2 facts about my painting set ups
1. I always use kitchen towel to protect everything as, not only can i just remove the dirty parts when finished but, I also wipe my brushes on it whilst working.
2. I have no palette. I mix all my paints on the canvas as I am painting. That goes for the small and humungous canvasses :)

You have probably heard the pseudo-scientific claim that it is absolutely physically impossible for you to fold a piece of paper in half after you have done so seven times. According to this claim, it doesn’t matter how big the piece of paper is, if you try to fold it the 8th time you will fail. What is the scientific reality behind this claim and does it really hold true when you try it on a very large piece of paper?

Beyond the classroom, art education helps your child to develop a better understanding of general everyday life skills. Art helps the child to solve problems and make decisions, build self-discipline and self-confidence, develop the ability to predict what might happen in the future and take on the responsibility of completing tasks from start to finish.

Today, having a garden is possible no matter where you live, and including growing things that need some level of care in your daily routine and in your home environment is beneficial in any number of ways. Not only pleasant to look at, plants are good for the air inside your home as well as the atmosphere outside. Gardeners insist that caring for plants is a “tonic” for the mind and soul as well.

Each week thousands of hopeful people take part in the lottery, keeping their fingers crossed that they might be one of the very few people to scoop a major windfall. Whilst the chances of winning a fortune on the lottery are very slim, the fact is, plenty of people have done. And, here’s a peek at just what they have spent their millions on.

I am in a quandary. My dream painting I am in the middle of....it is hard to get it like my dream so, should I keep trying or should I compromise.... Is it right, or is it lazy, to compromise just because something is a bit (actually a lot) harder than you thought it would be when you started something?

The canvas is now sideways on the easel with a full base coat on. This has been the most difficult panting ever and I have not really done anything to it yet. One dream and about 3 weeks of pencil work and still no real work in sight. However it is now drying and then I can get out the oils.

When you’re about to get engaged in woodworking projects at home, the worst thing would be to select the wrong wood to work with. Just because you have the awesome power tools and hand tools for working with wood doesn’t mean that you can just throw together any wood at the cheapest prices that you can find. You don’t want to work hard just to put together something like furniture or cabinetry that soon falls apart on you. You want to know exactly what wood you should be looking for before you begin sawing, planing, sanding, and hammering.

Details, details, details. Epaulets, pearls, rhinestones, and sequins were highly used during this time period to add glitz to an evening outfit........................

After you’ve played fashion detective, go through your closet and don’t be afraid to kill your darlings. Throw out that sweater you haven’t worn in years! Keep that jean jacket that you never thought would be back in style! Throw out shoes that you’d never see Sienna MIller or Heidi Klum wear! Be honest with your sense of style and don’t be afraid to get rid of anything! Make notes on what you’re missing. Do you need a red top to match a plaid skirt or a black stiletto to compliment an evening gown? Pile your clothes in a bag, most resale stores don’t require hangers, and get ready to trade it all in!.............

New movies appear at the cinema for all too brief a time, before they disappear forever. It’s hard for even the most dedicated of cinema attendees to catch everything, and we have all missed the odd opportunity to see something at first release. Some types of film translate pretty well onto a smaller screen, so waiting a few months...

A vehicle is one of the biggest purchases a person will buy in their lifetime, and because of the expense of an automobile, a person should take the best care they can of their vehicle. For many, a vehicle is more than something to just get around in, their vehicles may be a hobby, or may represent the auto owner. What Kinds of...

Tired of the dreary gray walls of your cubicle? Want to spice up your work environment but don’t know where to start? Never fear — you’re not doomed to live out your days in monochromatic gray boredom (unless, of course, you’re the one-in-a-million who finds such an environment motivating). Cubicles don’t have to be...
