How did the idea for self-writing code come to you?
I have a friend who works on the self-driving car project and he’s always bragging about how easy it is to commute when the car does the work for him. One day, it occurred to me— it’s one thing to save your effort and energy on the commute to work, but it would really be awesome to save your effort and energy while you’re AT work.

Oh, from the mouths of babes. This kid totally blew me away There are just too many unbelievable quotes in here to pick a favorite, but one thing I really love and appreciate about him is his repeated, humble admission that he may not know--that perhaps he is wrong. Most adults don't even have the confident humility to admit that.
His answer to what the meaning of life is brought me to tears. I won't even bother quoting is because you just have to watch it in full. Can't wait to see what this kid becomes as he continues to grow.

As I feel more and more alone, my phone confidently connects with everyone.
As I feel more and more lost, my phone calmly knows how to get anywhere,
As I struggle to remember mundane things like the name of that movie with the boat and the guy with the lip, my phone smugly recalls literally everything.
As I increasingly lose the nouns, verbs and adjectives that once stood ready to articulate my thoughts, my phone taunts me with its instant access to all the words there have ever been.
There is only one possible conclusion. Slowly, without realizing it. It seems I have outsourced my mind to my phone. And to make matters worse, the damn thing knows it... and it's starting to screw with me. A Week of Africa
After a week of business meetings in the cities of sub-saharan africa, we can surely say three things are new for the continent:
a) the despotic leadership in Africa from the 1970s and 1980 is in decline, replaced by younger and more democratic leaders
b) a huge youth demographic boom is underway, with a majority of the population of 25, or even under 20
c) mobile phones are everywhere, and the Internet in Africa will be primarily a mobile one
Many of the older problems are still severe, including a lack of electric power, the general trend of rural to urban migration, and pervasive corruption. Every country we visited had an internal security problem, or a significant border problem, and the elites are sheltered from this pervasive concern behind guarded walls, hotels and restaurants with gates and security checks, and ubiquitous guards.
