I just had a brilliant idea for showertime creativity! Put a roll of wax paper on a plastic paper towel holder and keep a peeled crayon in the shower so you can jot down your ideas. Then you can just rip the paper off and go, and you'll have paper ready for the next shower!

Australian Scientists Develop Printable A3-Sized Solar Cells
Scientists have produced the largest flexible, plastic solar cells in Australia – 10 times the size of what they were previously able to – thanks to a new solar cell printer that has been installed at CSIRO.

According to CSIRO materials scientist Dr Scott Watkins, printing cells on such a large scale opens up a huge range of possibilities for pilot applications.

"There are so many things we can do with cells this size," he says. "We can set them into advertising signage, powering lights and other interactive elements. We can even embed them into laptop cases to provide backup power for the machine inside."

This little guy landed on my rearview mirror just after I left the office to pick-up the roomie. I was very impressed that he stayed pretty much in the same spot for the rest of the trip, clinging on at speeds just over 40 MPH. The bumps in the road upset his hold and he almost was blown off a few times but he made it home. I hope that's where he wanted to go!

#naturepicsoftheday  Today we only have pictures of Chilly. A sandpiper isn't very common around our parts so I want to send in a picture of it to the local paper. Which do you like the best?

So I spent another two batteries and nearly an hour watching and interacting with the curlew sandpiper. When I arrived by the cattails, the bird flew over to about six feet from me. A child was noisily roller skating by and scared the bird off. I went around to the logs and shoreline the bird had been on yesterday and there it was. I've decided to call it Chilly as it is reasonably chill as long as I'm four feet from it and because it shakes like crazy in the cold pond water. I took 47 saveable pictures and two videos, including this one where he's eating.

This seems to be the Curlew Sandpiper. It is quite rare in these parts so it was amazing that I got to see it. I hope it stays around so I can see it more.

KFC/Taco Bell does interesting math. 2 chocolate chip cookies = $0.98, but 3 chocolate chip cookies = $1.69.  I guess if you don't know they're $0.49 each, getting 3 for $1.69 doesn't sound like a bad deal! #TheMoreYouKnow

The new hair color and my second favorite skirt ever owned. The hair is bright red but not as bright as I feared it would be. There's something I forgot about the skirt, it is slit on both sides and when it is windy ... well, it likes to fly up. Doh! Thankfully no one was outside!
