We’ll be meeting at Ebury Bridge Road for our next Quiet London walk, overlooking the railway line, then winding our way through the London streets, ending at Leicester Square. I've had the most wonderful and relaxing 3 week break in Australia... +Ashlan Nathens sure knows how to show a gal a good time! ;)

Flew back yesterday and sitting (not so pretty!) at my desk today, for I am jetlagged... I'm really flagging, doing a brilliant imitation of a drooping flower. Still, the wonderful people of G+ can put a smile on my face, I received this awesome holographic postcard from +Scott Cramer all the way from Disney World! :D

Thanks Scott! XD I'm going to ignore all those rumours about you and officially state that you're OK!

When Thai Buddhists visit the temple they will normally make an offering. This act is known as wai phra; wai being the traditional greeting with palms pressed together and raised towards the face and phra being the word for a Buddha image, monk or priest.
The usual offering made consists of a candle, some flowers (often a lotus), a small square of gold leaf and three incense sticks. The three incense sticks represent the Buddha, his teachings and the monastic order. These offerings can be brought with you or purchased at the wat. The act of wai phra is an individual action and each person may have their own way of going about it, but broadly speaking the following procedure will be followed. Firstly, the candle is lit and placed with the others which will be in front of a Buddha image. Then the flowers are placed in water before lighting the incense sticks using the candle.

So, this image represents a change in Quiet London. Three drinks.  One for each admin.  +Andrew Clifton-Brown is the pint of Becks , +Yoon-Mi Kim is the Red wine, and the half of Boddingtons is +James O'Gorman.  

We are really pleased that James has joined us and is an ideal fit for +Quiet London.  He likes to laugh, walk and take Photo’s and doesn’t take life too seriously on the whole.

Guess what I'm smelling?...could it be poo? 

The day I spent at Patara Elephant Farm included learning how to tell if an elephant was healthy or not.

There are 4 signs:
1. Flapping ears and a swinging tail means they're happy.
2. They sleep lying down. As they are let loose in the forest during the night, they need to look for signs - a dirty body is a good sign. A clean body means they have slept standing up, leaning against something as they find it difficult to get back up when ill.  You can also look at their eyes - they are constantly producing 'tears' to clean their eyes so if the dried tears fall straight down, the elephant has slept standing up.
3. Sweat via their toenails means a healthy elephant.
4. Their poo has moisture in it, plus they should poo 5-6 'bits'.

Now, there was a particular nook Flea went to read her books. It was the comfiest place in the world... because of this, it came to the attention of a crook!
One day, Flea fell asleep in the nook and the crook decided it was his chance, clambered up a nearby tree and used his hook to steal her book!

Look! The crook took the cookbook from her nook with his hook!!

Flea woke up to find her favourite book inches away from her nose! She looked up and yelled at the crook, giving him a ghastly fright!
