I dug out my old Scalextric the other day whilst doing a clear out, I haven't used it for many a year, but after a bit of maintenance and minor repair it was all in working order! very chuffed.
Not bad considering it's at least 20 years old. That's why I've done some proud photography of it :-D

I went for a wander with a mate and his dogs today to get out of my current routine, it was 'refreshing'
We went up onto the Snake Pass in Derbyshire and over to Kinder. The wind was ridiculous, about 70mph gusts we estimated (I'm dead good at estimating wind :-D ) and very cold.
It was still good to get out though.

Some of the photos I took today for the short lived snow. They're mostly from Mottram and Stalybridge in Manchester.
I had to drag myself out before it started to melt, and about an hour in it started to get very foggy as the melting started.
Still I think I did ok out of it.

Got up to a fairly decent layer of snow this morning. Whilst I was making my breakfast I looked out into my back garden and spotted this squirrel destroying all my good work for the birds.
It looked cool though, so as long as something is being fed I don't mind.
I did let my cat out after a while though and he chased it away :-D
But then he got soft and hid under a bench out of the weather.

As you might know, I have deleted all my previous shared circles and together with +Lorena Masi we have come up with a totally new circle sharing concept called Sharing is Caring.
To each circle we share there will be an event attached where we can get to know each other better, share our images and/or just socialize after the circle has been shared (it's invitation only). We will also create a page to each circle after a few shares where we will promote some of your images and in addition to that there will be an image hashtag to each circle as well. Going through my horde of un-filed images from the last few messy months, so I'm slowly digging out one or two bits to share, the sky over Manchester has been very bland recently I'm beginning to notice, or I've spent a lot of time indoors.
Anyway, these three photos are from a church fair I went to a month or so ago, I went mainly to have a look around inside with my camera, but I did get a brew out of it!

A few weeks ago I went up to Rochdale for my girlfriends last day at work, before she moved onto her new job, as she wanted to get a nice photo with her workmates and with the building they work in, in the background. Also she thought I might want to take a few photos for myself as the building is quite old and about the shut for good and then be mostly demolished to make way for 400 new living cubes (yay).
It turned out to be a nice looking building and it will be a shame when it gets knocked down, I did want to get inside and invade the closed secret areas inside. I knew it used to be a workhouse then a hospital later on, with some patients categorised as being 'Imbeciles' or 'Feverish' which I thought was great!
But unfortunately it's mostly classed as derelict and very unsafe, so I got nowhere but the outside (luckily I had my stock 200mm lens to get me some extra... more »

In the meantime I found this, it's just a pic of a door from around the back of a church in Clayton Manchester, but I liked it. The more I look at it in the preview window the plainer and toneless it looks, still like it though.

I had a miserable weather hike yesterday with my brother +Kieran Brooks while we were both free of work at the same time. I took my camera out to get back into the flow but these 2 pics are from my phone, which I think came out quite well considering the mist and rain :-D

This is my most recent picture, I went out on Sunday for a walk to test a Nikon D7000 I borrowed from work to get used to. I found this squirrel and lots of trees, it wasn't a very fruitful walk and I didn't really like using the camera either, I don't know if it was the early/bright sunshine or just that I'm a bit unfamiliar with the camera, but I didn't enjoy using it very much at all. I was happy when I got back to my tiny Pentax haha.

Took this on this here phone in my hand last night at ten to nine. I was just legging it across Piccadilly gardens in Manchester to get a bus and I noticed I was one step away from everything looking a bit less lovely. So I snapped a quick one and carried on.
I only checked it this morning as I'd had 3 pints and didn't expect it to come out very well :D

Part of my ongoing attempt to get a new job is to get some new pieces together. I don't have any briefs, so I've just been filling a gap between my Design work and Photography by combining them. A colourful one to show what it's really like inside. There was a laboratory upstairs that had cupboards full of old equipment and there were bottles of acid lying around. It was really strange that it wasn't all boarded up but nobody had emptied the place either. It might have something to do with the trek it took to get there.
