Still working on getting my new rig and applications set up the way I want it and slowly but surely working my way through the backlog of photo editing.
Here is one that I was pleased to get considering my rig isn't ideal for flight photography.

So finally got my new PC up and running and it's such a nice experience to edit photos again!
Here is a photo I took on my recent trip back home to northern Sweden.
Took this with my 600mm while in the shade of a big mountain and of the snow drifting over the peak where the sun was shining.

Storm conditions can hit at any time on the tundra. Conditions had been sunny and basically no wind only 10 minutes prior to me taking this photo.
Two reindeer were gracing the small open patches that the wind had cleared. When the wind whipped up the snow drift together with the falling snow the reindeer tilted it's head to avoid as much of the barrage as it could but you can clearly see the discomfort the conditions were creating.

Took this high key shot (overcast skies) of a bird I've never managed to photograph up until today. I've seen them sporadically but it seems a pair has set up territory in the marsh behind my house.
They were very vocal and managed to snag this shot even though I had my 600 with the 1.4 teleconverter attached and on a tripod.
Not the best setup for flight photos exactly but I am pleased with the result nonetheless.

Now I am not usually the person who complains at #google but the Google Play store and the Movies and TV Shows app in specific have me boiling over with irritation.
I mean seriously how hard is it to build an in house developed application that you have full control over and fail so blatantly at execution?
I have bought TV shows that air this season which means that new content should be pushed to my client as soon as it is available. Not much rocket science to achieve this. Except it doesn't work.....
In order for me to get the latest content I have to uninstall the latest version on my Galaxy Nexus and re update the app.
This wipes all content that I have already downloaded for offline viewing and sometimes gives me the latest content.
I've been in touch with Google support and this is the official solution to this problem....!!

One of those things where it actually pays to splurge a little is paper shredders.
We had a old one that was working...sort of....when it felt like it.
So two days ago I started doing some research and finally settled on a a Staples 16 sheet one, ordered it and got it delivered today.
I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised.
The build quality and the ease at which is chewed through even the most obnoxiously thick unopened credit card offer envelope was amazing.
It's a bit big but other than that I highly recommend it if you are in the market.

#BirdPoker Nocturnal curated by +Phil Armishaw
Quite a story behind this photo. I had been hiking with my big rig setup (25 llbs) for 10 miles and on my way home. About 1 AM and I pick up the calling sound of a juvenile Boreal Owl. Unfortunately it was up a ski slope which was partially overgrown with large shrubs and low birch trees.
On top of that there was massive boulders as well to make my walk up the slope even more treacherous in the dark.
It took me about 45 minutes to hike up and to my delight the little fellow was still hunting and calling out.
Managed to get my breathing down and heart rate settled long enough to get about 20 photos of the little guy before he got spooked by a Great Gray Owl that flew by. No photos of the big guy unfortunately but this was almost as good in my opinion.

This is the fist Fox Sparrow that I have seen in our area for a number of years. Last one I saw was at Magee Marsh in Ohio in 2007 during spring migration.
You don't realize how big this sparrow is until you see it sitting next to a goldfinch and it's almost twice the size.
