The latest OpenWrt release doesn't support WRT54GL routers. I wonder what the reference platform is now? In any case, I'm now looking out for a replacement firmware that isn't a dead end.
I looked at Tomato but it's too limited (not even an NTP daemon) as well as being a blatant GPL violation.
Any recommendations?

What a sad story. Kentucky girl killed. seven years later a townswoman who wouldn't drop it, found the murder. Town hates her for it.

Today, instead of learning or doing anything useful, I'm burning through all 8.5 hours of Game of Thrones season 2. And I'm still giggling that the boring lord in episode 1 was named Leadránach (an Irish word meaning "long, slow and boring").

Ohio puts "Birthplace of Aviation" on the vehicle license plates, because the Wright brothers lived and worked there.
North Carolina puts "First in Flight" on its vehicle license plates, because the Wright brothers' airplane was launched there.
France puts "F" on its vehicle license plates, because more boastworthy things were invented there than can fit on a license plate.

“working 90 hours a week and loving it!” (an actual T-shirt worn with pride by the original Macintosh team. (Productivity experts estimate that we’d have probably had the Mac a year sooner if they’d worked half as many hours per week instead.)
Even if these productivity experts are only half right, imagine how much further ahead in technology/science we could be, if only we knew how to manage our own productivity better.

Earth's Major Telescopes Investigate GRB 130427A
Illustration Credit: +NASA, DOE, Fermi LAT Collaboration
http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap130508.html
A tremendous explosion has occurred in the nearby universe and major telescopes across Earth and space are investigating. Dubbed GRB 130427A, the gamma-ray burst was first noted by the Earth-orbiting Swift satellite in high energy X-rays and quickly reported down to Earth. Within three minutes, the half-meter ISON telescope in New Mexico found the blast in visible light, noted its extreme brightness, and relayed more exact coordinates. Within the next few minutes, the bright optical counterpart was being tracked by several quickly re-pointable telescopes including the 2.0-meter P60 telescope in California, the 1.3-meter PAIRITEL telescope in Arizona, and the 2.0-meter Faulkes Telescope North in Hawaii. Within two hours, the... more »

Today I shall use my official souvenir replica Alcatraz soap for my post-workout shower. I will report results.
Edited to add: Inside the package, the soap looks like a big slab of fudge. It starts producing lather after you rub it for 30 seconds, which is a long time by modern standards. The lather cleans adequately but I smell a little like boot polish now. At least I didn't drop it.

My university degree is "Bachelor of Arts (Moderatorship)", or B.A. (Mod.) for short. It's a source of frustration to me that I still cannot find anywhere on the Internet an explanation of what a Moderatorship is.
As I understand it, Moderator was one of the ancient academic ranks (below Magister and Doctor). Being a Moderator meant that you had the right to ask questions at some kind of university council. Being a Doctor meant you could answer them. I don't recall what the Magisters' role was.
The University of Dublin hands out Moderatorship to those admitted to the degree of Bachelor with honours, as a symbol of the heritage of the 421-year-old institution.
That was explained to me once just before my own Commencement (graduation). I wish I could find a tangible reference for this information. I could go and search in the college library, I suppose.

Iron Man 3 in IMAX. I have my head lowered and my fingers in my ears because trailers for IMAX are made by two-year-olds who are angry that their drum kits were taken away.
Still, one of the trailers had GLaDOS's voice in it. I'm curious about whatever movie that is.

Pirating a game on game development causes increased piracy of your games, in the game.
Quite the irony :)

I can't stop laughing.
U.K. Police are under investigation for jokingly filling in a witness statement in the name of a force dog. Officers got annoyed when prosecutors tenaciously asked for a crime report from officer Peach, not realizing Peach was a police dog.
So they completed the form as if it had been written by Peach and signed it with a paw print.
Good Boy Peach.

" Nagasaki, port city in southwestern Japan and site of an August 1945 bombing operation that successfully killed 73 rapists, three men in the process of robbing a bank, 645 wife beaters, roughly 800 children who would have grown up to be terrible people, 115 hardened prisoners set to be executed anyway, a dog that was in great pain and needed to be put down, and at least one person who at some future point would contemplate a possible sneak attack on the United States."
