Taken in Nepal, the last day of my trip on the 24th of November 2012.
It doesn't look very Nepali, I agree ... but I saw it in a splendid public garden. 
I was touched by it's fragility. This lovely blossom was connected to the tree with small green curling stems. I tried to isolate one. It's such a tiny little wonder of nature.

ANAPURNA SUNRISE

This image was taken the 16th of November 2012 at 6am in Sangarkot (next to Pokhara) in Nepal.

But a beautiful miracle of Nature, that defeats Darkness and spreads Light ...

Thanks a lot for the response on my previous shot.  _Unfortunately it will not be qualified for the plusonecollection2012 ... neather any of my favorite shots of the past year because they all were taken during my trip to Nepal in November 2012 and marked in the exif as taken in 2011._
The exif marks that they were taken in 2011 due to a strange experience that happened to me.  I landed in Nepal on the 7th of November 2012 and staid for 3 days in Kathmandu.  When we start the real trekking, I took of the handgrip of my Canon 5D MarkII for the very first time since I bought it to reduce the weight and put one of my batteries in the camera. I was asked to re-enter date and time and forgot to change the year standing on 2011.  NO WAY TO PROOVE THAT MY SHOTS WERE TAKENIN ... more »

THE DAY NEVER WILL BELIEVE THE EXISTENCE OF STARS AT NIGHT
The twinkling stars of my very first "short" long exposure attempt ...
I cannot believe that this is already more than three years ago.
It feels like yesterday.
Struggling with my tripod in a little barn ment to watch birds, not knowing how to use that magic ND filter 6 stops I just bought. I didn't even have a remote switch. But I was enchanted by the result and I'm still enjoying it. I re-edited it using Silver Efex Pro that I didn't even know that moment and

Hi dear friends,
Why two months of absence ???
* My stay in the States end of January till end of February turned out badly. I finally ended my journey in Ottawa with my Canadian family and my good friend Robert.
* Coming back home, I had to replace my old car.
* My computor crashed, I had to buy a new one but happily all my work was saved on external drives.
* I got a unique opportunity to set up my personal photo studio on a location in the Art Center of Lissewege which requires a lot of work, but once finished it will be beautiful.
* I didn't take a single picture for myself since two months because of being extremely busy

The 1959 Yellowstone earthquake also known as the Hebgen Lake earthquake was a powerful earthquake that occurred on August 17, 1959 in southwestern Montana. The quake caused a huge landslide that caused over 28 fatalities, left huge damage and also blocked the flow of the Madison River resulting in the creation of Quake Lake.
Quake Lake is full of dead tree trunks sticking out of the water. A real sanctuary...

Sunset on my favorite beach along the St Lawrence river (Canada - Québec). I spend hours on that empty shore last summer. A perfect place for meditation, relaxation and of course, for long exposures ;)

A lovely place in my little corner of the world ...
I was bad mooded that day, because I didn't take my tripod !!!
I tried a handhold one second exposure with my 10stop filter, not moving, not breathing. Incredible how one second can be long in the circle of life sometimes ;)
But the result can be seen, I guess ?!?!?

This little fighter caught my eye while discovering the Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone.
His roots in the boiling water, his branches in the hot spray but still alive (not for long !!!) Trees die fast in this area of intense deposition of calcium carbonate.

May be silly, but I was deeply touched by the beauty of the scenery and the loneliness of this little guy. He deserves to be uploaded in the theme

It's heart warming and a supreme pleasure to me that +Nathan Wirth allowed me to upload this lovely portrait taken when I visited him and his family last year.
Nathan is not only a Master in photography, he is also a loving husband, a super dad and a precious friend. The 10.000 km, the ocean, the time zones ... nothing will ever make me feel far away from those wonderful people. His fabulous work always will remind me of those beautiful moments we spend together.

My entry for #MoodyMonday by +Philip Daly, and many thanks for allowing me to express my state of mind after the misfortune that happened to me last week.

My car was ripped off on a parking while I was a few hours in Antwerp city ...
My brand new Kindl, my sport gear and shoes, my tripod were stolen.
As this was not enough, yesterday I realized that the belly bag with my remote switch and my ND filters 10 stops and 6 stops was gone too.
All together about 600 euro gone forever thanks to one more gang of burglers terrorising the parking lots of the city ...
That 's the reason I didn't upload for a week.
I know this post will help my frustrating and angerness fade away
a bit thanks to the friends here.
