Hangouts, phone calls and Google Voice

Thanks for all of your feedback on last week's Hangouts launch. I wanted to quickly talk about 1) making/receiving phone calls in Gmail, and 2) Google Voice support more generally.

1) Today's version of Hangouts doesn't yet support outbound calls on the web and in the Chrome extension, but we do support inbound calls to your Google Voice number. We're working hard on supporting both, and outbound/inbound calls will soon be available. In the meantime, you can continue using Google Talk in Gmail.

2) Hangouts is designed to be the future of Google Voice, and making/receiving phone calls is just the beginning. Future versions of Hangouts will integrate Google Voice more seamlessly.

This was probably one of the best sunset I have photographed on the Salt Flats. The sky was lit up in all directions and there was couple of inches of water on salt flats which are typically dry and desolate. Best viewed at a large size to see the details in the reflection and salt patterns.

How was this photo taken?
If you notice the tiny salt formation stand out dramatically in the foreground due to the fact that the camera was place rather low on the ground. It was only about 1 - 1.5 feet above the ground level. Exposure between the sky and ground was controlled using a soft 0.6 ND filters. Even with a GND filter areas of the sky to the left were over exposed and needed manual blending using our (iHDR workflow) to bring out the details in the high lights.

Huh.

Last time I checked, TeamViewer QuickSupport only worked on Samsung devices by virtue of the fact it's signed with Samsung's private signature. It seems that some time in the past few months it's received an update which allows it to work on other devices too provided root access is available.

Net effect: it works on my HTC One! Nice!

As I say in my profile, always add me to all of your public circles, please.
Circles aren't meant for information tagging, but instead to keep some info private (like family photos, work related discussion with coworkers, etc) . It makes very little sense for what is publicly discussion... Humpf.
If you really need to keep stuff out of a big part of your stream either use a GPage+ if you are a broadcaster., or a Community for multi member discussion
