After heavy floods started to affect several cities in Iraq last week, UN-SPIDER has activated its network and was able - through the Indian Space Agency - to disseminate satellite images of the area. UNOSAT subsequently processed the data into a flood map, which is now available on their website.

Over the period March 22-24, 2013, northern and western regions of Ukraine experienced during just three days an amount of snowfall that would normally fall in an entire month. The following rise of temperature caused a high flood risk for the region.
