When I was 10, I entered the US Pavilion at Expo67 two times. Once on the monorail and once up the escalator. The memory is still vivid. I don't think I've ever been to a better place. The dome was designed by Buckminster Fuller.

"Angel of the Resurrection" depicts the Archangel Michael lifting a fallen soldier out of the flames of war. Designed by Walter Hancock, it honors Pennsylvania RR workers who gave their lives in WWII. The statue is the centerpiece of 30th St. Station in Philadelphia. "I was just enamored with Vinnie. Back in the Frank [Zappa] days, his whole approach, when I heard Vinnie play, his phrasing - it satisfied something in my heart. It was easy to get certain rhythmic gratification from straight up-and-down-type players. Playing grooves, alternate grooves here and there. But Vinnie just came in and threw a wrench into the works. The guy is an alien. He was able to touch buttons with his sense of polyrhythms that no one has ever done. Frank's band was the perfect soundboard for that. I started transcribing his playing for The Frank Zappa Book. I mean, there's five to six different notations for the hi-hat!" [laughs]

I haven't seen a good video of Vinnie Colaiuta playing the drums on Sting's Seven Days. He once played it on Letterman but the camera mostly ignored him. The drummer in this video, Andrea Mattia, shows his skills at playing this difficult selection (5/4 time signature.). Very fun to watch.

Coolest time-lapse I've seen in a while.
The video is a mosaic of 360 time-lapse movies. Each taken at a specific time of day and arranged chronologically. Each time-lapse is comprised of images taken at 10 second intervals are synchronized ty time-of-day beginning before sunrise. Best part it was taken here in San Francisco at the Exploratorium museum.

Here is a Circle of G+ members with Occupy in the name. Some are contacts for Occupy movements. Some seem to be reserved and unused, so it is hard to tell what their status is. Google evidently has begun to enforce the real name policy on these, so some of the names have changed since I started the circle.

There's a movie coming out two weekends down the line (10/28). Called ANONYMOUS. It's kind of Amadeus as a political thriller... and set in Elizabethan England. Great stuff.
It turns on an old debate about Shakespeare that I've been involved in for years. But none of that really matters to probably 99% of the moviegoers who'll see this Hollywood movie. What does matter is it's very fun and a wild ride. Please, check it out!
