I decided to make an Chrome Extension changing some of the minor things I don't like.

- Sidebar is always visible now, as icons only (like it was before)
- To ensure this doesn't affect how the content dynamically expands, the Hangout was made thinner to compensate for adding back the sidebar
- The blue New Items button that shows up next to the stream has been relocated to be less in the way now. Now it appears next to the header items. (see screenshot)
- Hangout's was moved down 1px because the border was bugging me.
- Comments don't scroll when expanded unless it exceeds 1200px in height (was 400px)

Go to your Hangouts window, click on drop-down menu arrow, and click on Customize new requests.

Step 2
In the Who can Hangout with you window, scroll down to Everyone else and change to desired option (send request).

Oh, so this is why Talk is no more. I guess XMPP doesn't work well with cloud computing.

Talk, for example, was built to help enterprise users communicate better, Singhal says. I get that you can use "L" to refresh your screen instead of new button.. But really .. can we please get an option for auto refresh ? Pretty Please? With sugar on top? :D

Google Books Lets You Upload Your Own EPUB or PDF Files

Oh this is a lovely feature that Google is adding.

Now you can upload your own EPUB (or PDF) and read them anywhere you have web access.

This just might start to wean me away from Amazon though as long as I have a Kindle it won't replace them.
