Social Media for Photographers

When it comes to being a photographer, there is no shortage of online networks waiting for you to share your images, interact with others and potentially grow your business. From Google+ to Facebook, Twitter to Pinterest, 500px to Flickr, you have more options at your disposal now then ever before. But what really is Social Media? Why is it so important? Over the next few weeks, I will be releasing a series of posts titled “Social Media for Photographers”. While I will be giving a broad over view of social media here today, each subsequent blog post will cover a specific social network (Google+, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and Stipple), allowing you to have a more in depth look at the positiveand ... more »

Creative Suite 6 Design and Web & Lightroom 4 - Charity Auction

Are you thinking about buying Adobe's Creative Suite 6 Design and Web product? Here's a chance to do it at a good price and also help a good cause - one of the many new things we're doing as +Photographers for Good Foundation.

You'll recall that couple of months ago I had an auction to benefit my friend Brett Anderson and his son Jackson who were raising funds for Cystic Fibrosis Foundation ("CFF"). Jackson was born with Cystic Fibrosis and is also my son's best friend, so I always join in these efforts when he's doing it. We hope both kids can enjoy long friendship throughout their lives.

Brett and I will be doing 100km bike ride in the Bay Area three weeks from now and Brett is raising funds for that. He also works for Adobe, and good folks there donated CS6... more »

Here is a small portion of another big panorama I did yesterday morning. No time for details other than there was a lot of stitching involved, the light and fog were awesome! Definitely check out the big version and then download the 1800 pixel full sized version for extra goodness.

Or go to http://www.patricksmithphotography.com/pano_shrouded_city_san_francisco.html for a 6,000 pixel wide mini version of the entire pano!
