ice cream making
since the summer wont show up I have to at least pretend its summer so here we go, my home made ice-cream:

200 gr your fav fruit
1 1/2 dl sugar
3 egg whites
500 gr greek yogurt

whip egg whites untill stiff, add the sugar in slowly until you have some nice and white meringue.  Add half of the yogurt and stir, then add the rest of the yogurt and keep blending.  Add your fav fruit and put in freezer.  I put mine in my ice-cream blender to get the extra texture.  Volá my summer just arrived :-D

piece of art
sometimes the beach is just like a piece of art.  This is just one of my favourite beach nearby the city.  Just takes me like 10 min to go there and I always enjoy it there because the sound of the sea is quite special there.  Its calming and soothing somehow.  This was shot right before sunset and everything was so quiet and the sand was so unspoiled with all those strange texture in it.  Looks like ice but it isn´t

old abandoned factory by lake Kleifarvatn.  It´s situated in the southern part of the Reykjanes peninsula on the fissure zone of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. The lake and its surroundings can be reached via a track, and there are two areas with high temperature that can be found not far from it. Earthquakes are common in this area !

a little bit of last summer
since the summer and or spring hasn´t arrived in Iceland and flowers and flora are not very much visible I have to post something from last summer.  I just need summer, I need sun and I need a little bit of warmth in my life.  Hope you are having a warm day with some sun

My interest in shooting churches have increased for some reason and Im gonna try shoot as many as I can when travelling this summer.  This one is called Thingvallakirkja and is located in the national park at Thingvellir.  This church is one of Iceland’s first churches. The original was consecrated in the 11th century

I want to share with you how this church really affected me.  Exactly like this;  black and spooky.  When you drive along the coast line you notice the church for a while when driving and its really spectacular because its quite isolated and for some reason you can´t take your eyes off it while driving.  There is something magical about this place and this area.  When I arrived there was no one there.  Waves where crashing just a few meters away, the sandstorm was getting closer, tiny little rain drops started to fall down and crazy loud Arctic terns where all over probably protecting their nests.  This place is one of a few I actually can´t stop thinking about so as said  I have to go again for some reason.

thats the name of this beautiful little church I found yesterday.  Its in one of my favourite area in Iceland, the south part of the country but my first time there yesterday.   I had seen photos of this little church and decided to drive there yesterday and wow this place blew me away.  The church is located just by the ocean and there is nothing else there.  You can hear the sound of the big waves crashing and the sound of the nature and birds as well.  Unfortunately I didn´t have much time so I had to go back sooner than I wanted.  I will go again soon.

ok Google+ is a mess after the latest update  Still having problem uploading and can´t properly upload to the correct album (still have to move my image afterwards into the album) and now if I choose a certain circle to view in my stream just old photos show up uhhh.

a scared friend
last summer I stayed in this holiday house in west Iceland.  Every evening I heard this sound, sound from this little one, like it was scared or looking for someone.  The lamb was always alone and I thought probably it has lost his mom.  I tried to approach it but it was  too scared and always ran away.  This was the closes I got.

SOS people over here.  Can you put your images in the correct album when uploading ?  Is there anyone who knows how to transfer a photo afterwards into the correct album (it was possible before).  Now I can just copy the image to a new album.  Hmmmmm %&#$#T$%!"#!"#

I always see faces in the icelandic nature and this is always what I see when Im viewing this spot.  Dont know about you ?!?
This image is from the south coast nearby the famous "Dyrhólaey" cliff.  this beach is so beautiful an gives one endless opportunities to shoot and or just relax and enjoy.

Many Icelandic folk tales have been associated with Barnafoss, the most famous being about two boys from a nearby farm, Hraunsás. One day, the boys' parents went with their ploughmen to a church. The boys were supposed to stay at home, but as they grew bored they decided to follow their parents. They made a shortcut and crossed a natural stone-bridge that was above the waterfall. But on their way, they felt dizzy and fell into the water and drowned. When their mother found out what had happened, she put a spell on the bridge saying that nobody would ever cross it without drowning himself. A little while later, the bridge was demolished in an earthquake.

good friends
those of you that have been to Iceland knows that there are so many horses all around the country.  You dont have to drive long until you see the next group of horses.  The best part is that they are very friendly and curious and its very easy to approach them and be friendly with them.  Just give them some grass, talk to them or just smile and be nice and they will do the same (maybe not the grass part though:))

gloomy day
this image is taken on a very gloomy morning last summer when I was travelling in west part of Iceland, Borgarfjordur.   Its in the area of "Deildartunguhver". 
Deildartunguhver thermal spring is the largest of its kind in Iceland. The water temperature can be as high as 100ºC, and the spring produces 180 litres of water per second. This thermal energy has been well utilized, and is used to heat houses in Akranes, 64km away and Borgarnes, 34km away. The area around the spring grows a variety of fern which does not grow anywhere else in Iceland. The spring is protected by the government and so remains unspoilt and is an interesting place to visit

2012 summer memories
Last summer is in my mind right now, both photos and memories.  maybe because I see and feel the summer of 2013 is slowly ticking in.  Can´t wait to go out and stay out in the countryside in the most beautiful light ever and dont need to think about to hurry because the light is not going anywhere.  It just stays there 24 hours.  How amazing !
This photo is taken in a beautiful place in the west part of Iceland, Borgarfjordur, waterfall called Hraunfossar" (meaning lava falls).  Its one of many magic places you can find in Iceland.

this photo is taken on a beautiful island called Videy which is located right outsite Reykjavík city.  You just jump on board and sail for 5 min and there you are.  You can hike around the island and enjoy some beautiful beaches, birds and flora and even horses (ofcourse).  The city can also be viewed from there.   There is a very cool restaurant on the island in a beautiful old house and in winter time you can enjoy the so called imagine peace tower light.  I highly recommend taking some time there if you are staying in Reykjavík

everything is still frozen and cold in Iceland and in the North the snow is still massive.  They say its the coldest spring for a long time and people in the North have had constanst snow for 8 months now and it seems that its not going away according to the forecast.

Icelanders used to believe in those creatures and it was said the elves and dwarfs lived in stones like these.  Today there are still people who believe in this stuff and even so strongly that they refuse to move stones like you see in this picture because its said that if you do the little people will be angry and sad
