So...a lot of people seem to want pictures taken at their 1 year old's birthday party.
I shot 1 last weekend and 1 this weekend.
I don't understand it, but I'll take the money.
Here's a shot from the party of one of the older kids in the bounce house. I used it for Day 239 of my 365 Day Project.
Pentax K-5
Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8
28mm @ f/3.2
1/160th
ISO 80
I was holding a 24"x24" Softbox with a YN560 in it over my head with 1 hand and the camera with the other.

Theme - May Flowers
Shot with my Cell Phone
This is a close up of the Roses my Father bought for my Step Mother for her Birthday. Her name is Mayme, her birthday is in May and these are flowers. I guess that counts for something =P
Was taken as day 238 of my 365 Day Project

Day 222 - Lady Killer
A candid from my shoot with a Ballet Folklorico group.
I had to do a group shot with all the dances as well as individual shots. After that was done I was bored and didn't feel like going home yet so I shot an extra hour for free. Just shooting them practicing and whatnot.

Self Portrait
Composite
Don't remember my settings atm. This was done last June. I've lost 20+ pounds since this shot was taken. Was taken with my old Pentax K-x and an 18-55mm Kit Lens. I do believe I was using a Joel Grimes type of Split Lighting since I was basing this composite off his work. Catch-lights verify the presence of 2 lights minimum.
I found the image I used for the background here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/photographybysheldon/4683243997/

Today's image for my 365 Day Project was given to me by nature itself. I was out walking in my usual park and I noticed this little beauty resting just inside the treeline. Nature has a way of leaving it's mark in all sorts of ways.

Day 207 - Mike's Bike
I can't wait for the weather up here in Michigan to suck less.
I'm still trying to find me a Sugar Mama down around Phoenix as well!
(Just sayin'!)

Re-Edit of an old image I shot in July 2012. I've come a long way since then. I'm glad I suck less at editing now.

Today's 365 image wasn't that interesting. It's on the blog and my facebook as well though.
I think I did a pretty good job on the yard. It rained today so it cleaned off some of the dirt for me and packed it in nicely.

For those following my 365 Day Project.
I recently started including Blogs along with the images in order to force myself to use my website more often. I was always very lazy about updating it and this has helped me maintain i better.
If your website/blog is a bit neglected like mine was you might consider something like this as well.

I was told I should submit this for the "What Makes You Laugh" theme so I am. Even though it actually makes me sad knowing my little buddy is in pain. Perhaps the image itself will make others laugh though.
As you can see, he's not too thrilled about getting neutered today.

Had a quick shoot with Renee yesterday. Spent the whole night editing.
Here's 4 of the 21 shots I posted to my Facebook Page
The Black & White is mixed lighting and the other 3 are Natural Light.
The speedlight for the B&W was up in a tree, it was bare with no modifiers.
Renee is the mother of the little girl I posted pictures of the other day.

I shot a lady and her kids today.
This is Savannah she's 5 and she recently lost her first tooth!
I like shooting Spontaneous Portraits instead of Staged or Posed Portraits. The main reason is that very few people can fake a believable smile. So I'd rather just photograph them being natural. That's one of the best things about shooting kids. They haven't learned how to be fake like adults yet. All you get is their natural charm and cuteness. Nothing beats a real smile or a real reaction.
Many times when shooting children parents can be really annoying. They always try to force their children to smile and be perfect. This just ruins the mood of the whole shoot for me. I prefer for parents of my small subjects to be there as observers only and otherwise remain silent. This allows me to connect with the kids to bring their character out into the open to be... more »

People were sharing Eyeball pics and I felt left out. So here's mine!
You know it's incredibly hard to photograph your own eye with a 50mm reversed on extension tubes with no auto focus and no way to see what you are shooting until after you are done.
Pentax K-5
ISO: 800
Shutter: 1/50
50mm Reversed + 30mm/16mm/9mm Extension Tubes
Aperture on Lens: f/8
Aperture Combined with Tubes: No Clue
Lighting: Neewer LED Ringlight
Minimum Focusing Distance with this setup is 2" from rear element of lens(front of setup).

Oh Hai Thar!
Hobbyist Photographer from the Detroit Area here. I shoot a little bit of everything. Animals, Plants, People, Macro, Product and anything else I can find to shoot. I like to dabble in just about everything. Learning is fun so I'm always trying new things.
Below is a shot I did as part of my ongoing 365 Day Project.
(Yes, I know it's tilted slightly to the right!)
This shot was lit with 2 YN560 Speedlites in 24x24 fotodiox sofboxes. They were placed directly to the left and to the right of the bottle approximately 8 inches away. I believe both were at 1/16th power. There was a silver reflector on top of the boxes creating a Bridge which reflected light back downwards onto the bottle.
The background was a Black Sheet and the reflective surface is a glass door taken from an entertainment center. The sheet is covering the wood part in the... more »

I would listen to this station 24/7 if my internet wasn't so crappy.
Such wonderful, beautiful music.
If you like Classical and/or Piano Music give it a listen.
