The #1 benefit to this, was I woke up, got some coffee and just by going to my own blog I had the entire Google+ conversation linking to my blog post about this in ONE PLACE.
I did not need to load G+, wade thru 100s of notifications to find all the threads, and I was way more able to effectively engage just the right peeps on G+ in a TENTH of the time normally required. And I did it on my blog post, not on G+.
To me that is Posting Meets Social At It's Best

If I've learned one thing while tracking all the changes across Google+ it's that your hovercard is hands-down the most important part of your profile. And the more active you are across Google, the more likely you are to "hand out" your hovercard to potential followers, networking contacts, and prospects.

Like Chuck Ferree and the many soldiers from World War II who have shared their stories with me. These young men, sent out to Europe to fight a war that was so vicious, you'd think they'd seen everything just on the battlefield.
Little did they know they were about to become Liberators....

Hangouts, phone calls and Google Voice
Thanks for all of your feedback on last week's Hangouts launch. I wanted to quickly talk about 1) making/receiving phone calls in Gmail, and 2) Google Voice support more generally.
1) Today's version of Hangouts doesn't yet support outbound calls on the web and in the Chrome extension, but we do support inbound calls to your Google Voice number. We're working hard on supporting both, and outbound/inbound calls will soon be available. In the meantime, you can continue using Google Talk in Gmail.
2) Hangouts is designed to be the future of Google Voice, and making/receiving phone calls is just the beginning. Future versions of Hangouts will integrate Google Voice more seamlessly.
