Richi Jennings42,921Sunday Circle Share of Awesome... :: A big HELLO to all the new Plussers I met last week (plus a few I reconnected with). In the main, these folks are engagers, not passive consumers, so do add them if you're looking for interesting conversations here on G+.Also, feel free to share this publicly. Spread the love! For last week's share, see: plus.google.com/u/0/117220625678034723010/posts/SSmyG6BtuMN2013-06-16 13:19:51406241069CC G+
Shells Bells5,180Best of 2012 CircleThis circle is some of the G+ awesomeness that has enriched my life this year - and I am grateful.  A while back +Sean Cowen asked what G+ has meant to us.  After watching Brene Brown's TEDTalks (http://www.ted.com/speakers/brene_brown.html) I realize that for me, G+ has been a lesson in vulnerability and courage. I have been humbled by the courage of every one of you.  I love that women post no make-up pictures and that you all speak your minds (your clever, creative, crazy & beautiful minds...). I have been blown away by the public sharing regarding topics as deep as abuse and depression - talk about vulnerability and putting yourself out there - absolutely amazing.  By doing so, you have helped others in ways you may never know.  <3Inspiration's what you are to me, inspiration, look... see.  Led Zeppelin - Thank YouYou have inspired me. (warning TL:DR personal stuff below) Oh, & I did include some new peeps.  If they're freaks, blame +Ben Zaitz. This month, I gathered some courage and let three people see me in, what was to me, a position of vulnerability. The first was a very dear friend from Elementary School.  For the past few years, I avoided HIRLing because I was ashamed of my weight and I guess I didn't want to disappoint him.  The same reason recently kept me from seeing a dear High School friend.  I saw them and each did not care that I was not perfect, they love me for me.  Mann, it was great to see their faces again, talk in person and have some non-virtual hugs.  <3I attribute this change in thinking to your responses to a July post: https://plus.google.com/115807723984369772514/posts/Ui2TQBPuELKAmong the other awesome words from you peeps, +Alvin Stearns wrote, "Never again compare yourself to others so that you make unfair and useless judgments about yourself or others.  That includes comparing yourself to you in the past."  The third was that, with your encouragement on a private post, I actually asked a guy out.  I would have never even considered doing that a year ago.  (He has a gf, so no deal, but it's all good cause he was cool.)I know these are little things, but I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.  And thank you to +matthew rappaport, Bobbi Jo Woods and +Tiffany Henry for coordinating the first NYCHIRL. Due to my kiddies, I couldn't see +Daria Musk and +Ryan Van Sickle2012-12-31 06:09:4450026231CC G+

Kiat Huang2,349Paleo circleWeek 3 of Paleo (the Whole30 kind) and feeling really good so far.  First week was tough energywise and moods - really truggled to balance the loss of carbs, as well as dealing with none of my favorites like cheese, potatoes, pasta, rice, noodles, bread, biscuits, milk - even missed beans and tofu!Searching out the Paleo community has been fun, including websites, phone apps, real books and now, of course, Google+.  What a great platform for Paleo!Sharing this circle built from all the other paleo circles I could find.  I also added any that came up in the search that were joint-interest with other related food interests like Primal, Ancestral but not non-food like crossfit. If you are interested in creating a circle like this, then search for: paleo "shared a circle with you".Real Food, Real Living!2012-10-07 07:51:39360623CC G+
Todd Dosenberry0There are 632 humans in my "Primal" circle but it's only allowing me to share 500 at one time. The humans in this follow a primal/paleo/ancestral/caveman/wapf type of lifestyle. No set rules. These folks care about their health and understand the truth. One of the main things being that saturated fat has nothing to do with heart disease.2012-07-19 15:00:39500425CC G+

Do NOT Order Business Card from The Ups Store
They had a promotion that caught my attention and made me deviate from my trust in OvernightPrints.com  They were offering 500 business cards for $5.

I've ordered LOTS of business cards through the years and have never received cards with such poor quality.

The printing process appears to have added a black border around the design and then the cards appear to have been manually cut.   The cards vary in dimensions and accuracy of the cut.  Some have evidence of dull blades with incomplete cuts or damaged edges.

My initial sample looked like about 20% would be acceptable - $5 for 100 cards.

But I finished sorting through 1/2 of the cards.  Here's how they came out.  See the attached image - the stack on the right are "usable".  The rest weren't cut properly to remove theframin... more »

Double duty: train entrepreneurs and make me walk off a building!

I'm working to raise support for Junior Achievement in Colorado Springs.  This Fall, Sept 6, 2014 they are holding an event where sponsors raising more than $2,000 will rappel down the side of this building.

https://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/TroyPesola/over-the-edge

Sure I've climbed rock walls, but ... this is different.  Walking off a perfectly good building -- yikes.

But by facing my fear I also realize that it is fear that keeps most small businesses from launching.  People with great ideas, excellent skills, and an unmet need in mind often get crippled by fear and never start.

That's a shame and the world never gets to experience their brilliance.

That doesn't have to be the case.  Junior Achievement helps train entrepreneurs and encouragesfre... more »

Brain fog?
I've been slowly coming out a season of brain fog over the past 9 months.  Trying to get help from my previous doctor was a joke, at best.  Finally found a "functional medicine" doctor who was willing to do more testing.  He found evidence of Hashimoto's Thyroiditis.  Combine that with the other symptoms I was experiencing it was clear that I was struggling with other types of autoimmune disorders.  That meant time to change my diet: gluten-free and avoiding a list of other suspected allergens.

Progress has been slow.   It has affected all of life.  Online content generation nearly ceased.  I had two products to review that got stalled months ago.   Oy!

Dietary changes take time.  But the brain fog is clearing.
