I made a blog about the new Star Trek movie, which turned into a few cultural observations and I wanted to share it:

You are officially mildly spoiled if you read below, NO COMPLAINTS!

Up front I will say I enjoyed this latest Star Trek movie a lot.  It was super noisy, but enjoyable, beautifully executed, and I particularly like some of the secondary characters, Spock was excellent, etc etc.  I just want to share an observation that stuck with me:

Where are the women?  The strong women?  The women we’d like to see in 200 years?  Where are they in this world?  They certainly aren’t around the roundtable when the Starfleet are learning about Khan (there might have been one in that scene, if so that extra was not cut to in any significant manner to be notable.)  In the scene where Kirk gets his ship back and the admiral is having a meeting with “important”people around ... more »

I'm back from vacay!!!!!  I did NOT log online for 8 DAYS!  It was actually kind of amazing, I'm glad to be back though!

Hey all! Thank you so much for your patience during TableTop Day and +Geek & Sundry second season launch week, it's been a lot of postings, but I think we've done great content and hope you do too!

Are you doing/attending an event?  There are thousands across the world taking place, whether just a group of friends or a local game shop throwing an extravaganza!!  Join in and share your experience online, we're trying to create something lasting, so the bigger the better!

Check +Wil Wheaton's blog out, he's got graphics you can print out cut-outs of him and me to prop up on your table for the event, haha.  Brilllliant.

I am very proud to announce that +Geek & Sundry will be releasing more content for the coming year, and I voice some thoughts on Geek-dom in general (nervous it's too deep, but whatever, I'm feeling it and I want to let you know!)  
The culture I am a part of has been through a lot of growing pains recently, and I wanted to talk honestly about why I do stuff and how I see our world, because it's taken a lot of soul-searching to even put it into words. 

What do YOU think about the state of Geek?  Does anything I say ring true? Or is it a non-issue?  I'm really curious.

Finally! I can announce that Season Two of Tabletop will premiere on April fourth! I’ve wanted to talk about this for months, but I couldn’t, because of reasons.

But now we can talk about it, so…

We have some amazing guests this season, including Jeri Ryan, Seth Green, Bobak Ferdosi, Ashley Clements, Patrick Rothfuss, and my son, Ryan Wheaton.

We have some amazing games this season, including Smash Up, Star Trek Catan, Shadows Over Camelot, Lords of Waterdeep, and The Resistance!

New Floggg I play some games with my brother.  KEEN EYES point out that I'm holding three games in this segment up top.  We MEANT to play another game, some lizard fighting game, but when we put it in the cartridge was broken, SO we had to edit around it.
