Took my time with it and resisted the urge to get it done the same night the image was shot. VERY DIFFICULT for me to do. BUT need to learn that its quality not speed that wins the day....... :)

The China Snake Story

So there was this snake that wanted to rock my face off...and here is the full story:

I had climbed up and down the spires of Zhangjiajie twice, which is twice more than my legs wanted to go.

I foolishly went up one of the spires at sunset trying to get a photo. I got to the top, and there was no good sunset. It was still awesome and everything — just no sunset photo. And getting up is not easy. There are little stairs caved into the sides of the mountain that spiral up and through inlaid cave systems. There is occasional ducking and a lot of worry about slippery bits.

So the time had come to descend. It was dark. Bear-den dark. I had a little light on my camera strap (not really a full-on flashlight like I should have had). I kept it on as I walked back. It was about a four kilometer back through these spires alone. I never sawa... more »

Today i'm going to do what I have put off for so long...... It's time to buy a flashgun....... Need it for shooting weddings and for more creatively lit images. Anyone have any experience with a Nikon SB-700 speedlight? How does it rate in your opinions as a flashgun?

This is todays (13/7/11) effort for my 365 project (more images can be found at www.flickr.com/jameswarwood). I'm normally a HDR guy, but have been really trying to improve my photoshop knowledge and skill lately. Its coming along slowly but surely. I hate doing self portraits but i'm fairly happy with this. :)
