If you are looking for a good book to read, try "The Go-Giver" by Bob Burg. I was introduced to this book by +Kevin Dean  and it is a top 5 business book IMHO.

The book may be written as a fictional tale, but it hits home and will make you rethink your approach to doing business and, more importantly, doing relationships.

According to Diversity Direct, 4 in 10 companies have no women in senior management.  

I'm proud of our company for leading in this area.  +Modoc Research Services  is 100% Women Owned and has women in most senior management roles, including CEO and VP of Operations!

Congratulations to Spirit Airlines!  Their prices are cheap, but...

They stranded my 10 yr old in Detroit. Not for hours mind you, but for DAYS!

They have outsourced their call center to India and the guy on the other end of the phone was more concerned about bad press causing them to lose their call center contract than he was with my child's safety. 

Thankfully, my child is safe.  But they provided the WORST customer service, especially under the circumstances.

Going forward, we will be flying +Delta Airlines! It may be a couple of bucks more, but at least I know my children will be safe and that they will care for them.  And, when things happen (because things happen), +Delta has always done the right thing.

Are you a person that feels that the rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer?!  That big companies are bad?!

Here is a quick way to make a difference:

SHOP LOCAL!

Put your hard earned money in the hands of the small guys who work hard, too.  *Start shopping for your needs at the small stores, the mom & pop stores.*  Support local merchants and you will help to change the very thing that irks you.

Stop being "convenient" in your purchases and financial decisions. You will pay a little bit more and you may not have as many options.  

But, you will effectively be putting your money where your mouth is.

Please stop complaining about rich people or about big companies. They are only big and rich because consumers have made the choice to make them that way.

It is pretty amazing to realize that this little experiment called the United States of America will be 236 years old on Wednesday! While we are not a perfect country and still have things to work on, the principles of freedom, liberty, and opportunity still ring true!

I'm proud to be an American, part of the most diverse and complicated culture that there is! We are truly blessed!

I am not a believer in government handouts or "unnecessary spending." However, after reading this article, there should definitely be a program in place/grants available, etc. for situations where a child under 18 is left to be the primary caregiver to a parent. In particular, it definitely should not be at the expense of their personal development.

This paragraph moved me and I agree: "No child in the United States should have to drop out of school because of caregiving," said Siskowski, 65. "These children suffer silently behind closed doors. ... They don't have the help and the support and the recognition that they need."

Thoughts?! Agree? Disagree?
