park. Views were really stunning, so I came back home with almost no pictures of the castle, and a lot of tree photos. Here's one from this walk, hope you'll enjoy it.

Waiting for a train

This picture was taken in Vytopna, restaurant in Brno city. In this restaurant you'll find railway that brings drinks to every table. Very original idea and design of railway makes this restaurant really popular here in Brno. If some of you will come to Brno one day, I recommend to you to go there and drink some good beer :)

Shot from Brno's Zoo several months ago. I love cats. BIG cats. So shot of a tiger was "a must" during my visit in zoo. Fortunately I had luck with catching a moment, when tiger stopped for a moment during his walk, and turn his head in my direction. I didn't missed that opportunity, and here's the result. Enjoy

Today's theme is #FireworksFriday, curated by +Jörg Seidel.

Since few years, end of May/beggining of June, there is huge cultural event organised in Brno (Czech Republic) called Ignis Brunensis. During 2 weeks of event, there are trade fairs, shows, performances, cinema shows and other. But the main point of program are fireworks. Every 2-3 days there is big fireworks show. First and last shows are usually started from Spielberk Castle and rest of them (usually 4) from Brno's Dam. Spectacular shows are presented by teams from all over the Europe. Every show last approx. 30 minutes. Every show is being watched by approx. 200.000 people. As we have today #FireworksFriday - one shot from Ignis for you (you can find more in my albums).

One shot to share with you from my trip to Chocholowska (sorry, can't be translated to English :)) Valley in Tatry mountains (Poland), during my short vacations in June. First day with a little bit of the sun on the sky after 4 rainy days in mountains - a nice change. Happiness didn't last long though, because one hour later it started raining again. But it was enough to take a few shots from that walk without having to carry umbrella over my Canon.

I just heard that, after a long illness, Dennis Ritchie (dmr) died at home this weekend. I have no more information.

I trust there are people here who will appreciate the reach of his contributions and mourn his passing appropriately.

He was a quiet and mostly private man, but he was also my friend, colleague, and collaborator, and the world has lost a truly great mind.
