Hey G+niuses! If you caught my crazy impromptu Hangout with +Diego Stocco on Saturday you know we're cooking up some wild sounds for my big album and I'm excited for you to meet him!

Diego is the producer, sound designer, composer and viral video star who will be helping to make my first big record a BIG experiment in music, tech and connecting with you!

I'll post some recap photos from our Hangout where we built a new instrument out of a log (yes, like a log we found in the woods) and start posting a series of his videos here to get you guys all introduced to his wildly brilliant work.

Please help us make more robot creatures & interesting things!

As many people here reading this know, we really enjoy making robot creatures! It’s our passion, we want to eventually create a world where these robot creatures can interact together and with humans.

One of the problems that we’ve run in to right now is that we don’t have much money to spend on different robot parts. We want to make bigger robots with more actuators and sensors- for a different interactive experience. But, we get stuck on creating little things. It becomes extremely difficult to earn money when we are spending much of our time on creating these robots.

We need your help to support our robot building activities and experiments. With your help, we will be able to make more crazy robots. We will also be trying to save money for Maker Faire NY, 2013.

In the winter, for about five months or from January to May, the (Lake Baikal Russia) freezes over but the water is so clear that, from the surface, you can see an astounding 130 feet below you.
 Wind, temperature differences, frost and sun in the ice crust cause cracks and ice hummocks to form. Transparent and shining in a turquoise color, these masses of broken ice look like shards of glass rising into the sky.

We need 1,000 SMART women to help right now! +w hurley 
 was selected to participate in the British Airways first “Ungrounded” event.  This amazing event is an innovation lab flight that will assemble 100 “Silicon Valley Luminaries” on a flight from San Francisco to London.  They are on that flight right now!

The purpose is to devise a platform for connecting tech talent with big problems around the world.  This is a partnership with the UN and the team will present to the G8 Innovation Summit.   The team Whurley is on has decided to take on the issue of women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math).

Python

Any python gurus here? have setup the server to use file.py , using mod python and the installed python is 2.7 offhand that  i know of.

How do i capture forms/form submission variables etc?

I have seen example after example after example, and none work, unsure if its mysetup or something else.

I suspect i have a newer version of things to the tutorials?

3d Printing saving lifes
This is so cool, i had to share :D

In February 2012, doctors at the University of Michigan saved the life of now 20-month-old Kaiba Gionfriddo by implanting a 3-D printed splint to hold the trachea open. Over the next couple of years, Kaiba’s body will absorb the biopolymers of the splint. Before the transplant, his windpipe would collapse and he would need to be resuscitated daily. Over a year after the transplant, Kaiba has had no difficulty breathing.

Fundraising for a Robotics kit

Most people know that I am keen to help females into Technology as much as possible. I would love to even up the numbers. I am not doing this at the expense of males in any way, and equally encourage anyone with a great interest.
My son is in the local robotics club, but due to restricted parts and budget, my daugher is unable to join. Several other females have shown interest in joining also, however due to not having enough parts, they are unable to.

The Robotics they use are the Vex ones, as these are the ones used by all other schools, and the only way we can compete with other schools, however they are a little expensive.

My goal is to raise the money for another 'Classroom and Competition Robotics Kit' plus a few other parts so they can make the best robotics they can. The cost of this kid is just  over $1200NZD plus... more »

Help with a STEM related fundraising

Here is the story. I live in a smallish town of 16,000 people. Its a great town, with only one high school of around 1500 kids aged 13-17ish.
The town is well known for its athletics, and its smart overachievers also. For me as a parent, this is great, my kids love it and fit in well.
The downside? there is little or no IT comparatively to larger cities in the school.
Sure they have computers, and they even have tech classes, but they are fairly basic, mundane and do things like learning html.
Two fantastic teachers have taken it upon themselves to change this,  and have organized both a Robotics team, and a digitech classes which teach actual programming (well ... its picaxe, but its a start!).
Due to budget restraints, they have been unable to do a few things they want.,
