CBS Sports fires the blogger behind a major error: He reported Joe Paterno died based on a single tweet that was only linked, not sourced. (He wasn't dead at the time, though he died about 12 hours later.)

This week, you might've heard about the death of Ben Breedlove, a YouTube personality with a heart condition who nearly died three times before — twice in 2011. What was even more captivating about Breedlove's death is the way he openly discussed it in two videos he made a week before his death (http://j.mp/vzaPRS) — using note cards, but remaining silent.
He openly credited another teenager named Kieran Miles for the idea. His video, in case you haven't seen it, is a tear-jerker, too. But in much the same way as Breedlove's, it's extremely uplifting. Worth a watch.

Yesterday, Glenn Greenwald (among others) loudly scorned Time Magazine for playing a soft story on its U.S. edition, while giving the growing protests in Egypt big play on the international editions of the magazine. But is that really a fair criticism — to look at a single issue and made the judgment that Time whitewashes its U.S. editions? Check out my analysis here.
