I follow brands & people of interest to me. You may wonder why I would be interested in people like +Jillian Michaels or +Adrian Grenier but my answer to that is that I often want to see how "celebrities" and experts manage their accounts. How active are they? How authentic are their posts? Is it obvious that they are not actually posting for themselves.
I find it humorous when celebrities try to maintain their allure and distance themselves from their fans. Why does a +Tyra Banks have to make such a big deal out of a Hangout? Just Hangout. That should be the new +Google+ slogan. Only ten people (unless you bend the rules like I have before) can be in a Hangout at once and if you individually invite them none of the Chrome Extensions like MyHangouts or Hangout Canopy will find the Hangout unless you're one of the people that were invited and are using the extensions.
Obviously Tyra was doing this to drum up attention and create a stir but to me at least, the whole announcing and promoting of her Hangout seemed a bit elitist. It's remarkably simple to stream a Hangout through a Ustream, Livestream or YouTube Live (if you have an account) so why not just hold a contest for the people you're going to invite to the Hangout and let everyone else know when its happening and where they can watch. Just my two cents.
