Jake Croston924,152Ultimate Food Stream ReduxThe Ultimate Food Stream cleared of inactive posters, and dead accounts, and a few more added in their place. Enjoy!  Here is a circle of all things food. It contains 342 (and growing) Chefs, Food Bloggers, Amateur Cooks, Nutritionists, Wine Experts, Recipe Developers, Food Scientists, Companies.... you get the idea. As I was watching the stream from this circle it is running about 85% Food and Drink Posts You won't ever have a reason not to cook something while looking at this circle. Am I alone in creating this? Of course not!  This circle is like a great recipe:The master circle curator +Chris Robinson gave me a great start, and a base to go off of. Then +Amanda Blain had her awesome food and bacon circles to put a bit more flavor in, these are the main entrees of the circle, the heavy hitters, the big pages, the well-known foodies recommended by many. Then there are some smaller ingredients, the seasoning to the circle, the nuances. I got a lot of help from the #top5  circles yesterday, brought about by +Natalie Villalobos, and participated by many. Also all those folks that helped, by mentioning their favorite foodies in my last two posts about this circle. Then I scoured the circles of those people, literally skimming through thousands of profiles to find those profiles and pages with less than 300, 200, and even 100 people that have them circled, but they still post every day relentlessly. I think they deserve some recognition for such hard work and dedication to what they love, and reach a wider audience. Now, with this many folks, it is hard to make sure they are all 100% active, but I checked and most if not all have at least 4 or 5 posts at minimum from the last month, and many have much much more than that; posting several times a day. So a huge thank you to everyone that contributed, helped, made suggestions, and of course, made the stream look like a banquet feast. Also: If you feel like you need to be in this circle, Let me know!!  I will check out your profile and if you post like these folks, you're in. Another Thing: Don't feel hurt if you're not in this circle. If you want in, you'll have to do these 2 things:Post more oftenPost more about food.  That is the criteria for the circle. I'm looking for at least 60% Food posts, and post twice a week at the least.  Okay, anyways, I'll stop talking and just let the food wash over you like a stream of deliciousness. 2012-09-05 14:43:55342221134CC G+

It's #ThrowbackThursday  on the blog and today "Taste This!" contributor +Ashley Kappel is revisiting the classic Icebox Dinner Roll.

Icebox Dinner Rolls are a great grandchild of French bread recipes back when French bread was made into rolls as well as loaves. We can only assume that this recipe has stayed so popular because it requires little to no kneading. This recipe calls for only one minute of kneading, which is hardly enough time to get your aggression out or have an excuse to watch the latest Housewives foibles.

It's #WorldFlavorWednesday  on the blog, and this week we're packing our culinary bags for India!

Indian cuisine is heavily based on spices, which lend unique colors and flavors to each dish. Cumin, cardamom, chili, turmeric, coriander, fenugreek, cinnamon, saffron, ginger and cloves are just a few of the many spices frequently found in Indian favorites. Spices are also an integral part of India’s history, as many were first discovered on its sun-warmed soil. The spice trade between India and Europe is often identified as the spark that began Europe’s Age of Discovery. Consequently, Indian influences can be found in other world cuisines, including those from Southeast Asia, the British Isles and the Caribbean.

It's #FlavorFriday  over on the blog! This week "Taste This!" contributor +Erin McFarland shares her newfound love for plantains.

I recently returned from a trip to Nicaragua—a blissful week of playing in the ocean, gawking at volcanoes, and overloading on fresh fish and Nicaraguan beer. I’m currently in the “I can’t believe I’ve been back for an entire week!” stage of post-vacation depression, and with nothing left from my trip but some unfortunate tan lines, have been looking for little reminders at home.

However, if you were really anything like me, you also begged that loving parent to pleasepleasePLEASE order pizza, pick up Lunchables at the store, and stop for a ice cream cone from McDonalds. Mom, I’m sorry.

It's #ThrowbackThursday  on the blog! This week "Taste This!" contributor +Ashley Kappel is going bananas for monkey bread. Read more here: http://youvegottotastethis.myrecipes.com/2014/04/03/monkey-bread/

Why is it called monkey bread? Lore would lead you to believe that the preparation–piling dough balls together–makes the treat look like a barrel of monkeys. I’d rather go with the notion that your guests will stand around it and pick it until the platter is completely clean.

Attention: This cake is topped and filled with Lemon-Orange Buttercream Frosting. Sure, the cake is delicious, but that frosting would be delicious on a carrot stick. We recommend both methods of indulgence.

These decadent Enchiladas Suizas are named "Swiss" because of all the cream and cheese they contain. The recipe is  generally credited to a Mexico City coffee shop called Sanborns. This version is from Silvana Salcido Esparza, chef-owner of Barrio Café and Barrio Queen in Tucson.

This to-die-for edible dice recipe harks from 1985, making it just two years younger than I am. I think what amazes me most is that it’s so simple and yet there was no Pinterest in 1985 to share such simple genius. This is basically a petit four recipe iced to look like a plateful of hot dice. The dots on the dice? Inverted chocolate chips. Boom. What did I tell you? Simple.

You're never too old, or too full, to enjoy a pink-hued cake for dessert. The hint of orange in the cream cheese frosting puts this cake over and above the competition on the dessert table.
