Great big raven (haven't seen any for a long time) perched itself on one of the top branches and had a good look at me.

It's now chowing down on it's unexpected breakfast.

For reasons unknown I wasn't able to get to sleep tonight. Starting to feel sleepy now but, I most probably won't wake in time for the station adopters conference later so, time for some caffeine soon me thinks.

Slightly spooked out after just realising that all the tunes that are playing so far this evening on +clubland TV's "Club Classics" section not only are ones I heard whilst at uni but, are also 10 to 12 years old(whereas they were brand new when I heard them originally).

Similar thing happens when watching Kerrang TV.

I think I might be becoming an old fart.

One thing I learned from friends who are and were tech crew for various events and also whilst I helped out as a tech minion on several occasions, no matter how big a star you think you are, you don't annoy the tech crew.

using the web version of g+ for the first time tonight (i normally use me nexus 4 and 7)

don't think it's anywhere near as bad as those who were freaking out were saying.

my minor grumble is that due to my 15" screen laptop i keep on having to switch  to full screen to gain a bit more screen space to be able to see what's going on, on g+ and then flick back to non full screen when i want tabs and when on other sites.

The first British astronaut flying under the UK flag will be going into space sometime after 2015.

Some of you might say well what about the other brits that have been into space and I would say that although there have been other brits in space the only way they got up their was by becoming american citizens and joining NASA whereas Tim Peake is flying as a Brit as part of the European Space Agency's Astronaut programme.

There's going to be a press conference on Monday which reveals more about Peake and his mission.


CORRECTION:  _"All previous UK-born astronauts that have gone into orbit have done so either through the US space agency (Nasa) as American citizens or on private ventures organised with the assistance of the Russian space agency."_

I think the WTF! Fact Award for today if not the year goes to the one that says:

"26,000 US troops have "experienced an unreported episode of "unwanted sexual contact"" with incidents ranging from groping to rape."

"It's a 35% increase from 19,300 in 2010"

"Almost half of the victims were male."

"Perpetrators were both male and female."

"Only 3,374 sexual crimes have been actually been reported"


(Statistics are from a survey which is done every 2 years being reported on the Washington Journal programme on c-span which I'm watching via BBC Parliament)

If this is what some US troops do to their own colleagues they fight, live and train alongside I don't particularly want to consider what they might be doing to civilians around the world.

I don't always agree with Brian Reade's column in +Mirror but, I did have a chuckle at the first of his 5 big questions of the week having read a few pages earlier what Amazon have been up to with their tax payments (see 2 pics in this post to see what I'm talking about).

Have thought previously that there's been a bit of a witch hunt going on with the whole +Amazon.com , +Google and +Starbucks Coffee tax thing but, I do think on this occasion that +Amazon.com are taking the piss

It's train shaped thing catching day.

For reasons beyond my control (on this occasion not the fault of train company) I've got to catch a lift back up the coast in a car. Whereas I'd much prefer traveling by train shaped thing.

Video showing how far things have got so far with replacing Pont Briwet Bridge.

At the moment it's a single lane road and single line railway going over it. When completed it'll be a a 2 lane ( 1 in either direction) road, single line railway as well as cycle path and foot path.

The trench you can see and the red pipe is the new electricity cable which had and is being done first. You can see that work on widening the road has started on the Penrhyndeudraeth side and will move over to the Llandecwyn side once the electricity people have finished.

Might not be the biggest bridge in the world but, whilst it's closed its adding approx 20 odd minutes ( feel free to correct me) to those traveling between the 2 sides due to the distance of the detour.
