The Enigma that is Suarez
There is no doubt that Suarez is a very controversial person but up until yesterday, myself and most fans have made excuses for him
When he handled the ball on the goal-line against Ghana at the 2010 World Cup, my reaction was that anybody with a competitive spirit would have done the same. In fact if i was a coach i might have encouraged my players to do the same in the same set of circumstances
When he bit Ottman Bakkal, the defense was that he was provoked during a melee and even though that went a bit too far, people do crazy things when provoked
When he was said to racially abuse Evra, i defended him by saying that he was misconstrued. He used the word "negrito" which Evra mistook for Negro
When he refused to shake Evra's hand, i defended him by saying that he probably was still hurting after a hate... more »

If this is true it would be great news. Changing 3 defenders and possibly a goalkeeper in the off season is not a good recipe for success in the following season as too many players would be making lots of adjustments and that could lead to a slow start to next season, something we can ill afford again

Great question Should he come back?, place your comments below
Mine is as follows
Most people want this deal to happen, and it is not hard to see why. He will immediately add experience, class and a cool head. The major obstacle however is not his transfer price or wages, the major problem is tactical.
Brendan Rodgers typically plays a 3 man midfield. A defensive midfielder that breaks up play and servers as a destroyer, a central midfielder that acts as the metronome of the side. He controls the tempo of the game, orchestrates play and generally tends to direct the game. The 3 midfielder is the attacking one. He links the midfield with the attack, and makes penetrating runs into the box. Alonso is a perfect fit for the central midfield role despite his age. Herein however lies the problem. Steven Gerrard already occupies that role after adjusting his play to suit... more »

I have been one of the staunchest supporters of Brendan Rodgers and rightly so because we are beginning to show signs of having an identity and the team seems to be coming together, but on Saturday against Southampton, he made a huge tactical error. He essentially played a 4-2-4 formation away from home against a side that defeated Man city and is fighting for their lives.
What infuriates me most is that he should have seen this coming.Just last week against Tottenham, we lost the midfield battle. It was until Joe Allen was brought in for Coutinho before calm was restored to the midfield and we won. I know it is attractive to play Suarez-Sturridge-Downing-Coutinho together and i also know that he wants to play Suarez in a free role behind Sturridge. The problem with that is that it makes us lose our shape and we lose the midfield especially against sides like Southampton that are very good at ... more »

The problem with the Sahin transfer was that of positioning, In a 3 man midfield, Sahin was not tough enough to play in a defensive midfield role, he was never going to displace Gerrard in the 2nd midfield role, hence the decision of Rodgers to try him out as an attacking midfielder. Unfortunately, Sahin did not want to be a part of that experiment which led to his departure.

I was looking at the remaining fixtures that the teams chasing European spots have and i noticed that Tottenham still have to play Man City,Chelsea,Everton and Stoke away, immediately i felt pangs of hope, but i quickly shot them down, this article is right we are not ready for the Champions league.
For us to get into the Champions league we would need to win at least 8 of our remaining 9 games and that's a very big ask. The good news is that we are definitely moving in the right direction. The team and style of play is shaping up very nicely, and we are very close to having a first 11 that can match Tottenham and Arsenal in the pursuit of Champions League places next season(assuming neither of them buys Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo).
The board will need to back Rodgers in the next transfer market to cement the potential of this team. We need at least 4 quality players(2... more »

Originally, i had decided not to say anything about Liverpool's season until after it is officially over, but this article will push me to.
I will categorise current Liverpool players into 3 broad categories.
1. Players who are genuinely world class or have shown that they have the potential to be: In this category i will place the following players; Gerrard, Surez, Sturridge, Coutinho,Lucas,Johnson, Sterling(Debatable but lets wait and see),Kelly(May need to be shifted to central defence to achieve his true potential),
2. Players who are either squad players, or will be squad players at best: Jones,Henderson,Shelvey,Carragher,Coates,Wisdom,Enrique,Borini,Assaidi,Suso
3. Players who are either meant to be World Class and are not or are generally overrated: Reina,Agger,Skrtel,Allen
For Liverpool to challenge for fourth place we... more »

I run a tech firm with a partner, and this guys are the sort of people we look up to. When you run a company as a partner there is always the tendency for issues such as lack of trust, money, different visions, egos etc to tear you apart. The Google guys tell us that does not have to be the case

Carson might have come under a lot of criticisms for his speech, but i see nothing wrong in the spirit in which he said it. He was thoughtful and respectful and his intention was not to undermine the president.
What he is advocating also makes sense but there is so much debt right now that a flat rate tax will not help
What do you think of the flat rate tax?

In trying to knock Google off their perch, Apple chose litigation, it seems like Microsoft has chosen to hit Google by bad mouthing them through massive ads. Unfortunately both approaches won't work. The key to beating Google or any other company for that matter is innovation

What Coutinho needs to do to realise his potential
Coutinho's transfer has finally been completed and there is a lot of excitement about this signing given his obvious talent. There is a word of caution though, Brazilians especially the attacking ones don't tend to succeed in the premiership due to cultural changes, language barriers, the physical style of play, media pressure and lack of effort. So how can Liverpool and Coutinho himself buck the trend. There are 3 key areas that must be attended to before Coutinho can realise his potential
1. Physicality: The EPL is a physical league and even though the likes of Silva and Mata have thrived in spite of it, Coutinho would need to add some bulk up especially if he is going to be playing in the center of midfield eventually. He had already started that process in Inter and i am sure he will harden up. He also has ... more »

With a few clicks, Scott shows how Graph Search provides real names, and other identifying information, for all kinds of problematic combinations, from the embarrassing and hypocritical to ready-made Enemies Lists for repressive regimes. His searches include Catholic mothers in Italy who have stated a preference for Durex condoms and, more ominously, Chinese residents who have family members that like Falun Gong. (He removed all real names, but soon anyone can run these searches.)

The writer of this article says that he would not be unhappy if the Coutinho transfer falls through. He says he prefers Tom Ince
My question is if you could have only one of the 2 who would you prefer Coutinho or Tom Ince?

It seems like Liverpool scouts now work for Southampton. Once a player is linked strongly with Liverpool, Southampton bids more and steals a march on us. This will make it the 3rd time(after Gaston Ramirez and Forren) because i don't see Liverpool paying more than £8 million pounds for him. Our only hope is if Coutinho says no to Southampton and insists on Liverpool which is unlikely given the statements he made a few days ago. I really want us to get him, so lets hope a miracle happens before the end of the transfer season and as for Southampton, i hope they get relegated.

HUMOR BREAK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lady: Do you drink?
Man: Yes
Lady: How much a day?
Man: a 6 pack
Lady: How much does a 6 pack cost
Man: about $10.00
Lady: And how long have you been drinking?
Man: 15 years
Lady: So one 6 pack cost $10.00 and you have a 6 pack every day which
puts your spending each month at $300. In one year, it would be $10,800
correct?
Man: Correct
Lady: If in 1 year you spend $10,800 not accounting for inflation, the
past 15 years puts your spending at $162,000 correct?
Man: Correct
Lady: Do you know that if you hadn't drank, that money could have been
put in a step-up interest savings account and after accounting for
compound interest for the past 15 years, you could have now bought a
