Behavior of the +1 button on webpages
what adds or does not add a +1
Last year, I noticed that certain actions would add a +1 to the counter on a webpage. In order to add a +1 to the counter, you had to add the URL to a page as a link to the Google+ post. Just adding the link in the body and for instance adding a photo or video didn't change the counter of the +1-button. Now this has changed.

When you add a link/URL in the body of the post it will count towards the total number of +1's on the webpage. This is extremely handy when you want to add a large photo to make the post much more attractive. 

The +1 which is given to a post will count back to the +1 on the webpage. Reshares will add to it as well. When a post on Google+ goes viral, you will notice this as well on the page showing +1-button.

This also means that I can potentially add 3 counts... more »

I think it's better to load new post automatically. So, I've developed this Chrome Extention "Auto Load New Posts for Google+".

Hide Hangouts on Google+
You don't like the the Hangouts sidebar? Just click on the little Hangout icon and they sidebar will be collapsed. Handy you you don't want to be disturbed.

You hate it or love it
But instead of having to click, use the letter 'L' on your keyboard to refresh the stream without having to click. 

But +Google+ be a nice tool and add an option to disable it. Just like you allow us to switch back to one column stream.

Yea for Nexus 4, Nay for tablets. Desktop is nice, but I do use my tablets as well.

Google I/O 2013 Outlook
What are my thoughts?
Just a few people will know exactly what is going to be presented tomorrow. People like +Larry Page, +Sergey Brin, +Vic Gundotra and +Sundar Pichai will take the stage and (hopefully) amaze us with usage numbers, Google's strategy and new/updates products. 

My outlook on Google I/O 2013;

Google+
Last year we saw events, last Christmas we got Communities. What else might they have up their sleeves? 2013 would be the year of Google+ and thus far we only have see a small percentage of all the planned features.

 But what can they add? RSS-like features? + to replace iGoogle? Start HOA via mobile? Open API? Deep Google News integration?

My advice to you is to read the article (and series) but I still wanted to highlight some of my favorite pieces

Pros and cons of Google Glass

Great video. I love the fact that they put these two totally different people next to each other on stage. +Robert Scoble who in my point of view is right on the privacy question of Google Glass (and products like it). Andrew Keen who seems to have a quite outspoken opinion about privacy in general and the "intel/computer inside you". And yes, I will stand inline to get Google Glass. 

Was Keen nervous to be on stage with a device that could breach his privacy? Or didn't he want to be there at all. Worst interviewer ever.
