Charles Lupica83,296═════════════════════════════════     Top Photographers you should follow                 An Art of Photography Circle  Photographers whose art we think will amaze you ═════════════════════════════════#ArtOfPhotographyCircle tag to allow people to easily mute this post. It's been a while since I shared a circle here on G+ so I thought I would team up with +Scott Thomas and +Brian Dukes to share with you the first new circle I've created in more than a year.  We think you'll find that the photographers in this circle are some of the very best that G+ has to offer.  Of course you're probably already following people like Jeff Sullivan , Lori Hibbett, Jay Patel and  Vivienne Gucwa but we think that all of the people in this circle will add high quality content to your stream.  All share their amazing work and many of them share tutorials and resources to help you perfect your art. When deciding who would be in this circle, we used these guidelines• Sharing mostly their own work• When sharing the work of others, the work is clearly identified• Little to no, promotional material. • Some people are included that share a lot about technique but may not share a lot of their photography.• If they have gifs in their stream, they're almost always educational. • The images shared by these people frequently fall into the category of, "I wish I'd taken it" • They post to G+ on a regular basis,  For some this may be a little as once a month.  For others, this may be one or more a day.  People who post less than once a month are not included.  We prefer to circle people that are active here on G+. No one has asked to be in this circle, however, we intend to share a version of this each month.  *If you know of a talented photographer you'd like us to add*, please leave a comment and share the circle.  Doing so will get us to look at their profile. However, there is no guarantee that we'll include them in a future circle.   We want to maintain the quality of this circle.  Therefore, we will only add photographers that we would want to see in our own personal stream. Many of the photographers in this circle are well known so we are particularly interested in hearing your choice of photographers with fewer than 15'000 followers.  We would like to give them the opportunity to gain more views for their work. Please plus, comment and share.  This circle has no requirements for future participation but your support and encouragement is appreciated.I have chosen the name of the circle carefully to try to accurately represent the quality of the work by the photographers in it.  ValidationThis circle was very heavily vetted.  We have looked at each photographer's stream and decide that we would like to include them in this circle. +Charles Lupica (me), +Scott Thomas and +2014-06-27 17:39:05116934953CC G+

David Bowden37,155Its been awhile....For over three years I collected and shared an exclusive B&W circle. This circle "was" one of the most shared on G+ for awhile. I would share it once a month with everyone as a part of my personal desire to share more quality B&W images and photographers. The requirement for being in this circle was that the photographer shot at least 60% B&W images (I tend to shoot 80%).There are some excellent photographers and friends here. I encourage you to take a look at their work. While I know that bulk circle sharing is a thing of the past or no longer the norm on G+ (which is a shame) I wanted to re-share a collection of truly inspirational people. You wont be disappointed. Re-share if you like their work</david>2014-05-06 23:16:1649012223CC G+

Mark Goodman8,406Introducing the Photographer Inspiration and Engagement circle. This is a collection of photographers I personally find inspiring as well as active and engaging on Google+. My hope is that if you like my work you'll also thoroughly enjoy the posts of those included in this circle.  Who's in the PIE? You knew there'd be a hook right ;)- Mostly Landscape, Cityscape and Architectural photographers.- Share mostly original content.- Photogs that I relate to they way they take a photo, process a photo or that I want to dabble in a similar look to what they achieve.- A few people that have shared me in previous circles with an appreciation for their support.Who's not in the PIE?- A lot of outstanding photographers that may just have a different style or shoot a different genre from my own. You can consider them the ice cream on the side :)- People I haven't discovered even if they might be in my circles and people I may have overlooked. It's a big Google+ ocean but I hope to continue adding people that fit this particular circle in the future. - No spammers or non-photography related streams. If you find that's not the case please send me a message. Please add and reshare the circle so others may enjoy what I think is an extremely high quality circle.Have a great day and enjoy your enhanced content stream!2014-04-06 16:56:5721024720CC G+
S arifin1,187Today I want to share a circle which all architects and interior areas like, if you like, you can enter this circle to complete your architect friends. Among them are those who have the following websites: http://arsindociptakarya.com http://www.tomjaks.com http://selarasdesain.com http://decoratingbydonna.com http://www.interiorsbystephanie.net http://www.facebook.com/dekor.interiors http://arsitekrumahinterior.tumblr.comhttp://arsitekrumahinterior.wordpress.cometc So it is very important for those of you who already have a website and do not have a circle of people who love, working in the field of interior and architects to share this circle in your profile. This circle can be useful to popularize your work design project and also the results of your work. The requirement to obtain this circle, enough to share, plus, and say thank you to fill out a comment about this circle. #architect     #interior     #circleshare     #circleoftheday     #publiccircleshared     #sharedcircle     #interiorcircle     #architectcircle     #interiordesigncircle    #todayssharedcircle #topsharedcircle 2014-03-06 23:56:05500726CC G+

Promote Photography8,407THE FIRST 401 PROMOTED!!!!You have been chosen by +Promote Photography  because your work is very good and have to be promoted / shared. If you do not share this circle you will still be in it! But if you do share we will be thankful to you!Next share at 500If you like to be in it you can tag us #promotephotography there is no guaranty but it will help us found your work!Share if you like!  READ THIS NOTE BY +Rodney Campbell (well seen, thank you!)Note that I got an error when trying to add the Circle +Promote Photography  - not the usual domain restriction error where it still creates the circle but the one where it says it can't add one or more people and/or pages.Unfortunately it's +Alycia Miller  entry which is causing the error for me (and also for at least one other circle I'm aware of) - when I remove her from the circle before adding it adds fine. +Alycia Miller  is already in multiple of my circles so not a problem for me but others may not be able to add this circle. I can also see her account looks to have been Fubar'd by G+ at the moment (it's empty of posts)2013-09-01 10:58:4040113462113CC G+

Of course there will be mitigating factors...Because of the way that Google no longer presents every person who adds me to their circles to me it is quite possible that I have missed some pretty good photographers.  If I am following you, chances are that you are already in one of these circles or in my "check later" circle.  If you think you have been missed, tag a comment on one of these posts and I will check your profile out for inclusion.  Guidelines for inclusion can be found at: https://plus.google.com/u/0/103752943025677384806/about#circleshare #circlesharing #circleoftheday #handpickedcircles   #sharedcircles #sharedcircle #sharedpubliccircles   #fullcircleshare #addmetoyourcircles #pixelworld   #pixelworldcircle #circleoftheday #bestsharedcircle #thebestcirclesongoogle #thebestcircle  Note: the hash tag #handpickedcircles  should only be used to refer to these circles and other circles created by +2013-06-13 10:33:59343408CC G+

Charles Lupica66,461             Top 1000 most followed active        photographers sharing content on G+                  Circle One: A to JThis  is the first of two circles,  I'll share the second circle this weekend so that they're not so on top of each other.  The circles have been divided alphabetically to help give more exposure to people with fewer followers. Please plus, comment and share.  This circle has no requirements for future participation but your support and encouragement is appreciated. It has been two weeks since I announced my intent to update my circle of the 500 most followed photographers on G+.  I decided to do things a bit differently this time and so I'll share the top 1000.   To build the circles and the list I enlisted the aid of +Bill Wood +Gemma Costa +Jen Baptist +Kat Scan and +Margaret Tompkins.  They built circles and vetted profiles.  My starting point for this was a list of 2000 names generously provided to me by +CircleCount.  Thank you all for all of your help.I have chosen the name of the circle carefully to try to accurately represent the contents of what will be in the two circles. The script / finding namesThe script is provided by CircleCount and looks through the tagline of every profile on CircleCount to find the word "photo" or "foto".  If a photographer doesn't have a CircleCount profile they won't be found.  If one of these two words isn't in their tagline, they won't be found.  A few people I know have fallen into this flaw in my thinking.  To fix this, CircleCount has asked me to provide a "whitelist" of names that the script misses.  The white-list list adds another 30 or so names to the result. How was the list processedThe list was sorted by the level of activity.  People that hadn't posted in the last month (approximately April 5 to May 5th) were removed from the list.  This included people that hadn't posted or people that had posted only once in the past 4 weeks.  Again, this has some flaws but I'm mostly happy with the results.  People who are posting only in private communities or people that interact a lot with other people but don't post their own work will get filtered out along with the people that aren't really active.  ValidationThese two circles were very heavily vetted.  Of the original 2000 names, nearly 35% do not appear in either circle.  This is a result of the filtering I mentioned above and vetting of ever single profile in the list until we had enough names to make a list of 1000 names.  The list was divided into 6 parts with Bill Wood, Gemma Costa, Jen Baptist, Kat Scan, Margaret Tompkins and me each taking a group of names.  I tried to assign the list so that the pe2013-05-16 16:41:2850113479149CC G+

Magnus Ericson25,068This is absolutely the first time I create and share a public circle. I have named the circle "Artistic People" Most are photographers who continually share their own pictures of good quality. The only thing you need to do to get into, and stay in the circle is to continue to have me in your circles and share your own great photos without a lot of other bling bling in your stream.I've probably forgotten one or more that should have been in the circle, but I'm neither the first nor the last to do so.Hope you like my first public circle and that you pass it along to your own circles. Please leave a comment of what you think.2013-05-09 17:03:0122533827CC G+

Or, I had a senior moment and missed them.  I thought I had avoided that this time but I still managed to miss +Magnus Ericson should should be around 454. I noticed some interesting things when compiling this circle.  There are a lot of people that moved into the top 500 that abandoned G+ for some reason or their interaction has become one post a month.  I have also noticed that many of the photographers in this group have a lower follower count than they had 6 weeks to 8 weeks ago.  I'm not sure what conclusion can be drawn from this but I find it very curious. To view the lists please see the following links.001 to 080: http://goo.gl/mmr7w  4'431'409 - 55771081 to 160: http://goo.gl/mXuup  55368 - 37454161 to 240: http://goo.gl/rLmy1  37343 - 30457241 to 320: http://goo.gl/o06Hy  30131 -25785321 to 390: http://goo.gl/747Lf  25760 -23013390 to 450: http://goo.gl/xDc2D  23006 - 21347450 to 510: http://goo.gl/sEnac  21321 - 194402013-02-23 23:33:145001353999CC G+

Steveston Mooring - http://www.grantmurrayphotography.com/

Dedicated to my Seattle BFF +dene' miles on her birthday. :-)

This is a 30 second exposure of an old mooring in Steveston, which is a great little fishing village in Richmond, British Columbia. The rocks in the foreground cooperated to form a great crescent shape and helped to frame the image naturally...timing is everything :-)

I used a 10 and a 3 stop ND filter, and stacked a 3 stop soft grad ND filter, to get the right level of contrast in the clouds and water.

Steveston is a really great little place to visit, with awesome fish and chips, if you stay away from the touristy spots :-)

This is a 288 second exposure of the pier at Crescent Beach, in Surrey, BC, in late December 2013.

This is a great pier at Crescent Beach, which is a photographer's paradise, if the weather Gods play nicely.

This image was created on a very cold, windy and rainy day in February with +Gavin Dunbar and Kevin Boyle. I stood under the pier, trying to avoid the full brunt of the elements, whilst Gav and KB were braving the weather.

All in all, a great day day out and I'm really happy with how this image turned out. The conditions really helped to minimize distractions in the composition.

Ambleside Pier 5

View LARGE here: http://www.grantmurrayphotography.com/Landscapes/i-fxq5jTn/A

About time I got around to posting to +Olivier Du Tré's awesome #minimalmonday theme.

This was an image 3 years in the making. Ambleside pier has Stanley Park, UBC, etc. behind it and is a distracting mess in terms of compositions, unless of course there is thick fog. Fortunately, this occurred one Saturday morning in December 2013 and I finally was able to make my vision come to life. Patience really is a virtue and is seriously underutilized in this fast paced world of ours.

Happy Monday everyone.

P.S. Wishing I was with my brother from another mother +Nathan Wirth on his trip through Oregon...have fun, my dear friend.

Hi Folks. Very exciting news. An article titled "The Fine Art of Black & White" was just published in Absolute Photo Magazine. I am featured in the article, along with my buddy +Kris Schofield  and +Dave MacVicar. Absolute Photo Magazine is the number one selling photography magazine on iTunes and is available for iPad only...check it out, it's a great magazine.

Iona Beach Reeds 1 - www.grantmurrayphotography.com

It's nearly the end of 2013 and I finally managed to combine the right conditions and tide levels at Iona Beach to create my most minimal image ever. It was foggy, which completely shrouded the horizon, giving me the perfect opportunity to create an image this simple, with no distractions. I'm so glad I went out and stood in the rain, it was totally worth it.

This is of course for #minimalmonday curated by the amazing Mr. +Olivier Du Tré.

I was in San Francisco for a conference in early May and had the opportunity to spend a wonderful day with my good friends, +Nathan Wirth  and +Steve-Maxx landeros. Lost Lake 3 - www.grantmurrayphotography.com

This image was created on the shore of Lost Lake in Whistler, British Columbia.

It was a glorious Sunday afternoon in September 2012 and the weather Gods really were kind to me that day. It had been 35 degrees Celsius with blue sky for 4 days, which made my then 8 month pregnant wife a very unhappy camper. Thankfully the heat finally broke on the Sunday and the high was 16 degrees Celsius, which made being outside a pleasure.

The blurred shape in the centre of the image is a deck in the lake that people can swim out to and sit/stand/lie on. The water is really cold, but it doesn't seem to stop people...crazy Canucks :-)

Davenport Pier 3 - www.grantmurrayphotography.com

I am working my way through the images I created in California back in August this year. I injured my shoulder, slipping on some rocks when I was there and it is only now coming right...fun times.

There are a small handful of folks in this world that I categorize as kindred spirits and lifelong friends, with boundless amounts of kindness and patience. +Steve-Maxx landeros and +Nathan Wirth are two such incredibly talented individuals. They were such amazing hosts and gave up a loooot of their personal time to hang out with me and drive me all around California. I get to know them better every time I'm out there and our friendship deepens with each visit. Words cannot express my gratitude for your kindness, friendship and artistic inspiration, Steve and Nathan, I feel truly blessed!!

Tron - http://www.grantmurrayphotography.com

This is a 79 second exposure of a very cool building in the financial district in San Francisco. I have no idea what the building is called, or where it is...please help me out on this locals :-)

The building reminded me of a scene from Tron and this composition really jumped out at me. I love the precision of architectural photography and it is a huge passion of mine. The architectural bar has been set so damn high by incredible artists like +Joel Tjintjelaar and +Julia Anna Gospodarou that has forced the rest of us to up our game.

Seal Rock 3 - http://www.grantmurrayphotography.com/

I was in San Fran early January for the +A Slice of Time - SF Bay Photowalk 2013. This image is from a pre-breakfast solo shoot on the Monday morning after the Photowalk. After this session I met up with +Nathan Wirth  , +Athena Carey  , +Alan Allum  and +John Kosmopoulos  for breakfast and spent a wonderful day shooting around Pacifica and beyond with such amazing company.

This image is in the top 3 of my favorite images of the weekend. Seal Rock is such a famous scene and has been photographed a billion times. There is a small handful of photographers that have created some truly spectacular images of these famous rocks, for example +Steve-Maxx landeros  and +Nathan Wirth!! This makes it extra difficult to come up with something unique, but not impossible :-) The conditions really were exceptional that morning, which made allthe ... more »

This is an 85 second exposure of Whytecliff Island, taken at Whytecliff Park, in Vancouver in December 2012. This was the first time in 3 months that I had picked up the camera and it felt soooo good to be out. Being a new parent means that my priorities have changed, but I wouldn't have it any other way :-) Every time I get out to shoot feels like a gift, which is the way it should be!!

I ran my first pro workshop this weekend with +Sharon Tenenbaum and +Marc Koegel. It was so damn awesome and I loved every minute of it (except the killer double migraine and throwing up part yesterday) :-) I so look forward to the next one.

"Lost Lake" - http://www.grantmurrayphotography.com/

This image was created on the shore of Lost Lake in Whistler, British Columbia.

It was a glorious Sunday afternoon in September 2012 and the weather Gods really were kind to me that day. It had been 35 degrees Celsius with blue sky for 4 days, which made my then 8 month pregnant wife a very unhappy camper. Thankfully the heat finally broke on the Sunday and the high was 16 degrees Celsius, which made being outside a pleasure.

The little flower (weed?) on the rock finally played ball and remained still for this exposure. The wind was pretty strong, so I had many aborted attempts before everything fell into place. Long Exposure photography requires a lot of zen like patience and just being out in nature is enough...an image or two you are happy with is the icing on the cake.
