I was just up in a chopper over these amazing mountains in New Zealand.

Wow... just add a few clouds over these dramatic mountains, and you get an instant painting...

Insano: The World's Tallest Water Slide

The Insano is the highest water slide in in the world at 41 meters, a record listed in the Guinness Book of Records. Height equivalent to a 14-floor building.

As a consequence of the elevation and slope, this water slide provides a very fast descent - taking between four and five seconds - at a speed of 105 km / h. Because of these characteristics, the Insano is considered the most extreme of this type of equipment on the planet. At the end of the track, the Insano Provides you with a relaxed dive into the swimming pool.  +I Can't Believe It

Today we're marking the birth of a someone who is a hero to many of us at Google. Alan Turing was born 100 years ago into a world very different from our own—but he’s a founding father of every computer and Internet company today. In 1936, his paper “On Computable Numbers”  introduced two key concepts, “algorithms” and “computing machines," which now rank among the most important intellectual breakthroughs of the 20th century.

In the evolution of computing, all paths trace back to Turing—so we're proud to help commemorate and preserve his legacy. In 2010 we helped raise funds to preserve Turing's papers at Bletchley Park, and recently we’ve worked with curators at London’s Science Museum on their new exhibition “Codebreaker - Alan Turing’s Life and Legacy.” And of course, we couldn't let this occasion pass without a doodle. If you visit our homepagetoday, you'll find a s... more »

In 1932, a chemical company owner named Richard M. Hollingshead, Jr. set a projector on the hood of his car, nailed a screen to some nearby trees, and began some experiments in his New Jersey driveway. Several months and one patent later, Hollingshead opened the first commercial drive-in theater (slogan: “The whole family is welcome, regardless of how noisy the children are”) on June 6, 1933. Our animated video-doodle in the U.S. today celebrates this American tradition.

Join Vint Cerf, Chief Internet Evangelist at Google and one of the Internet's “founding fathers,” Google IPv6 engineers +Lorenzo Colitti and +Erik Kline, Comcast IPv6 architect +John Jason Brzozowski and Cisco fellow +Mark Townsley to discuss IPv6, why we need it and how it benefits the Internet. 12-Mile-High Martian Dust Devil Caught in Act

A Martian dust devil roughly 12 miles high (20 kilometers) was captured whirling its way along the Amazonis Planitia region of Northern Mars on March 14. It was imaged by the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) camera on NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter. Despite its height, the plume is little more than three-quarters of a football field wide (70 yards, or 70 meters).

Dust devils occur on Earth as well as on Mars. They are spinning columns of air, made visible by the dust they pull off the ground. Unlike a tornado, a dust devil typically forms on a clear day when the ground is heated by the sun, warming the air just above the ground. As heated air near the surface rises quickly through a small pocket of cooler air above it, the air may begin to rotate, if conditions are just right.

365 Project - Day 141
Sydney's Easter Storm

I've shared this a few times in different albums. It's part of the partially uploaded album from my Sydney Easter trip, and part of my Prints album. Which look amazing printed out. I'm serious. =P So it's about time I share it for the Album I usually take photos in mind of.

It was a 1200 lightning strike storm and boy did I get some awesome shots. This one here is probably my favourite from the storm, and the one that prints amazingly well. The storm was also responsible for causing my +Olympus E-620 to lock up for 12 hours due to the total drenching it took, I think this shot was after it had started acting up too, so the fact that I got it is rather awesome in retrospect.

This image was taken during one of my visits of this magic place !
Makhtesh Ramon is a geological feature of Israel's Negev desert. Located at the peak of Mount Negev, some 85 km south of the city of Beersheba, the landform is not actually an impact crater from a meteor, but rather is the world's largest makhtesh. The crater is 40 km long, 2-10 km wide and 500 meters deep, and is shaped like an elongated heart. The only settlement in the area is the small town of Mitzpe Ramon located on the northern edge of the crater. Today the crater and surrounding area forms Israel's largest national park, the Ramon Nature Reserve.

Revisit, Revisit, Revisit
Do you know why I never get any work done? Because I keep revisiting. Just went back to look at this print for a sale, and as I was looking at it, I was like "Let me go back to the negative and try something else."

I'm constantly trying something else . A new burning technique, going back to the orignal images instead of HDR, a "push" of a part of it in another direction. Even after I print and sign it sometimes, I still go back and say "You know.. I could have done this.. " It would madden you to know how many variants i've made of it.

How about you guys? When you are done with a shot, are you done? How often do you revisit?
