I'm genuinely beginning to forget what it was even like to enjoy this network... whatever intellectualism and verve it once had is altogether gone, replaced with the pissy pedantry that was always a background din and no longer has anything redeeming to drown it out.

Do it! Do it now!

These are definitely worth it.

Pick Up TWO Dark Urban Fantasy Books for Just $2.98 For One Week Only.

Wyrd Calling has been reduced down to just 99c (usually $3.99) and Feathered Touch is being launched at just $1.99.

If you're looking for two dark urban fantasy reads, for just $2.98 then you have one short week to pick these up.

Wyrd Calling
In the streets of the city, someone or something is killing sirens, and the Wyrd Sisters want it stopped.

They send their bound creation Thalia, the wild-child shifter, to track the killer down. Thalia would much rather be making a quick buck or playing with the fae, but bound is bound and Thalia must turn her new pack of shifters into an effective team to try and stop the killings. Time is as short as Thalia's temper. Can she make her pack work together and find the killer, or will the killer find her first?

Wyrd Calling: Dark urban fantasy just shifted.

ONLY 99c
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OYQZJ6Q

Feathered Touch
Deep in the ancient forests, a strange cult led by angels is slaughtering innocent humans. The Wyrd Sisters send their troubleshooter Thalia and her pack into the forest to stop them. Thalia thinks this will be a welcome distraction from problems with her pack and with her ever-more-tangled love life … but there’s more going on than she knows. The leader of the cult has an ambitious goal: To kill the gods. All the gods.

Thalia finds herself torn between her past and a possible new future. Does she chase her centuries-old dream of freedom, or stand by the Sisters – and pay the ultimate price?

Having read an advance copy, I was very impressed with this piece. It's well worth pre-ordering.

For those who may have missed it.

Feathered Touch book 2 in my dark urban fantasy series is up for pre-order! It's only $1.99, but will go up to $3.99 soon after the full release.

Every time I deal with indie authors, I find them more contemptible and pathetic than the time before.

Yes, there are exceptions but I can genuinely say that I find complete illiterates (not to be confused with mere subliterates) more interesting, insightful, artistically minded, and reasonable than the average indie author.

I genuinely don't know if the same can be said for traditionally published authors, having never have the pleasure of dealing with them, but at the very least indies have given no sign that, as a group, they have any features more redeeming than blind, pathological loyalty to those with whom they personally identify.

"I hate the new policy about giving reviews to people I know!"

Why so, very reasonable indie author not at all living in a delusional fantasy world?

"It stops me from supporting my friends with positive reviews of their work!"

Would you ever give a friend a bad review if their work was garbage, deeply ethical and altogether perceptive indie author?

"Of course not! That would be a personal attack like all negative reviews! I only want to be supportive!"

Exactly.

The reason they did it is to stop circle-jerking of the precise sort indie authors are (very rightly) infamous for. You hate it for the same reason pederasts hate the Amber Alert system.

I was very upset with Google for filtering search results to agree with their socio-political agenda. Outraged, even. I thought to myself, "Well, fuck them, I can replace them with like 10 other people! This is one man willing to lead the charge!"

Then I started looking around and realized that Apple, Amazon, eBay, and like a thousand others are also banning content containing certain symbols they disagree with.

Now I just feel... lonely.

I've been thinking about it, and I don't think it's fair to say that the American people are being oppressed by their government, per se. I would say it's fairer to liken it to a D/s relationship:

Yes, they're being brutalized, yes they have no basic civil rights, but they agreed to it in advance so they must be into that.

When Henry Ford created the five-dollar day in 1914 he was a progressive and an idealist, but by 1937 he was a bitter reactionary with little regard for workers.

Funny how often all it takes for a hopeful idealist to become an embittered misanthrope is extended exposure to the people he's trying to help.

Speaking from experience, that is.

I hate work more than the next guy, do as little of it as I can get away with, but the bottom line is that the economic functionality that's so reviled is what gives us the luxurious way of life that has somehow become so normal that people think working for it makes you a sucker.

Intellectualism is, by and large, competitive. The flaw becomes immediately apparent. If we presume Truth to be the goal, admittedly something of a leap in many circles, we must then surely acknowledge that the pursuit thereof through rhetorical means disadvantages those who cannot perform rhetorically. Having done so, we have created artificial selection in which it is not the best ideas which rise to the top, but rather the ideas espoused by the most eloquent speakers.

Plato spoke on the subject at length; I'm hardly unique. Yet we still seem to be making the same mistake, so perhaps my glib address to it remains necessary, if self-indulgent.

Death is not the ultimate form of equality. Time and comfort of death is determined by genetics, by wealth (itself frequently the product of capricious circumstance), by place and nature of origin, and by a hundred other factors, none of which are equal.

To say the fact that we all die means that death is an equalizer is like saying that the fact everyone finishes a race so the race was an equalizer.

If I was born healthy and rich in a developed nation and live to be 85 in good health, only eventually dying because my bottle-a-day habit caught up with me, that is in no way equal to some poor son of a bitch that dies of malaria and malnutrition at age 8 because his father was killed in a diamond conflict and his mother couldn't support him in the mines.

If I was born healthy and rich in a developed nation and live to be 85 in good health, only eventually dying because my bottle-a-day habit caught up with me, that is in no way equal to some poor son of a bitch that dies of malaria and malnutrition at age 8 because his father was killed in a diamond conflict and his mother couldn't support him in the mines.___

I kind of want to offer my ultimate Prague party perk on +Shen Hart's Kickstarter... anyone interested? What'd it be worth to you?

Do it! Now! Do it now!

I must admit I'd given up on this plan, but given people are showing an interest I'm trying again. Help me fund the cover art for the next two books in my Wyrd Bound series. This is the only way I'll be able to publish books this year.

There are some great perks there (other people's words not mine) and only 4 days left!!

I'll even do a video later. ___Do it! Now! Do it now!
