I have named the circle "Artistic People" Most are photographers who continually share their own pictures of good quality. The only thing you need to do to get into, and stay in the circle is to continue to have me in your circles and share your own great photos without a lot of other bling bling, youtube clip, animated gifs and so on in your stream.I've probably forgotten one or more that should have been in the circle, but I'm neither the first nor the last to do so.Hope you like my "Artistic People Circle" and that you pass it along to your own circles. Blair Kunkel5,687ATTENTION - Since my original snowball circle(Share Circle #1) circle grew so fast it reached over 2,000 members!  It has been brought to my attention that each time the circle is shared and added to YOUR circles, you are only able to add under 500 people. SO...to make sure that this circle of awesome people continues to grow, I have divided all 2,000 members into 7 other share circles(so far) and each of those share circles 2-7 are starting out with 400 members each. That will allow each circle to snowball up to 100 more members each.  Once each of those circles reach 500 members, I will create a new share circle...and so on and so on.--------------------------------------------------Welcome to SHARE CIRCLE #5--------------------------------------------------Want to be added to this SNOWBALL CIRCLE and increase the number or your followers?  To be added to this circle you must do these things in this order:1.  You must PLUS the post.2.  You must SHARE the post.3.  You must ADD the circle.(Remember, you can only have 5,000 people in your circles overall so make sure you have the room to add everyone in this circle first)4   And lastly, you must comment below when you have done the three above to let me know.Just want to remind you that in order for me to add you to this circle you MUST share this circle.  I always check the activity and I see who shares it and also +1's it too. Gailen Mapes26,221Hand Picked Photographers Circles - "Unknown or Other" Camera A-F - 11 of 14Note: These circles are sorted by camera type and last name. They are split to not exceed 500 members.I am now sharing one circle per day, for the reason see:https://plus.google.com/u/0/103752943025677384806/posts/RrPNTzHhQuHAs before these circles are photographers that I admire. They also have "more photos, less spam." There have been many additions and a few drops (mostly for spam or inactivity).Be sure to get all 14 circles. Share! If you miss any of the circles they can be found at: +Gailen Mapes and scroll back to April 1st for the start of this set.  (Previous complete set was published starting March 15th.)I am hard up against the 5000 limit. From here on, I am going to have to become rather more strict about the "spam rules." Essentially if I have to go back more than a screen on your profile before I hit original material, there is a good chance that I may drop you from the circles. Of course there will be mitigating factors...Because of the way that Google no longer presents every person who adds me to their circles to me it is quite possible that I have missed some pretty good photographers.  If I am following you, chances are that you are already in one of these circles or in my "check later" circle.  If you think you have been missed, tag a comment on one of these posts and I will check your profile out for inclusion.  Guidelines for inclusion can be found at:https://plus.google.com/u/0/103752943025677384806/about#circleshare #circlesharing #circleoftheday #handpickedcircles   #sharedcircles #sharedcircle #sharedpubliccircles   #fullcircleshare #addmetoyourcircles #pixelworld   #pixelworldcircle #circleoftheday #bestsharedcircle #thebestcirclesongoogle #thebestcircle2013-04-11 10:58:3937616213

Margaret Tompkins42,172>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Great Photographers With < 25,000 FollowersThe photographers here are all in my personal circles.  The choices are mine and mine alone.  No one asked, begged, or pleaded to belong.  No bribes were offered or accepted.  These are the people that I follow because I appreciate their great quality photography and their interaction.  Most I have met as I help curate several of the photography themes.  There are NO requirements to share this circle.  I would appreciate the people in this circle plus the post, leave a comment, and share the circle as public.  Each profile has been verified by me.  Most have < 25,000 followers (when they were put into the circle).  They each have high quality original photography content.  You won’t find many animated gifs!  I have included myself in the circle and also the landscape page.  Some are new to G+ so please make them feel welcome!!Landscape Photography:  I invite everyone to check out the +Landscape Photography #LandsacapePhotography theme.  If you want to impress me, that’s the place to do it!!  Post a great landscape that will get my attention.  See the About tab for all the details.I wasn’t included, what do I do?  If you meet the criteria, weren’t included, but think you should be, then leave me a comment.  Maybe I don’t know about you.  There are millions of people on G+ and I don’t know everyone.  However, I’ll be happy to have a look at your work if you will call it to my attention.  Start posting landscapes that get my attention (see above)!!There’s a really great photographer XXX that you didn’t include.  Please feel free to recommend qualified people.  I discover new people every day and would be happy to look at their work.  Please make sure that the recommended person meets the criteria.  If they don’t then that tells me a lot about you! #Circleshare   #Sharedcircles   2013-01-29 23:06:24499383127194

According to unconfirmed reports that guy who spied on Germany's secret service BND on behalf of NSA is a member of Commando 'Gavrilo Princip'. This group considers itself as supporter of a 'new world order'. For further propaganda see their website.

Just kidding.

What would I do if anybody asked me?
1) Political asylum for Edward Snowden in Germany.
2) Hearing of Snowden before the NSA investigation committee of the Bundestag.
3) Further measures to prevent the establishment of a 'state within the state'.

And a lot more, but that would be nice for a start.

"Art is liberating us from data terror" said an article on a German news portal some weeks ago. It was discussing an art exhibition at Düsseldorf's Kunsthalle, and after reading it I didn't know what "data terror" actually was. Neither did the author of that article, I guess. Freedom of mind and senses would come through art. Information isn't everything, more important is what you can view and think up beyond it. Information is just the seed vessel of the new.

Whew. (See here for further information. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Information)

Some of these old buildings are for sale. They might look beautiful at first sight, but if they were not modernized the new owner may add 200 - 300 percent to the purchase price. Might be still a bargain, though; especially if you appreciate St Peter's tower (15th century) in striking distance.

Uerdingen isn't one of these targets you can find easily in your travel guide. It's a small town, belonging to Krefeld for a couple of decades, and it lacks superior monuments and wonders of nature. But don't be fooled: this town is packed with history. Uerdingen got its town charter in 1255 (it's older than Düsseldorf), and also the Romans had a fort nearby.

Less famous churches are also beautiful: St Peter in Uerdingen (near Krefeld (near Düsseldorf)). It's much older than it appears, but a lot of fires and WWII destroyed what once was a lavish design. This interior is very focused and classy, though.

I often get comments from (mostly American) people, telling me "Oh, you have so great churches in Europe (and we don't)", or "They don't build like this anymore". Neither of these statements is right. Historism is alive and kicking, and these already built or planned churches are pure gems.

That's an interesting one from Strasbourg Cathedral: the ideal church, as depicted here, has two towers. Probably early drafts of the Cathedral's architecture were providing that, too.

The darkness and the permanent crowd make Strasbourg Cathedral a challenging place for taking photos. There's one picture of the Astronomical Clock at Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strasbourg_astronomical_clock) that's making me a bit jealous; below's my attempt. The 'Pillar of Angels' photo is quite okay, though. The older I get, the steadier my hands get, too, I guess.

The next strange event yesterday happened half an hour later. Not only Cologne had its mega event, Düsseldorf has one, too: the big Rheinkirmes, a big fun fair (not only fun fair, like everything in Europe this one has traditions reaching far back into the Middle Ages). This Rheinkirmes also attracts several hundreds of thousands of people per day, and so I wasn't too surprised to see several teenagers in the city train at midnight, eager to end their night on the fun fair area. And it's summer holidays anyway, so why shouldn't they?
Perhaps I'm getting old. When I was sixteen, it was the biggest sign of autonomy to have a bottle of beer in your hand when celebrating something. But these kids yesterday: bottles of hard liquor, two of them with a whole bottle of vodka, respectively? At age 15 or 16?

Barfly careers in the making, I guess. As meek as a lamb by day, binge-drinking by night. Nobody complains if their grades are still good enough.
What went wrong?___

Two things made me raise an eyebrow, though: why did my train have to take an alternative route due to a few fools who desperately had to enter the rails on Hohenzollern Bridge, thus hampering the whole rail traffic between Cologne and the rest of the world? Of course, the reason was a fireworks which attracted the aforementioned hundreds of thousands of people (hotop). But is the need for fun of a few fools reason enough for redirecting trains, police operations, and stuff?
I guess that some of them who even might have been arrested afterwards, would have felt as victims of a cruel state power. But then again, I think that nothing has happened to them, because such behavior doesn't have consequences. They probably call it freedom. Perhaps it is, but to me it's lack of consideration, too.

Lesson learned yesterday: cities are no longer the places for living and working. They have transformed into giant event areas, attracting several hundreds of thousands of people. Okay, no suprise so far. But wait.

Who enjoyes reading the news today? The story of MH17 superficially reminds me of the torpedoing of RMS Lusitania in 1915, when German forces fired a non-military ship without warning. But I don't want to burn my mouth about this. Everything's contaminated and will be exploited by all conflict parties, and the only sad truth we definitely know about are many dead people.

St Marien in Bonn Bad-Godesberg (the “Bad” means that this town is a spa, nothing “bad” here at all) built 1862, extended 1894. Design: Vinzenz Statz, one of the most important advocates of Neo-Gothic style in Germany (who also was master builder of Cologne Cathedral). St Marien is another fine neo-gothic church (there must have been much more decorations in the past) with a surprisingly vast space, provided by the massive transept.

Probably this has already been addressed by many and it's already late, but... why does this alleged XKeyScore code (available at http://daserste.ndr.de/panorama/xkeyscorerules100.txt) mention the Tails operating system correctly in line 98 ("The Amnesic Incognito Live System"), a comment line, while it's written wrong in the actual code, line 91: "Amnesiac Incognito Live System"? Note the 2nd "a" in "amnesiac" which is wrong. If this would be used for fetching querys for Tails, it would never match.

When strange things get weird: a thorough analysis of the fragments of alleged XKeyScore code concludes that these files are most likely a (sophosticated) fake. The analysis appaears serious and correct to me. I don't want to regurgitate sensational news from unclear sources. So I'm going to leave indignation mode and find my own opinion based on the data available. Thanks, media, this was a good exercise in becoming mistrustful, again. (This whole game is so big, it's stuff for decades to come, it seems.)

Addendum: the only NSA-guarded German known by name besides Angela Merkel has provided a Q&A about himself, his commitment to privacy, and his unexpected popularity.

Looking for "Tails" (a secure O/S) and tools like "Tor" (for preserving anonymity when surfing the web) makes you a suspected terrorist. This is not a test: fragments of XKeyScore config files leave no doubt about this, as a German report reveals.

I'm using Tor and other security tools (Wireshark, uh-oh; Truecrypt, KeePass, 1Password, sometimes I'm even encrypting my e-mails, holy cow!) Sometimes I have to, because it's my job. And of course I care about my privacy, how couldn't I?

Do I now have to be terrified of my next stay in the US due to unpleasant interviews in close offices? What's the point of all this but to spread fear, uncertainty and doubt?

I cannot eat as much as I would like to vomit.

A fun read, but I think this article misses one point: it's not always "power-hungry assholes" that ruin this world, it's power itself that corrupts people. Even the nicer ones.

Anything more? No, no interviews on the World Cup. My Klout score increased: aha. That gruesome storm in my region three weeks ago: others certainly have reported on that. The number of artists in Düsseldorf: has increased by one.

"What's reality" asks the local issue of Scientific American. I don't know the answer, really. It's subjective.

Read comic books! Learn something new! (I do. Anybody into Lisp and Clojure?) Ignore the impertinences of life! See you tomorrow.

We're living in strange times. Surveillance everywhere, sometimes even with our friendly assistance in the form of loyalty cards and discount tickets, and still the biggest network of them all manages to hide a psychologial field trial from the public. I would be really pissed if I was relying on facebook and the posts of my people there.

Apart from that, what was happening there was the opposite of science. There's a Code of Ethics (http://www.cop.es/efppa/metacode.htm) by the European Federation of Professional Psychologists Associations that tells how it's done. See position 3.1.3: informed consent.
