Jeff Smith62,371Welcome to The Selfy Sunday Project for *December 2/12* _PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS EVENT IS NOT FOR THIS SUNDAY, NOV. 25/12._ Theme: *Bond, James Bond!* I want to see Selfy's that are inspired by *007* and the James Bond films. Lots exotic locations, action packed chases as well as numerous villains and sexy leading ladies to offer inspiration here. Or just stick to a more general "SPY" or cloak and dagger noire theme. Either way it should be fun. _Props may come in handy here!_ ________________________________ The Halloween SSP was the scariest, most ghoulish, terrifying Selfy Sunday ever. This is already on the Bearded Guy's  FB page (well, he did take the picture), so I'm posting it here.
Yes, I've already informed my Mom, my children and my best friend here in Sweden who has been through this whole thing about being an immigrant here with me.

I'm officially a dual citizen.

Now, how do I fix my flag on Circle Count?  :D

This is what my art table looks like after half a night of attempting to re-create two manicures for a swap challenge.

I used every brush, every tweezer, every one of the bottles on that palette pad, the sponges, the scissors, the vaseline, the cotton... all of that.
Now I get the fun of cleaning it all up!

Finally worked on the challenge after we worked very hard to make sure two episodes of scripts were turned in to the client. Editing done, proofing done, final small adjustments made and save the work and send it in! This is part of a huge project and I gotta say, it's been fantastic to work on. There's still more, too. Wheeeeee!

Another job waits for me now. I'm halfway through my part of it, then I turn it over to the Bearded Guy for final editing.

As to the cleaning... yeah, well, the bedroom can wait. We are adults and... more »

I'm not a Viking.
Yes, I am a new Swede, but I am not a Viking. I can't take this cold.
So I happily sit in my couch fortress and work like crazy (9 days in a row so far, I'm exhausted! but it's not finished) rather than leave my warm spot and brave those negative degrees.

We have the Pocket Viking tonight - and the Bearded Guy has a plan to take the little guy on his pulka to the park and have some fun pulling him around on the snow/ice tomorrow.
Yeah. You can find me right here with my hot chocolate and my fingers going crazy on the typing. There's work to be done!

The photo is what my nails SHOULD look like - they have been neglected with all the work lately.... this shot is from 2013 and is a technique I want to do again. Maybe in different colors.

On a brighter note, however - my clients can be such fun. I have one in particular who likes getting daily updates on project progress. We chatter in email a little - sure, it breaks up my work flow, but it's also a good way to feel out the next set of projects and keep my name on the list of freelancers to call. We've been discussing the benefits and downfalls of sugar during the work day. When to drop what you're doing and find a cookie, when to just walk away from that donut table.
He's fun.

Goodmorneve and water for the evening, Giggleplus!
I'm tired, my brain doesn't want to do any more translating, but there are 2 videos due on Monday and 1 book piece due back ASAP for first-round editing and one script for prep for the next version which will be here next week and a second script that is on hold for just another day or two while I clear this desk.
Do you work all week, or actually take a weekend?
Freelancers - do you prefer to work through projects and then take a longer period off? A month of work and a week of nothing, for instance?___

The Bearded Guy picked up the Pocket Viking this morning to take him to day care. It's an hour of fun for both of them - getting dressed, taking the bus, general chatter.
And some days are more fun than others.

Today, in the stairwell ... (This was all in Swedish, but I'm going to give the translation)

PV: This is the magical cave.
BG: So what's in the magical cave?
PV: Gold.

BG: What do you do with the gold?
The Pocket Viking hesitated, so the Bearded Guy asked:
BG: Do you buy things with it?

PV: No.
BG: Do you just keep it to look at it?
PV: No.

BG: So what do you do with it?
The Pocket Viking thought for a moment before answering...

PV: You open it up and eat the Pirate Chocolate inside.

Permission given!
Little J was born 11:45AM
Weighing 7lbs 3.1oz
19in long

Daddy and big brother get a peek, too.
The little guys will share a birthday. Little D is two years old and how many kids get to say they got a little brother for a birthday present?

:D

Too early, but I am waiting for photo permission on the new baby.

That minus sign in front of the 16 means my waiting will be done indoors!

For my Fahrenheit crew... 19 inside equates to 66 and that -16 is still a positive number, but a low one. 3.

The only saving grace at all is the lack of wind.

Goodmorneve and hot coffee, Giggleplus!
Do you have a temp number that says to you : Too cold to be outside?

:)

I've just received word that grandchild number 8 has arrived.
No details aside from the little guy has arrived.

Waiting for photos and such.

I had planned to be able to travel and see this tiny new family member, but some other things have required those funds. It's okay, that just means the travel is postponed.

In the meantime, there is work to be done. Three more scripts! And a book piece as well. I'm thrilled about the work and that definitely takes away the pain of not being able to go right away.

Goodmorneve, Giggleplus!
I'd hand out cigars, but even the chewing-gum version doesn't agree with me. Coffee and tea and new baby cakes?

Photographers - I have a question.
The Bearded Guy is looking at an organization and I'd like to get your thoughts on this.

World Photography Organization
www.worldphoto.org

Mainly because it's only a few years old (2007), I'd like y'all's opinions.
Good? Not good? Scam-in-the-making? Valid org?

Do any of you enter, or have you previously entered their yearly competitions?
The fee is minor (50 GBP per year for the premium version), but is it worth getting into this?

Too early on a Monday morning, but when you are up all night, things come up and questions get asked. Do any of my wonderful G+ photographers have answers on this one?

Thanks!

I've mentioned that I love translating scripts, right?
Well, sometimes that pays off even later on.

Two years ago, the scripts were translated. Two days ago, I got the project back - this time for the subtitles!

While part of me says "Oh, this will be easy!", the reality is that between script and final video, some things are changed. So it's not necessarily easy, but it's definitely fun!

Not yet done with Christmas for the grandchildren and godchildren, but well on our way.
Not yet done with the laundry (is that ever done?) or the dishes (same question), but the bills are paid and the work is fabulous.

Goodmorneve and coffee, Giggleplus!
Yes, it's the weekend, yes we are working.
But not because we are in retail -
and thank you to each of you who does work retail during this season!

Yes, we will be going to the Star Wars movie.

In Sweden, when you buy tickets to the movies, you get assigned seating. Just like going to the opera or ballet or some concerts, we know where we will sit.

However -
We bought 5 tickets in round one of this. Making sure our group would sit together.
Then our friends bought two tickets in the row behind that group.
Then I realized we were a ticket short - bought a single... and that ended up being in the row with our friends, but I'm not sure if it's next to them or not.
And then... (oh yes, there's more!), bought another single ticket as our darling Intern-Turned-University-Student has come home for the holidays!, and that ticket is in the row in front of the first five. So two singles, a set of five and a set of two.
And get this - the first show isn't sold out yet.

I wonder what the chances are of them letting us adjust the seats and get them all together?

Do you ever buy for groups and end of having to do singles because you can't count? (This is not the first time I have had this problem.)___

Sleep should not avoid me this way. Ah, well.
Paid work is getting done. Games are being played. Coffee is my friend - with chocolate in it, so I am getting a little tired.

Sometimes it is good to be up in the earliest hours of the morning, when all the drunks have gone home and the world has not yet risen to start Sunday.

Dug into some older photos and found this from 2011. It's actually one of my favorite shots. We have a 24-hour clock on our kitchen wall. A couple of years ago, it fell and the glass cracked, but we still have it up. And I managed to catch the buildings across the street from us, the reflection from the window on the opposite wall, in the reflection of the clock glass.
Yeah, I'm amused easily.

Oh, boy.
A little Pocket Viking has decided that it's morning now. Knew this was coming, but it's still a little early generally.

More coffee, please! He doesn't go to daycare for another hour and a half!

We had a great time with him last night, though. Decorated gingerbread cookies and he sat with me for his dinner. Best-Ever-Big-Sister joined us for a while before heading home to Lovely Mommy.

Time to wake up. Coffee, maybe some breakfast, and then work to be done. There is always something to be done.

Goodmorneve, Giggleplus!
Nightowl adults and early bird children - how do you manage that combination?

Sunday noon.
Lots of work. This is a good thing.
Messy kitchen. This is a bad thing.

New medication. For the first time in my life, I've been prescribed a medication that I may have to take for the rest of my life. I'm leaning toward "bad" on this one, but if it helps me get back on my feet and drop the extra weight and lose the pain then I'll relabel it a good thing.
Because I'm only on day 2 of this, I can't speak to efficacy as yet.
And there is a possibility that this medication will go away and something else will take its place.

My nail polish needs changing.
My piano is no longer dusty, but I'm not sure what's coming out of it can currently be called music. More like off-kilter scales and questionable attempts at songs. Needs more work.

My camera is sad and lonely. I can barely get me out of the house, taking the camera out is just not in the cards right now.
The art supplies are all out of sight.
So are the sewing supplies.
Current writing project is on hold while the work gets done.

It appears that my creative streak can only handle one thing at a time now. I don't know if that's a result of the physical issues or a sign of mental issues to watch out for. I feel okay in my head. I think. I think.
It's the body which is in need of a trade-in. :D

The weather is weird, but I'll take the rain.
My cane is on a buddy's list of to-do things - yes, he's gonna light me up!
There are cookies and candies. Life is pretty good when I can still have cookies and candies.

And in another hour or so, I'll pull out some candles. Candle light always helps.

Goodmorneve and Coffee, Giggleplus!
I just re-read this and it sounds a bit depressing - but it sounds worse than reality. I'm in a good mood. And I can indeed still leave my couch fortress. As bad as it can sound, the reality is truly not horrendous.
How about some coffee and cookies, then we'll get back to work and cleaning?
:D

Yay for paid work!
And for a new client! Second in a week.

We don't know if the two new ones will be repeat customers - most likely these are one-shot projects. But even so, new customers can be good references.

Painted the Bearded Guy's nails with a glitter polish he chose.

Second cup of coffee, and second video file of the day ready to go.
Do you start work as soon as you sit down, or do you goof off a while first?
Me? An hour of goofing off - minimum!

Lussekatter. Or saffron buns. Normally with raisins or plain. But here, in our household, a little lingonberry works better than raisins.

I used stirred berries rather than the jam version. Still, maybe it would be better to find whole berries.

Yes, this just happened in my kitchen.

Nope, I will not show the kitchen itself. That would frighten people.

:)

Some tea with one of these, maybe. Saving the rest for company tomorrow - we put off the visit one more day.

While I wait for the doctor to verify and diagnose and prescribe, I have been doing some research on his theory.

Hypothyroidism.
The symptoms seem to match. The bloodwork has been taken and he will call during the week, but in the meantime, I've asked my daughter (she's a CNA) what her opinion was of the possible medications and what she would think I should expect.
Of course, I will take these questions to the doc once he's made a definite diagnoses. What I'm asking her is all part of my research.

It's my last chocolate coffee of the day - I'm going to water after this. We're expecting company later, so I'm going to have to get out of my couch fortress and pick up a few little things that are bothering me about my house being "presentable".

How much time do you spend researching possibilities before hearing the actual diagnosis from your Doctor?
And how much do you clean before company comes?___

Such an odd place for it to be left in, but it was found AFTER he went to the police station and filled out the report.
He's on the phone with them right now, to cancel the report.

The Bearded Guy has lost his phone.
Because it was nearly dead on the battery when he last used it to call me, even Find My Phone won't work.
It's offline, it has no power.

He thought he left it in a store. But they don't have it.
Which means it almost has to be here in the apartment. But we can't find it.

So once his day with his Mom is over, he'll be going by the police station to see if by chance, someone turned it in.
Otherwise, it's a report of a lost phone.

Why would we do that? Well, recently he was given an attachment piece to the phone, and it holds all his cards. ID card, credit cards, business cards...
Yeah, those are missing too.

What a pain.

On the floor with the crayons, for instance.

As part of our out-and-about-shopping yesterday, the Bearded Guy and I each got new headphones.

I have had two days of posts that went only to my private circle - photos taken, meant to be shared.

Either roll out that update to me, or don't, but if you won't, then leave the system clear to run.

Though I must say I was sorry to hear that the Plus will stop focusing on the regular posts and go more toward the community and collections side.

A slow start to Monday, but that's okay.
All my paid work has been turned in, and I get a little time to play today alongside the housework.

Best part of the weekend? Actually, a video call with a writer who had positive things to say about the script that is partially written (remember that from a year or so ago?) and some good advice on reworking it. I may learn to do this after all! So until I hear from a client that more edits are needed on a project or something new has come in, that script will be foremost in my mind.

Secondary things include all the lovely details that take my life by storm on a daily basis. Though, thanks to the Bearded Guy's invaluable help this weekend, the kitchen is nearly finished!

How is it that clearing the couch fortress for vacuuming only makes a bigger mess in my office?
At least this time, the studio didn't suffer.

Still working on the kitchen... does that ever end?
Still working on laundry... same song, second verse.
Still working on paperwork... third verse, really?

And I'm waiting for the Bearded Guy so we can finish and send the edits for a script. Other paid work already finished.
Yes, I am a mostly happy girl today. At least as related to my home.

The world?
That's a completely different subject, and I'm not ready to discuss it.

I'm doing a week of 4-times-a-day blood pressure checks. Not liking the Systolic number, though the Diastolic isn't too bad.

I love doing scripts.
Yes, I say that weekly. But it's true.

Writing them is hard work. I'm learning that side of it slowly. Translating what someone else has written is not easy, but it's definitely fun.

So a new project of scripts (YAY!), and some minor cleaning to finish up, but today should be fairly productive as I have sent the Bearded Guy off on a jaunt with the Pocket Viking.

They are off to go see the gallery where the Bearded Guy's show will be in February. He'll try to get a feel for the place, see how many of his pieces will fit comfortably, and maybe get a chance to speak with the gallery director to find out a few more details for his show.

Excitement all around!

Any time we try to link to a specific picture on his private website, it's a toss-up as to whether the right shot will show on his art page. And I'll happily take over the work on that, but getting things to show correctly just ain't easy!___

Oh, the work to be done!
The laundry and dishes are in process, the invoicing is finished for now, the paperwork is done for today - at least as much as I feel comfortable doing.
But I am in two (that's right, two!) beta tests and there is another large project just waiting for the "start now" message to come in.

Beta testing is fun.
One is work-related and one is game-related. That makes it even more fun. I can do work and I can play. Just have to remember to take notes so the testing feedback is done properly.

In the meantime, we've had Best Ever Big Sister and our Pocket Viking here - they are now sent off on two separate adventures of their own. But while they were here, I did some nail stuff.

Oh, the struggle --
We knew we would get the Pocket Viking. So when he arrived, we went shopping and got some things to eat and snack on with him.
But then we got Best Ever Big Sister too! Normally not a problem, but we had not purchased proper food for her. Ouchie!

First thing this morning, The Bearded Guy took both of them to the store and we got some things that she can eat too.

Normally, this would not be an issue. But the things we had that she would usually eat were out of date (!), or just didn't appeal. She wasn't feeling her best, so nothing that was already here looked good. I get it. I do. And it's so hard to not feel good, not want anything, but have a tummy ache.

I feel a little better this morning, now that she has eaten something. And she feels a little better too.

This is the manicure set that +Karen Sulkowski and I swapped for our community challenge.
The upper photos are the originals (mine on the left, her two on the right) and the lower photos are what we each did with the other's inspiration shots.

I am blown away by her work!

This is what my artwork aspires to be - but even as long as I have been doing my nails, there are still things I need practice at. And yet, I am still happy with my own work, so I'm not looking at my nails and saying "eewwww", I'm just looking at my own and saying "okay, that was better than last time".

Thanks to our community for the challenge, and thank you, Karen, for the inspiration pieces and for the amazing piece you did based on mine!

While I wait to share the manicure swap photos (we are sharing them in our community first), I have this to show you.
An obnoxious bottle - but iconic. Louboutin Rouge. And I love it. I love the bottle. The polish? Yes, it's just polish, so it chips and wears like any other polish. But I love the bottle.

In other news... more scripts! Yes, please, and thank you very much, a new project of more scripts has just come in this morning. So thrilled.

But my laundry is still calling my name and I have to get it done, since I'm leaving here for the weekend and clean clothes at my friend's house might be a good idea. I get to visit with two little dogs, my best friend in Sweden and her husband - and we'll try to go see about new sweaters for her puppies. Tiny little Prazky pups, I'm hoping to get some photos of them too.

7 in the morning, huh?

This is what I get for having gone to bed at 8 last night. Was up and out of the bed at 5.
On a good note - the animals are fed, the coffee is hot, the house is quiet, all the local fights from last night were ignored through my snoring and I should be able to get started on laundry in relative peace.

Three of them have a pierced-ear spot on one end, but the one on the far left doesn't have that - only two clip sections. I've not quite figured out how to "install" that one yet. Had a hard time with the one that was for the right ear, too, since I had planned they would all be for the left ear. Ah, well, I'm still learning about these.

I miss my other set. It looked like the Bajoran decorations from Star Trek. Just to be clear, I designed that set LONG before DS9 even came out. But once those were removed (long story!), they never went back in. And yes, I miss them.
This will be a way to decorate my ears again. It's been too long, they feel empty.

Goodmorneve and hot coffee, Giggleplus!
Pierced? C-clips? Clamps? Do you decorate your ears at all?___

I finished at 5 this morning and got up at 10. I'm ready for a nap, I think.
How easy is it for you to forget that a schedule should exist and just ignore "time of day" (or night?)___

Oh, good grief!
I've been neglecting my Giggleplus.

Busy with paid work - have I mentioned that I love scripts? :)  And along with that, there was a rough week emotionally, some body aches, an inability to go to the gym or swimming... just not interested in being online much.

I need to catch up!

Plans - a nail art challenge! I have nekkid nails because I'm about to do a challenge piece. I'll post it after the challenge is over.
Plans - paid work! I think script translation is the most fun type of all the work I do. I think after this set, I might ask something rather bold - may I please meet the original writers and editor? I'd love to have a drink with them and get into their heads a little. But that's just for fun for me.

Plans - clean this place up. Oy veh, when we have a rough week around here, it really shows. The kitchen is pretty good, we tackled that already. But the linens need changing, the vacuum cleaner needs to be brought out and I'm pretty sure there's at least one spot under this couch that would be better served by a mop. Meh.
Plans - fix a set of photos. That's more of me helping the Bearded Guy rather than doing it myself. He did a shoot for a local restaurant, but I'm not thrilled with two of the food shots. We borrowed some spotlights for the original shoot, but honestly, we need our own. And I think two of them can be improved.

Plans - figure out the best way to get the Bearded Guy's artwork to a GALLERY LOCATION!
Yes, you heard that right.
He's been given a show here in Sweden. Nyköping. February.

Speaking of which, there's a new page in town:
https://plus.google.com/100384217817068673249/about

If things work out properly, he'll have a new post every day, a new piece showing every day.
(He's also on some other networks, but I'm only here, so I can't speak to his IG/Twitter/FB, etc.)

Plans - a few more minutes a day devoted to reading G+. I'm missing out on too much!

Goodmorneve and coffee, Giggleplus!
When you watch a movie or television show, do you notice the little things? Such as a car changing color from black to white? Or if a character name changes halfway through?
(That's just one little part of what hits me during translations.)___

After missing so much time, yesterday on the rowing machine was pathetic. 15 minutes, broken into 5-minute sets. And then I was exhausted.
Tried the bike for a while, but just couldn't get comfortable.

Meh.

Today, we went to the pool. Children here are taken for swimming lessons as part of their schooling. It's fun to watch them all jump off the starter blocks and then try to keep heads above water as they finish a lap. But both the Bearded Guy and I are in desperate need of more time in the water. Neither of us can do a full 25-meter lap without panting at the end of it.
And he wants to get strong enough for a triathlon.

I'm learning to love the sauna. Only for 5 minutes, but those are a nice 5 minutes.

After a bit of a difficult week last week, a new week starts today.

Plans include gym, pool, cleaning, paperwork and a little paid work.
Plans also include camera, piano, painting and nail art.
Plans should include sorting and clearing.

So, any bets on how much gets done?

Goodmorneve, Giggleplus!
Coffee, and some more coffee. And a multivitamin because there's a sense of needing a few of those that might not be properly included in the food around here lately.
How much do you look at your intake to see if you are getting the proper vitamins, minerals, proteins that you should? Or does that question only come up when you are sick?

A Pocket Viking and a Best-Ever-Big-Sister are with us this weekend. Might try some painting - we bought a new floor mat yesterday, one that will keep water off the floor and is big enough for both of them to work on.

I'm hoping for some good photographs of them. Then I'll check with Lovely Mommy first before posting.

For the moment, it appears that chips and snacks are the way to go. How long before tummies are full and don't want lunch?

Okay -
We are still trying to find out what actual shipping to the USA would be. Can not yet be sure if it's $40 or $25 or $20. (Roll-type mailer.)

But we are still looking at options. Could be that we send a grouping of them to the States and ask one of my family members to finish the shipping process domestically.

So... Giggleplus circlers, what would you think for this?

Still drinking coffee. A lot of things are happening all at once here and I'm trying to stop and take one thing at a time. hahahah!

Time for some marketing research, folks.
What would you pay for an A1 poster (84 x 59 cm/33 x 23 inches) that looks something like this? Obviously the text would be a bit smaller and probably have different typographical handling - this is basically just my business card blown up.
I'm thinking about 20 Euro (maybe 30 if signed - 22/33 dollars, respectively - plus shipping) would be a decent price. What say ye?___Okay -

Need more sleep.
Got up and decided that it was either a gym day or a pool day.
Finally decided on the pool since a friend is there.
Got all ready to go, went out to the bus stop, and realized I had forgotten my bag of towel, change of clothing, etc.
Sheeeesh.

I'm sitting here now deciding on going to the gym. I have to go soon, they close early on Saturdays.

Just finish this coffee and out the door.

Are you a 5-or7 days a week for your exercise, or are you a skip-a-day and then go back type of person?
I still don't know what I am.

Blank nails, waiting for me to have the patience to use some cuticle conditioners.

Did a full 30 minutes on the rower today, broken into 6-minute sets. Getting there, though slowly.

Am now able to walk in the apartment without much limping, so I am hoping to put the cane away soon.

But there remains the issue of food. In the house currently is not much in the way of creating a healthful meal. But not really into a grocery store trip right now.

The first-world problems faced today.

Goodmorneve, Giggleplus! Water, coffee and decisions today.

Do you shop for The Right Thing, or make do with what is available?

Some good things to hopefully offset the body issues today.
There is paid work! Yay for paid work!
And today, I got word on another project - more scripts. Have I mentioned that I do love the script translations? Very much? A new set comes in shortly!

Tomorrow, at a silly time of morning, I'll be attending a Lindex breakfast. Lindex is my favorite sweater store here. I owned several of their sweaters long before I moved to Sweden.
Then I have a break - during which I will be finishing up the current project of paid work.
And then it's back to the physical therapist for some more voluntary tickling. Yeah, that's what lymph massage feels like.

We made it back to the gym yesterday, but both of us are extra busy on Thursday, so I'm not sure we'll get in any gym time tomorrow. We shall see. If not, then we must do more on Friday, I think.

Oh, where did the coffee go?
I've been drinking so much water, I do believe I've forgotten what coffee tastes like.

Yes, that's an exaggeration.  :)

Two 11-minute runs on the rower. One small step at a time. At this point, sweating is more important than hurting, and regaining some muscle tone and ability to move is FAR more important than almost anything else.

Turned in another portion of the big project today, now we're waiting for the next piece.
And tomorrow? Tomorrow is my first shot at the swim hall in town. A friend will drive me over, stay with me (as my buddy!) while I see how I relate to the pool. Hoping this additional work will make some change in this body. Because frankly, I'm seriously bored with using a cane!

I'm still so frustrated at not having my own accountant. I truly do not understand why the local groups think I'm capable of doing the books myself, when I spend so much time agonizing over the receipts. I'd really rather pay them to do it for me. What am I missing here?

Ah, well.

Trying to lower the caffeine intake around here is not easy. I really suspect it's part of our sleeping issues. Going from masses of caffeine to just a few mugs a day is wreaking havoc with MY system, and probably not helping his.___

Image copied from a Google search for the right type I used today.

At the gym. With the Bearded Guy. And greeted quite warmly by the Head of Everything There, a wonderful woman named Ewa.

In my case, get the weight off my hips and knees, so sitting would be required. Knee bending alone isn't painful, so something that covers leg movements. Plus, since the excess size is in my tummy, something for abs. And my arms have never been strong. Put it all together and I get rowing.
(Remember I also considered the bike - just turned out that wasn't quite as lovely.)

I managed not quite 4 minutes of very easy rowing today. I will return tomorrow in the hope of doubling the time. When I can get to 30 minutes, then it will be time to start increasing the pull.

I'm leaning toward the rowing machine. The weight will be off the legs, so pushing shouldn't be a problem and the last time I had a rowing machine workout (30-some years ago!), it felt fabulous.
Of course it all has to be done in steps. Tiny steps. I don't see me doing much of anything that requires standing to do the workout until I can put the cane to the side and not need that for walking.

Can't use anything on my tummy while this belly is oversized. Can'tdo ... more »

Can't do anything standing up at the moment. And of course the fear is overdoing it.
Is there validity or stupidity involved if I go to the gym in the morning and then to the pool after lunch?

Awake because of the noise outside, but wanting to go back to bed. In the meantime, my brain is in high gear with the knowledge that I now do not have a reason to avoid the gym.___

I think this will work.
The Bearded Guy took a short video of me walking with the cane.

Now that my Mom has seen this, I can let it go public.

The leggings actually hide the compression socks. And while it sort of looks "easy" to walk like this, it's also kind of a drag to carry that cane around. A wrist strap keeps it from falling to the ground if I don't hold the ball tightly enough and I really do not like the black footpiece, but that was the piece needed to keep the cane steady on the ground.

Truthfully - I am grateful that I can indeed use this and feel semi-comfortable doing so. It means I can go, however slowly, to the stores without feeling like every step is a tortuous journey.
