The birds tree
This one has been sitting undeveloped on my hard drive for a long time, but earlier today I downloaded the newly released Nik Collection by Google and tried out the "new" Silver Efex 2 (SEP2), and decided to try on one of my infrared pictures. What a joy it is to use SEP2 compared to SEP1 - now I can use the Macintosh workflow in SEP2, scroll with finger swipes etc. With SEP1 you had to move the arrow to sliders and drag it like on a PC, very annoying once you have gotten used to using a Mac. Also, with the new Google collection, I can now open SEP2 from Photoshop and not only Lightroom, so feels much more versatile. And of course SEP2 has many new tools compared to the old version. Pretty snowy winter this season! All gone by now though...
This was taken as the sun set, giving a beautiful light on the snow as the moon was rising. Small gnomes scattered in the forest etc...

Have started to shoot some medium format film with my Holga. Here is a rather minimal shot from the first roll. (Tri-X, developed in Rodinal, Semi-Stand 1 hour)
I like the "slowness" of shooting film, and developing it myself. It forces me to think hard before I actually press the shutter. I don't think I will give up digital completely. This is more like a complement.

1st Swedish International small print exhibition

Now at Ystad Konstmuseum (Ystad Art Museum,Sweden), 9th of December to 13th of January!
I was happy to get one of my photos selected for the exhibition, which is featuring 150 photos from more than 50 countries. Unfortunately I missed the opening yesterday due to a snowstorm (chasing me from Amsterdam - I almost missed the flight back to Sweden because of the a snowy Netherlands).

Hi G+ friends, an old picture (many of you may have already seen it) with a new editing here. Very glad that it has recently been published on 1x.com! :-)

The opportunity to thank the Google+ team for adding one of my picture on the front page of Picasa Web Albums!!! This is such a beautiful and totally unexpected gift, I have no idea how that happened and I'm not sure to deserve it. Anyway, many many thanks to them!!! :-))

This was the first time I have entered a photo competition, and I was fortunate to receive the United International Photographers (UIP) Gold award medal at the 12th FFiM International exhibition of photographic art, and my image printed in the Swedish magazine Foto.

This is "Torso and Sauna", the view from Malmö city beach, also known as "ribban". Maybe the name inspired Calatrava...

Here's my first image for around three and a half months.
A very long time i know, but due entirely to work commitments.
But i will be taking a very long break after this weekend and will be back to catch up on all your wonderful work and comments.
This was taken on Lake Geneva - Lac Leman - in Switzerland in the company of +Johan Peijnenburg +Athena Carey who organised this wonderful event.
It was great to be in the company of my "Brother" +Luca Cesari too, we had a great weekend.

New Avatar

Gosh, that snide remark from the editor really got to me (see my previous post). Guess he was right about the logo though...

So, I am changing my avatar to a portrait instead of the logo!
Guess I am late to the party, most people have a portrait, but I stuck to my logo because:

1) Face recognition software - scared Interpol would finally find me for that bank job in Geneva;  2) the bank job in NY - nah, only kidding, no. 2 was because I personally prefer not to know what e.g. an author of a book look likes, or how my favorite radio show talker looks like etc etc. Still, given the opportunity, I do have a look out of curiosity... And I guess most people prefer a photo. So... yeah, finally changing to my avatar!

Personal Perseus

► A self portrait, made during the meteor shower close to the constellation Perseus earlier this August. Far in the distant, I think I heard a Depeche Mode song, or was it the sound of the waves, hmm... While there definitively are shooting stars in this photo, I am not 100% sure the intense trail is a true meteor (satellite, airplane?), It is just so insanely intense!

Fuji X-Pro1 does extreme exposures
Been trying out the new Fuji X-Pro1. Can it do extreme long exposure at low light levels - can the files be pushed? Can it handle the 10-stop B+W filter ND110?

Moomin Valley

Long time since I shared an LE photo!
I wanted some in-camera grain for this layered seascape, so I shot at ISO 6400 - but to get the long exposure, I had to use 16 stops of ND filters. Hope you like the result?

I am very excited to invite all of you to stop by and look at my new photography interview site. Each month, I will be featuring at least one new interview with an up and coming or established photographer-- as well as at least one new photo gallery that is either based on a particular theme or an individual photographer.

PlusOneCollection - Black Old Sun

This image is my contribution to +Ivan Makarov's project and book "Best of 2011 - G+ Photography", where the proceedings go to Kiva, an organization trying to alleviate poverty by micro-loans (see http://www.kiva.org/about). Fantastic work on the #PlusOneCollection Ivan!

This is a photo of Öresund bridge outside Malmö, Sweden, and a vertorama consisting of exposures from 3 minutes to 20 minutes. So it is not HDR, but blending of sky and water, to achieve the effects and tonality I wanted. Hope you like it!
