Well, I am not posting today. It seems G+ will not allow me to upload a photo so I will try some other time.

The Supervisor.
Isn't that the way, try to get your job done and someone will stand on the sidelines and supervise. The cubs were certainly learning a lot from this sow. She is a great mother and was a pleasure to watch. Again from the Russian River in Alaska. One of my favorite places for bear watching.

Fire Near the Madison
I took this image at the madison river in Yellowstone National Park. There was a forest fire near the madison, and as the early morning sun rose, with the early morning fog and dew rising from the warm waters of the madison …. it seemed to magnify the red in the fiery glow of the morning light, and this is the end result

Better with a friend...The view is always better when sharing with a friend. Here Buck and Abby were enjoying the beautiful scenery at Vermillion Lakes in Banff

Very Hungry
This image was taken in Namibia, Africa ….. it was very hungry indeed. The guide threw it a piece of meat as I was sitting down on the ground and taking the image with a Canon EOS-1Ds Mark III, with a Canon 70 X 200mm lens, set at 170mm, F/2.8

Get Going!
Just like kids...One hits the brakes and causes a train wreck. These two siblings on the Russian River in Alaska were way too much fun to watch.

Lucky Bear! Spring brings clover and the bears love clover. This bear with his mouthful of clover must have gotten a 4 leaf clover here and there. ;) Lucky Bear. This was taken in British Columbia in spring.

Bear's In Anchorage
Bears of all kinds have been an interest of mine for as long as I can remember, and I think I have one of the largest privately owned collection of images of bears that I know of (150,000). I go over and over my collection of images to see what I have that I can show to everyone. So here's one that I came up with.
This image is from the Ship Creek area of Anchorage. There is a very large thriving population of Brown bears that live among the human population right in Anchorage city limits, so I don't have to go far to find these bears when I'm in Alaska.

Schwabacher Landing is a beautiful spot that attracts photographers back over and over. This was early in the year and we didn't expect much company but there were other photographers there. If you look close you will see the photographer sitting by the waters edge waiting for just the right light.

Kenai Lake
This is an image that I took while on my drive to Kenai Lake, crossing the Bridge next to the town of Cooper landing… You don't get that many beautiful sun filled days in Alaska ……..But what a beautiful day that was.

For Memorial Day, this image seemed fitting. God Bless those who have served and those who gave the ultimate price for our freedom. May we all cherish that freedom.

Not Pretty
As these cubs and mother were walking down the path, the mother all of a sudden jumped into Brooks river when she saw a male getting a little to close and it was almost like it was on cue the one cub covering it's siblings eyes as if to say, "It's not going to be pretty".

When times are good everyone joins in the fun. In Valdez AK, Buck and I were photographing the bears coming in for the salmon when we got an unexpected surprise. A family of river otters came in to enjoy the feast as well. The hung around for over an hour eating and playing in the water.

This old sow was checking out some fishing line that she found in the river. She carefully followed it from end to end . Makes you wonder if she found a prize on the line at some point. Who says an old bear can't learn new tricks.

Something a bit different for me. A shot that I took in Hawaii on Oahu. Sure looks like a solitary paradise doesn't it. I think I did a great job of timing and positioning to make sure you don't see all of the people really at the pool and waterfall. Sure like the feel of the shot though

Pigging Out
When I went down to the Russian River, I saw this mother sow with triplets cubs, but as usual, she would not show them very much. It only seemed like she was more comfortable showing herself pigging out…..ergo the image name…. "Pigging Out"

Victoria Falls Overlook
When I was in Africa the last time, I wanted to see Victoria Falls so much that it was the only thing on my mine when I arrived in Zimbabwe and checked into the lodge that I was staying in ….. I made a beeline for the falls and stayed there almost all day photographing them …… It was worth it. This is an image that was at the end of the Falls where the great Zambezi River continues on and I wanted to see if I could help in getting some perspective of the immense size of the Falls … Hope this helps.

What's just around the bend? Well, sometimes you should be a bit cautious finding out. Just around the tree here I found Bully in the river fishing. Russian River in AK is his home and I love to visit him.

That moment right before the fight starts is pretty easy to spot. Of course with siblings like these two cubs on the Russian River in AK, it's also extremely common....

Stick and Fly Version II
I know that I put up this image before, but I want to say that this one is version II, for it's remake. This image (The first Version) has won many awards, both on many social networks, but also other awards in many magazines and galleries.I just thought to put this out, edited a little different than the first one. Hope you like.

It's your watch right? Most of you know the story of these Mountain Goats. Buck and I settled in to watch and photograph them until they left, only instead of leaving they came up and settled in for naps just a matter of yards below us. The trust was one of those special moments that don't come along every day. We stood watch and took a few shots too.

Hard Landing
Well I left the house yesterday morning on Mothers Day, down to Chickamauga Lake to see what images I could get and was meet at the shore with 16 great blue herons. Not concerned with me or with what I was doing. I also was trying out my new Canon 1DX and my 2X converter to see what images I was going to get with the combination before I go on my trip to Alaska on June 1st. Here are the results.

Hello Everyone,
You may have noticed that I deleted all of my images on facebook. I did this regretfully because Europe has passed a new law on Orphaned works. In a nutshell, Any image that is found on the internet without metadata stating the images owner and copywrite or watermarked so that the owner can easily be identified and contacted are now considered orphaned works and thereby free to be used by anyone in any way they wish, including commercially.
Facebook as well as some other social media sites automatically strip your metadata from images (presumably so the images are smaller) however, this leaves them free for the taking unless strongly watermarked. Read more here.

The Mullet Hair Bear
How I got this image was a little bit hairy. I had to position my self under this home made wooden bridge that was the width of Bird creek and had to get in the creek so that this bear could not see me. Here I was about 20 yards down the creek, shivering to death from being in the creek, and knowing all along that I was close enough to the bear that if he seen me and wanted to come after me …. I was a goner. But as it turned out he never seen me and I got some great shots of him.

Golden Morning at the Bend
© Jeff R. Clow
I just returned from Jackson Hole after spending several fun days photographing the fall colors with a dozen new friends. The area was full of warm, golden color.
The severe drought of this year has left Oxbow Bend much more shallow than I've ever seen it in the many years I have been visiting the area....

Portrait of a Moose
© Jeff R. Clow
A friend of mine let me borrow his Nikkor 500mm lens during a recent visit to Grand Teton National Park.... and I was able to get this "up close and personal" portrait of this cow moose which we spotted along the Gros Ventre River Road. She was so close that I had a hard time getting her within the frame of the shot.

Emergency personnel run for a cause in downtown San Antonio
The wife and I was in San Antonio this weekend for our company's annual Board meeting conference at the Hyatt Regency and we woke up and went out side to enjoy the Emergency personnel race for chance to go to New York memorial 9/11 run.In full gear, police and firefighters from all across the area took to the streets Sunday morning. It wasn't for a call, but rather for a cause. The race started and ended in front of the Alamo. (more pictures to come).

Hmmmm Good
Most bears when eating salmon, will only eat the brains, skin, and the salmon eggs, because that is where most of the protein is ……. But this bear never waisted one single ounce of any salmon she caught, and in fact, I'm not sure how she gained all that weight with as slow as she eat every bit of that salmon. She must be doing something right though.
