I'm Not Dead Yet

I need a little more reckless ambitions
Running out of second chances
No gunshot stars, no wishes
And the bullets never seemed tasteful till now
Like pills swallowed with my pride
But here now, choking on my lies
Screaming I'm not dead
I just haven't lived yet!

Tie the ropes a little tighter
I can still feel my pulse
Can you burn a little bit brighter?
I can still see your flaws
Weld me to your heartbeat
Set our pace to a suicide race
Aim at the dreamer in me
and
FIRE FIRE

Dash abstract blood splat
Back stab like a diplomat
It's for the numbers
Am I right?
We're all for the numbers
And I've never felt the number
Tie those ropes a little tighter
Weld me to your heartbeat
Set our pace to a suicide race... more »

There's a beauty in these one hit wonders
One trick pony
My little idiosychrocy
All stupidity in sync
Plusing to a brain drinking
Into her heart or pants
Kissing memes for relevance
As much love as Harlem shake a dance

Pull out all the stops
Pull out your big guns
Pull it all in one song
Concentrated madness
To clean sanity's darkness
Maniac's like candle wicks
Ready to burst in flames
Phoenix fire and artist bloodbanks
Drain yourself, replace your veins
With peace ink and war paint
Be the bad poem choking this room
Like halos slip to a noose
Cough a lung and spurt true love
Give it all you one trick ponies
My little idiosynchrocies

Passing the time between headphones
Between paychecks and love sounds
Decomposing in a silent resentment
Decompressing lungs with a thimble of air
Disconnecting hairs in trembles of worrisome
Oh how I use to crave adulthood
Through the lens of adolescence
How bright it seemed to burn then!

Like a flame I give way to the wind
With hopes of brighter growing dull
I couldn't blacken a knife
Let alone forge a sword
Barely melting the ice
Liquid drips
I grow darker

I suppose I'm writing in a more confessional form?
I dunno, just playing around for now.
Dipping my toe in before I attempt a dive.

I'm shedding my color
Losing my flavor
Screaming out my lungs
"I don't want to fall in love"
But here I am again
A midnight confessional
On knees with busted shins
My heart bursts awaiting a fall
Into your arms, exploding charm
With a grin and a smirk I will say
"Everything will be okay"
Thought and Fuck in a crossfade
To my young heartbeat it feels the same shame
To my disastrous distasteful dismay
It all feels the same

-----
Haven't written much in awhile +1 for disastrous distasteful dismay alliteration.
Atleast I still remember the rules and how to break them :)

I feel my soul slip into these streets
Every place I dropped a heartbeat
Left in their lost and found memory
And it starts to seem, sing, sting
This place I ran in pitter patters from
Is the only place I have a home

Couldn't they just move our Google sign-in connections to the new Google+ sign-in?
Google has worked hard to bring their services together, we really don't need new fragmentation :/

A New Praise Chorus
Drift through these skyline eyes
I came to feed, came to dine
To love my, hate my, bleed my sighs
Echo my syllabic stut-tut-ter
Weld my words together
Create standing testimony
A skyscraper tapestry
And when they stare up there
They'll say "Parts of me reside here"
And when they stare down
An astronaut to the ground
They'll scream "We are the Sun!
Revolution around us!"

------
My only recent poem.
It's just about moving to a city recently and wanting the change.
I was listening to Jimmy Eat World's song "A Praise Chorus" at the time and it just fit the mood I was in well enough that I titled the poem after it :)

Let's make this next year awesome.
I haven't written much decent stuff but I feel I've gotten better.
This next year will be alot about placement of words in my poetry.
Learning how to look good.

I've moved into my own place (away from my grandparents) into a city (Denton, Texas so a weird one at that) with my girlfriend...

This year will be interesting :p

Also, +Patrick Ray I would totally take you up on a cuppa (cup of coffee) if I'm ever in your area.
Two sweet-and-low thank you :P

Clouds absorb the sky in greys and whites
A fluff of shield with intentions of destroying the sunshine
And there is no beauty in our darkest nights
Only vague shadow people built by streetlights

When trees shed leaves we shall pull back skin
In layers until we reach bone and flesh
A softer sin may be found within
Under light and below darkness

Once we become rot the clouds will part
What we have thought will become meaningless
With burning rays of condolences
Once we will finally be judged by the dreams we had
And our tiny, silent accomplishments

My Text Speaks To Follow
I am a constant shift
Uttering words unspoken
My cells are grains of sand
Dreaming of seashells

I find my body is composed of text
I find my dreams mean less than this
I find my hopes in the recess of your chest
It's this constant searching that gets me by
To find 42 different meanings to a single life

I am a constant change
Inconsistently insistent to turn the page
Where I find the ink bleeds through
A single word that I can't ignore
Three simple letters burning a hole
To the answer I never wanted to know
Always in reply, always you

I never got around to introducing myself.
Mostly because I suck at it.
Compared to alot of people I've met on G+ I'm young (20) and quite ignorant.
I dislike reading unless the writing seems intensely unique.

I categorize everything into tidy little boxes and prefer simple and straight forward to complex and confusing.
I curse alot, but avoid it in my poetry unless I feel the mood calls for it.

I tend to write in a slightly more "grotesque" fashion.
But less to shock and more because it's easier and much more fun to relate unrelated this to organics.
Also, biology is my favorite subject and the one (schoolwise) I'm best in.
So it comes naturally to me

I like to think of myself as conscience to my generation (which is only now coming into it's own) and strive to write in a way that is representative of... more »

Glory Come And Sing
Glory come and sing
Nothing, something, everything
Give voice to your weight
Bend our brittle frames

Listen to the tap tap crack
Skeletons like broken backs
Glory come and sing
Sing to our splintered beat

Symphony our murmured hearts
Falling into peace and a part
Craving you like love a spark
Ignite in us an orchestra

Come pluck our dripping veins
Build us to your subtle threads
Turn us to instruments
Let our organs bellow!

Bend our brittle frames
Sing to our splintered beat
Ignite in us an orchestra
Let our organs bellow!

With A Vague Past We Build A Future
And I scream the misery of a generation
In an era of reclamations
We had no family 50's
We had no hippie 60's
And no 70's singing
We had no 80's glam
And no 90's subculture
We are our own

With a knee bent
Craving our chance to stand
Dynamite veins and C4 words
15 minute fame in each keyboard
We know we're watched
We soak ourselves in that
Hell I'd say we get wet off it
We are our own

And in this constant surveillance
We'll carve a subtle stance
One that defines a generation
A power to take our elders
Turn them headfirst
And create ourselves

Free My People
I take my cut up tongue and scream bloody murder
As a voice with pen in ear and Drāno throats
Vocal chords, I beg you, work
Cut this Dead Sea silence
Free my people

Staring at the peak of another relapse
Are we ready to take that dive?
With the issues we've abused to become
The sum of all fears and I'm so afraid
Where we stand there's quicksand
Sink in with cryptic, righteous die youngs

I preach with muddy words and dirt discord
With our lowly religion of sex and violence
My sermon fits in sync with their screams
Like a dubstep warrior cry cutting this silent night
There is no peace among these rebel yells
With a step like thunder this heaven likens hell
I do declare we are be-coming

We take our cut up tounges and scream bloody murder

Robotic Organia
We are the abandoned
Toil, trouble, with broken hands and
With paper and balsa frames we grow lanterns
And with a spark we let our memories float pass sternums
To the synapses and the blood engines and they are just machines sick with a poor mechanic's disease
Oh, my, good lord grace, they've broken down and their soul's been misplaced

Is there a heart in there?
We have the autopsy
Yet we have no recollection
Was there a heart in there?
We perform an autopsy
On flesh frames
And mush brains
Good lord grace was their heart misplaced?

Selling Out Naked In The Back Of A Used Car
Feed me dreams and things
Another bit, another piece
I'd like a taste of your place
To stand tall above them all

There was a time we made noise like light
Filling every crevice of this silent night
Like thieves we stole the dark
But as artists we made it ours

And we saw what we were
Thieves to our ancestors
But artists to our future
How high horse tall we are
How cheap as dirt we became

This is probably my favorite set of Tasker profiles I have ever made.
All it does is automatically change the WiFi depending on where I am in the house (we have a separate WiFi for the patio), but I finally got it to work beautifully after maybe an hour of fine tuning.
I absolutely hated having to always manually set my WiFi depending on which of our two signals were strong.
Now I don't :D

The Goldilocks Of Too Hot Too Cold
Meet me up there
Somewhere upstairs
Inside an equinox
A Goldilocks
Just right, balance

Proportions and fractions and
I'll never understand your quantitations
The equation behind your heart and soul
I exist in a fifty-fifty twilight
Balance, just right

And when your heart breaks
Recite slight citations
Leave my annotations
As a guide to your 1+1equals 1
Two lonely hearts will always become

The way of this dub step technicality
The wub wub of our blood pumps
Like the acidity of a caffeine heartbeat
And another night stuck in this reality
I'll build a flame, burn the night away

Find a balance between my impending death
And the realization that I am a second chance
As you and I become minute hands
Ticking away another... more »

Dr. Kentwood turned on the machine with an excited gasp that I could barely hear over the head splitting beep and whirl of the monitors absorbing my data. "This looks promising!" is what I think he said. But his voice was quickly overshadowed by my sudden realization that he knew almost as little about the supposed science, if it could even be called that, of what he was doing as I did.
But, I'm sure whatever pseudoscientific endeavor he was attempting was beginning to, at the very least, do something. That's what my ricocheting headache and sudden dizziness were saying through a bouncy, lightheadedness in my mind.
I felt myself jump from wall to wall in a hectic catastrophe of jumbled reality. There was a flash of some other world that my brain told me was my own. However, it was very unlike the large room Dr. Kentwood and I had been in. I only caught a split... more »

These walls clash of memories
Softly spoken in collapsing
Rhythms and breaths
With broken petals in each word
Like a heart throbbing syllabic stutter
Horrendous genius lovers
What have you created?
With emulations of life
Thunder, lightning, life!
Will haunt this clashing room
In shadows, preying temptress
Some memory guiding me to a tomb
Laid out as some bloody, ripped birth
Where my soul arose clawing, ravaging, wanting
And Satan himself did declare in reds and yellow
"Alas, I can not bear to watch!"

With Wrists Pouring
You came like a danger to myself and others
With wrists pouring "Take my heartbeat
All of me, every bit and piece"

You choked your breath and said
"You are my oxygen
Hold me tight, my teen crush lungs"

Like a knife requiems a life
And a scythe sings a killing tune
My arms became your tomb

With a kiss delicate as a shadow
We birthed a noose of rainbows
Wrapped like madness around your neck

I grasped the rasp of your gasp
In a sadomasochistic cuddle
With wrists pouring desire
Together, bound in razorwire

Will You Spread Wings With Me
With my heart on the back burner
And my regrets in the oven
I suppose, suppose I need a stir
I please, please before I burn

I feel bits and pieces of me bubbling up
I stew in my anger
But with time I'll grow tender
Can you let a kiss-spark consume us?

You make me, 451 degrees
And then the words I wrote
in love and hate, misery rage
Combust to Phoenix fire
Will you spread wings with me?

This is probably my new favorite poem of mine...
I want to work on it more though.
But, I thought I'd share what I wrote so far

Leave Her Singing
Breathe out your soul
Take gasping breaths
Let heart take hold
Sink in her depths
Find a love that proves space and time
Will forever be a constant

Search for swallow seas
And find the cave you didn't see
Explore, learn, there's so much more
Become lost in rainbow fish
You will not be taken by the current's flow
If you could you would have died long ago

Help me to put her underwater
Drown an old love for a new one
Don't stop unless the bubbles do
Fill her lungs with our love
Fuel her hate like our pain
Leave her singing
"Never again will I kiss this ocean"

Represent A Human
The more I see
Modern poetry
The more I want it dead and gone
I suppose I sing the the wrong song
I suppose I can't read idiosyncrasies
Like colors and lovers and time lost
Would you please action a verb?
Or describe a surmise unheard
I am sick of adjectives
So sick I can't stick
So please don't call me a poet
I will not lie like your kind
No, I will breath my life
The only thing worth the value of time

***
I feel poetry should strive to represent the human condition.
A song that everyone on earth can relate to.
The purest sense of a singular person.
That it shouldnt be loaded down with clever phrases and descriptions.
That it should be a constant forward
Building off our ancestors.

I believe a poem should be a part of the poet being thrown at... more »

The Defining Point
Learn to define sun
As iron defines rust
As a flakeless beacon
A fair testament

Learn your sword
Those singing words
Let them smithy
Let them burn

Grasp an hourglass like a shattered past
And show time is not unilateral
As space became catastrophe
When universe split it broke
And through the cracks came rainbows

Would You Like To Fall In Love With Me Tonight?
It's not enough to get drunk
Just enough to fall in love
With a night counted in shots
And cans and cigarettes

With the death of a childhood
We bring a new era
Of falling fast and landing hard
With the death of an innocence
We bring a new era
Of burning out and shooting stars
With the death of chasity
We bring a new era
Of lost loves and broken hearts
With the death of an ignorance
We bring a new era
Of licking wounds and counting scars

It's not enough to get drunk
Just enough to fall in love
With a night counted in shots
And cans and cigarettes
Would you like to fall in love with me tonight?

Queen Of Butterflies
These veins collapse into twigs and stems
A nervous system tick trunk uproots
This rainy weather catches a hurricane
Led by a Queen of Butterflies
Goddess of Storm and Hindsight

These are the echos of youth
The insight, the truth
The old lies, the sooth
I am a mirror shattered
Across the floor awaiting the feet of loved ones
I see no difference in reference to a hug or kiss

I learned about love from animals, fuck and run
It's all genetics and I'd prefer the best I can get
My life isn't about me but instead unborn children
To protect a legacy of messing up and falling in love

And there she is, Queen of Butterflies
The Grand Goddess of Storm and Hindsight
Coming with the seeds of hurricanes
Helping me to plant my worst mistakes
