Oklahoma City Tornado 2013: Twister Makes Landfall Near Capital (LIVE UPDATES, PHOTOS, VIDEO)

At least one tornado touched down near Oklahoma City on Monday, only one day after a tornado killed two in Shawnee.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado emergency, which CNN reports as a rare occurrence. According to a tweet from KFOR Channel 4 in Oklahoma City, the twister measures 1.25 miles wide.

School Suffered 'Extensive Damage'
The AP reports:

Authorities say an elementary school in an Oklahoma City suburb took a direct hit from a mile-wide tornado. Gary Knight with the Oklahoma City Police Department says there is no word of injuries from the elementary school. Knight says the school suffered "extensive damage" on Monday afternoon. He did not say which school was hit.

I was just checking out whether the group membership area had any changes to it, and went in to check on who we've invited.

Wow, somehow we invited Infiniti (yeah - the auto maker) to be a member of this group. Did I somehow do that by accident (I don't follow them or anything...) or, how did that happen? Oh well.

Apparently we also invited +William Shatner , but that's OK because I'd love it if he joined!

My guess is that one or more of us invited circles that had been derived from other circles that weren't completely sorted.

All this has me thinking about how we can use circles and other G+ features like pages and which are best to achieve social media goals to elect more liberal and progressive Democrats...and keep them filtered in an easy way rather than by hand.

Call it the Y++! - An update to my year old blog post on Yahoo

A lot has happened at Yahoo since my original post. Mr. Thompson was not it. He had to leave due to Resumegate and Yahoo's board was revamped due to activist investors. Marissa Mayer was hired away from Google to be the new CEO and she appears to be doing what Mr. David Johnson did at Dell. Making astute acquisitions. Her Mandate is completely different from the new board. Focus on Growth rather than Operating Expense reduction.

The speculation is that Yahoo might be interested in acquiring Tumblr for $1 Billion. Tumblr might be holding out for a better deal. This could turn out to be an excellent acquisition if it does go through. Why?

Yahoo could integrate Tumblr with Flickr and Yahoo content to create a great Social Network. Finally that Socialized Flickr with the much younger Tumblr user base. Call... more »
