I am learning to love my iPad, but I'm enjoying more finding apps that aren't tied solely to Apple (although most are). Tom just ordered the newest Asus tablet which will arrive in February. We are anxious to compare.

I got a reaffirmation of my dislike for Windows OS yesterday:
My eye doc just converted to using computers during exams. They are on a learning curve with this so I was very patient with the longer than normal visit. While the doc was entering the information, Windows decided it was going to shut down! In the middle of the data entry! Thankfully the data was not erased and he did not have to enter it again. Boo Windows!

Every year people all over the United States spend the day after Thanksgiving getting ready for the holiday season by patronizing retail businesses for gift buying. We perceived a need for a project for the same day that would be useful and meaningful, as well as educational, and that focuses on concerns about the ecological and psychological consequences of our consumer culture and the impact of our consumerism on society.

To that end, a new community-oriented project was born: The Community Coat Exchange. Patterned after a... more »

Remember when teachers, public employees, Planned Parenthood, NPR and PBS crashed the stock market, wiped out half of your 401Ks, took trillions in taxpayer funded bail outs, spilled oil in the Gulf of Mexico, gave themselves billions in bonuses, and paid no taxes?

Yeah, me neither... Pass it on.
