Who wouldn't like to see his pictures featured on Wikipedia too?All included artists are using Creative Commons (CC) licenses. Please share this circle! |Christian Werner||9,618||All included artists are using Creative Commons (CC) licenses. What does that mean? CC is just a simple way of describing what uses are permitted by the author. It bridges the gap between all rights reserved and Public Domain while keeping things simple (standardized license deeds) and protecting the artists rights by demanding at least proper attribution.Creative Commons Photographers Circle Second UpdateMost recent additions include: +Ben Ashmole, +Martin Fisch, and +Charles Strebor. Please give them a warm welcome! Please don't hesitate to share this circle.Regards, ChrisOther: I removed +HACK THIS PHOTO as they were included by mistake. Keywords: #cc ,#creativecommons,#circleshare,#photographer||2012-03-25 07:18:30||38||10||5||8||CC G+|

If you want hi res downloads for blogs or desktop wallpapers etc then feel free. |Christian Werner||9,618||Creative Commons Photographers Circle First UpdateAll included artists are using Creative Commons (CC) licenses.CC licences are great because they spare many, if not all, negotiations between user and copyright owner (which are necessary if you'd like to use an image under "all rights reserved").And even though CC is not is not about giving away everything for free (all CC licenses require at least proper attribution), most circle members use CC to allow non-commercial usages of their work. Isn't that a nice thing?Todays addition is +Sascha Kohlmann. He has, for example, done some great street and HDR photography of Berlin. Have a look at his pictures here: http://goo.gl/LqgJSAnother nice update is that +shirley lo has included this circle into her great "what do you collect"-Posting (http://goo.gl/ZHsIE). Thanks again Shirley! If you know somebody who is missing from the circle (including yourself) please just add a comment or message me!Have a great day!ChrisPS: To be included, please state in your profile that (/which of ) your pictures are licensed under CC (except that info is not clearly included otherwise by a majority of your shared pictures)! For Example:" If not stated otherwise all my images are protected under CC BY-NC 3.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/), Attribution: Your Name."#circleshare||2012-03-10 20:30:06||36||6||4||4||CC G+|
|Christian Werner||9,618||I 'd like to share a circle of Creative Commons Photographers (CC).Most of those artists allow derivative works, some even commercial usage, so you can use great art to build upon without obtaining explicit permission or legal headaches. At the very least, all of those artists allow you to share and redistribute work of theirs noncommercially (something that is not allowed per se if ©: all rights reserved) as long as you keep the CC copyright notice attached. If you like those artists and/or Creative Commons please re-share this circle! If you want to join the circle, please state in your profile how and where CC applies to your work and notify me (adding yourself on http://www.group.as/cc%20photographers/ is a great way). I will update the circle on a regular basis. Thanks for your support!PS: Find out if a CC license might be suitable for your work at: http://creativecommons.org/choose/PPS: I'm not a native English writer, so any help on any the inevitable errors is much appreciated #creativecommons||2012-02-29 06:35:09||32||0||2||1||CC G+|

|Thomas Hawk||7,014,660||1,500 Kick Ass Photographers on Google+ (A-G, Part 1 of 3)1,500 Kick Ass Photographers on Google+ (A-G, Part 1 of 3) http://goo.gl/WGdFw1,500 Kick Ass Photographers on Google+ (G-O, Part 2 of 3) http://goo.gl/1yiS61,500 Kick Ass Photographers on Google+ (P-Z, Part 3 of 3) http://goo.gl/6nLZEI've shared my photographers circle on Google+ two times now. Once when it got to 500 and then again when it got to 1,000. Today my circle hit 1,500 so I'm sharing them again.I have to break them up into 500 person circles because this is the limit on Google+. Also Google limits the number of people you can add to circles per day so I'm going to publish my kick ass photographers circle over 3 days. Today I'm publishing A-G. Tomorrow I'll publish G-O. Friday I'll publish P-Z. By last name.In addition to the kick ass photographers in these circles I've also added three other accounts. Our new photography hangout show which will be on live tonight at 8PM PST +Photo Talk Plus as well as our show's sponsors +Drobo and +SmugMug as a way of saying thanks to them.A few notes about these circles. not to be long-winded, but…Every time I've shared my circles I've gotten haters from it. People who are upset that they are not in them. I absolutely detest that. It makes me not even want to share them because of that. These circles are not meant to be the definitive list of what photographers you should be following on Google+. These circles are simply who I have chosen to follow for photography on Google+ for my own personal consumption. I want to share them because I think YOU may also benefit from having these rich, talented, kick ass photographers in your streams. This is the circle that I browse every single day looking for great stuff to +1 and comment on Google+ and as such it reflects my own personal biases. For example. I hate looking at watermarks. This is a personal preference thing. If you use them, more power to you. It's absolutely your right. But as a consumer of photography I find them ugly and distracting and so I tend not to follow people who use them. This is not a big deal. This is not a personal attack against you if you watermark. This isn't even a universal rule of mine. I do have a few friends who use them that I still follow. But by and large, what you get with my circles is a watermark/signature free circle. I also prefer people who are active on Google+ both in terms of posting and in terms of contributing to the community. If the last photo you posted was in November, I probably won't have you in this list.If you were in my photographers circle before but removed, it could be for a lot of these sorts of reasons. Watermarks/sigs, not posting enough, posting too much non photography stuff that I'm not interested in, or all kinds of other things. Who knows. But it's most definitely not personal. (Unless I'm blocking you and then maybe it is personal). Also if you are not in these circles it may simply be because we don't know each other yet. In time perhaps we will become great friends||2012-01-18 23:20:26||500||192||110||257||CC G+|

|Thomas Hawk||7,014,660||So the last few days I've been redoing my circles with the goal of resharing my Kick Ass Photographers Circle when it hit 1,000 photographers. Today it hit 1,000 for the first time and so I thought I'd share them. Because a circle can only have 500 people in it, I've broken this circle up into 2 circles by last name, A-K http://goo.gl/7HVMN and L-Z http://goo.gl/EO0O2.The people in these circles are some of the highest quality photographers on G+ today. Many of them are also my personal friends and people that I've known in some cases for years. Some of them are people that I don't know at all, but I just really admire their work. Anytime one attempts to share a list like this, there is inevitably a bit of negative backlash. It would be impossible to put every great photographer on Google+ on this list. Please keep in mind that if we are friends and I missed you on this list, it is not personal. Staying on top of tons of contacts isn't easy and I'm only human. If you were on this list before and are not now, also please do not take offense. I spent a great deal of time scrubbing this list this time around and was much more strict with the criteria for inclusion. I basically was looking for high quality active G+ photographers who post mostly their own work, who post without watermarks or signatures, and who interact in the community. Not everyone in this list meets this criteria, but 98% of you do.Also, if you're not on this list it may be that I simply don't know you. We haven't met in real life. We haven't interacted online. You may be an amazing photographer but our paths just have not had a good chance to cross in a meaningful way yet. Here's to meeting many more of you kick ass photographers in the future. This is the list that I browse most often on G+. It's where I go to find my daily dose of great photography. I'm sharing it because I think that you too might like some of the photography that is being published by these photographers. Thank you to every photographer not just on this list, but on G+ as a whole for making our daily lives a little more interesting and beautiful with the great images that you generously share.Thomas Hawk shared a circle with you.||2011-10-26 20:13:44||500||190||154||165||CC G+|

GOOGLE+ UPCOMING FEATURES REVEALED?
Toby Stein is the community manager for the Google+ Project. He was peppered with feature requests in a recent Q&A hangout session. Mr. Stein was noncommittal as expected. However, there was a glint in his eyes and a naughty smile as if to say --- "Yeah, those features are in the works, but I'm not telling you the secret."
Mr. Stein may not be spilling the beans anytime soon, but our intrepid stalkerazzi squad uncovered these gems:
The hangout allows only 10 participants and fills up quickly (like Michael Dell's hangouts). A broadcast feature will probably be implemented but on selective basis like concerts and webinars. A business edition (fee-based) will be established with more than 10 participants and with broadcast and collaboration capabilities.

THE BEST AND BADDEST GOOGLE+ CHROME EXTENSION
1. Made by a UX designer resulting in a very polished and elegant extension.
2. Readability is much better.
3. Star feature which acts as a bookmark to save articles to read at a later time.
4. Starred folder appearing in the left-hand links organizes your bookmarked articles neatly with Tweeter-like summaries.
5. The Google+ black strip is permanently on top for convenience. When you are at the bottom of the page, you can easily jump to the very top by simply clicking your +Name on the black strip. You won't miss any notifications (the red box) since the black strip is permanently on top of the browser.
6. Mute button included in every post, and many more elegant subtle changes.
Google+ should have incorporated these as native features, especially the STAR feature.

HOW TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF YOUR STREAM
It starts and ends with circles. If you have well-thought and well-organized circles, the quality of your stream will improve.
I had 18 circles initially which became too unwieldy. I pruned and reorganized them into 11. Less is more. I un-followed or blocked noisy posters. I purged people who were less active with insignificant contributions.
Some friends complained that Google+ is uninteresting. I asked them how many are in their circles? One replied he has 25, the other has 30. I told them to organize their circles and follow interesting people. It doesn't matter if those people follow you back. Eventually, some will.
My circles below are meant as a guide only. These circles are not arbitrary but based on my observation of the kinds of people I follow and those following me. I suggest you do... more »
